¹And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

¹In veli mi: Sin človečji, postavi se pokonci, in govoril bom s teboj.

²And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.

²In ko me je ogovoril, pride duh v mene in me postavi pokonci; in čul sem glas, ki mi je govoril.

³And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.

³In mi reče: Sin človečji, jaz te pošiljam k sinovom Izraelovim, k narodom upornežem, ki so se uprli meni; oni in njih očetje so odpadli od mene prav do tega dne.

⁴For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.

⁴In ti sinovi so brezsramnega obličja in trdega srca; k njim te pošiljam, in reci jim: „Tako pravi Gospod Jehova!“

⁵And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

⁵Oni pa, najsi poslušajo ali ne poslušajo (kajti uporna so družina), vendar bodo vedeli, da je bil prorok med njimi.

⁶And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

⁶Ti pa, sin človečji, ne boj se jih in ne prestraši se njih besed, čeprav so res koprive in trnje okoli tebe in prebivaš med škorpijoni. Ne boj se njih besed in ne ustraši se njih obličja, kajti uporna so družina.

⁷And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

⁷In govóri jim besede moje, najsi poslušajo ali ne, kajti uporneži so.

⁸But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

⁸Ali ti, sin človečji, poslušaj, kar ti govorim; ne bodi uporen kakor tista uporna družina: odpri usta in jej, kar ti dam!

⁹And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;

⁹In videl sem, in glej: roka iztegnjena proti meni, in glej, v njej je zvitek knjige.In razgane jo pred menoj, in bila je popisana spredaj in zadaj, in bilo je pisano v njej žalovanje in zdihovanje in gorje.
