³Jaz sem ukazal posvečencem svojim, tudi sem poklical na jezo svojo junake svoje, ki se radujejo v moji veličasti.

⁴The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.

⁴Množice glas se čuje na gorah kakor obilega ljudstva, hrup kraljestev narodov, ki so se zbrali! GOSPOD nad vojskami pregleduje vojno krdelo.

⁵They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

⁵Prihajajo iz daljne dežele, od kraja nebes – GOSPOD in srda njegovega orodje – pogubit vso deželo Babilonsko.

⁶Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

⁶Tulite, ker blizu je dan GOSPODOV, prihaja kot razdejanje od Vsegamogočnega.

⁷Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:

⁷Zatorej bodo omahovale vse roke in tajalo se bo vsako srce človeško;

⁸And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.

⁸in izbegani bodo, krč in bolečine jih zgrabijo, kakor porodnica bodo imeli bolečine; vsak bo strmel ob bližnjem svojem, zaripljeno obličje bode njih obličje.

⁹Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

¹⁴And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.

¹⁴In godilo se jim bo kakor srni splašeni in kakor čredi, ko je nihče ne zbira: obrnejo se vsak k svojemu ljudstvu in zbeže vsakteri v svojo deželo.

¹⁵Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.

¹⁵Vsak, kogar najdejo, bo preboden, in vsak, kogar zasačijo, pade od meča.

¹⁶Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.

¹⁶In njih otročiče bodo razbijali pred njih očmi, njih hiše bodo plenili in njih žene oskrunjali.

¹⁷Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.

¹⁹In Babilon, dika kraljestev, s katerim so se ponašali prevzetni Kaldejci, bode podoben Sodomi in Gomori, ki ju je Bog razdejal.

²⁰It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

²⁰Ne bo se vekomaj v njem prebivalo, nihče se v njem ne nastani od roda do roda, tudi Arabec ne postavi tam šatora, niti pastirjem ne bodo tam počivale črede.

²¹But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

²¹Ampak ležale bodo tam zverine puščave, in njih hiše bodo polne sov, in bivali bodo tam noji ter pošasti bodo tam skakale.In volkovi bodo tulili po njih opustošenih palačah in šakali po njih zabavnih gradovih. Skoraj pa pride čas njegov, in dnevi njegovi se ne podaljšajo.

²²And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

²²In volkovi bodo tulili po njih opustošenih palačah in šakali po njih zabavnih gradovih. Skoraj pa pride čas njegov, in dnevi njegovi se ne podaljšajo.
