¹And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;

¹Zgodi se pa za časov Amrafela, kralja sinearskega, Arjoha, kralja elasarskega, Kedorlaomerja, kralja elamskega, in Tideala, kralja narodov,

²That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

²da so ti začeli vojsko zoper Bera, kralja v Sodomi, in zoper Birsa, kralja v Gomori, zoper Sineaba, kralja v Adami, in Semeberja, kralja v Seboimu, in zoper kralja v Beli, to je Zoar.

³All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.

³Vsi ti so šli združeni proti dolini Sidimski, to je sedaj Slano morje.

⁴Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

⁵And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emins in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

⁵In v štirinajstem letu so prišli Kedorlaomer in kralji, ki so bili ž njim, ter so porazili Refaime v Asterot-karnaimu in Zuzime v Hamu in Emime v ravnini pri Kirjataimu

⁶And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto Elparan, which is by the wilderness.

⁶in Horejce na njih gorovju Seiru tja do El-parana, ki je poleg puščave.

⁷And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar.

⁷In vrnili so se ter prišli v En-mišpat, ki je Kades, in ugonobili so vso poljano Amalekovcev in tudi Amorejce, ki so prebivali v Hazazontamaru.

⁸And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;

⁸In pride kralj sodomski in kralj gomorski in kralj adamski in kralj seboimski in kralj iz Bele, ki je Zoar, in uredili so se v boj zoper nje v dolini Sidimski:

⁹With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.

⁹zoper Kedorlaomerja, kralja elamskega, in Tideala, kralja narodov, in Amrafela, kralja sinearskega, in Arjoha, kralja elasarskega: četvero kraljev zoper petero.

¹⁰And the vale of Siddim was full of slime pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.

¹⁰Dolina Sidimska pa je imela mnogo smolnih jam. Kralj sodomski in gomorski pa sta bežala in padla vanje, in kar jih je ostalo, so pobegnili v gorovje.

¹¹And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.

¹¹In oni so vzeli vse blago iz Sodome in Gomore in ves njih živež ter so odšli.

¹²And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

¹²Ujeli so pa tudi Lota, sina brata Abramovega, ki je prebival v Sodomi, z blagom njegovim in so odšli.

¹³And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.

¹³In pride eden ubežnikov povedat to Abramu Hebrejcu, ki je bival pri hrastih Mamreja Amorejca, brata Eskolovega in Anerjevega, ki sta bila zaveznika Abramova.

¹⁴And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.

¹⁴Ko je torej slišal Abram, da so ujetega odpeljali bratiča njegovega, oboroži domačih hlapcev svojih tristo osemnajst, ki jih je bil izuril, in spusti se za njimi tja do Dana.

¹⁵And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

¹⁵In se razdeli v trume proti njim po noči, on in hlapci njegovi, ter jih premaga in podi do Hobe, ki je na levo od Damaska.

¹⁶And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

¹⁶In pripelje nazaj vse tisto blago in tudi Lota, bratiča svojega, z blagom njegovim privede nazaj in tudi žene in ljudstvo.

¹⁷And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale.

¹⁷In izide kralj sodomski Abramu naproti, ko se je vračal s poboja Kedorlaomerja in tistih kraljev, ki so bili ž njim, v dolino Šave, to je Kraljeva dolina.

¹⁸And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

¹⁸Melhizedek pa, kralj v Salemu, prinese kruha in vina; bil je namreč duhovnik Boga mogočnega, Najvišjega.

¹⁹And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

¹⁹In blagoslovi ga, govoreč: Blagoslovljen bodi Abram od Boga mogočnega, Najvišjega, Stvarnika nebes in zemlje;

²⁰And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

²⁰in hvaljen bodi Bog mogočni, Najvišji, ki je izdal sovražnike tvoje v roko tvojo! In dá mu Abram desetino od vsega.

²¹And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.

²¹In reče kralj sodomski Abramu: Daj mi le duše, blago pa si vzemi!

²²And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

²²Abram pa veli kralju sodomskemu: Povzdigujem roko svojo proti GOSPODU, Bogu mogočnemu, Najvišjemu, nebes in zemlje Stvarniku,

²³That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:

²³da ne vzamem ne niti, ne jermena, ne ničesar, kar je tvojega, da ne porečeš: Jaz sem obogatil Abrama.Meni ničesar! samo kar so pojedli mladeniči, in del teh mož, ki so šli z menoj: Aner, Eskol in Mamre, oni naj vzemo svoj del.

²⁴Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.

²⁴Meni ničesar! samo kar so pojedli mladeniči, in del teh mož, ki so šli z menoj: Aner, Eskol in Mamre, oni naj vzemo svoj del.
