¹O israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

¹Povrni se, o Izrael, prav h GOSPODU, svojemu Bogu, kajti padel si po pregrehi svoji.

²Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

²Vzemite s seboj besede in vrnite se h GOSPODU; recite mu: Odpusti vso pregreho in sprejmi nas milostljivo, in bomo prinašali sad ustnic kot daritve.

³Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

³Asirija nas ne bo rešila; na konjih nočemo jezditi in nikdar več ne porečemo rok svojih izdelku: naš bog si! Kajti pri tebi najde sirota usmiljenje.

⁴I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

⁴Ozdravim njih odpad, rad jih hočem ljubiti; kajti jeza moja se je odvrnila od njih.

⁵I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

⁵Bodem kakor rosa Izraelu, cvetel bo kakor lilija in poganjal korenine kakor Libanon.

⁶His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

⁶Razprostro se njegove veje, in lepota njegova bode kakor oljka in duh njegov kakor Libanon.

⁷They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

⁷Kateri bodo prebivali v senci njegovi, bodo zopet pridelovali žito in zeleneli kakor vinska trta, katere sloves bo kakor vina libanonskega.

⁸Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.

⁸Efraim poreče: Kaj hočem še z maliki? – Jaz sem ga uslišal in se nanj oziram. Jaz sem kakor zeleneča cipresa. Iz mene se najde sad na tebi.Kdor je moder, bo razumel to; kdor je razumen, bo to spoznal. Kajti ravna so pota GOSPODOVA in pravični bodo hodili po njih, ali prestopniki padejo na njih.

⁹Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

⁹Kdor je moder, bo razumel to; kdor je razumen, bo to spoznal. Kajti ravna so pota GOSPODOVA in pravični bodo hodili po njih, ali prestopniki padejo na njih.
