¹Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

¹Tako pravi GOSPOD maziljencu svojemu, Ciru, ki sem ga prijel za desnico, da porazim pred njim narode, in hočem razpasati ledje kraljem, da odprem duri pred njim in vrata ne ostanejo zaprta:

²I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

²Jaz bom hodil pred teboj in poravnaval, kar ni ravno; vrata jeklena razbijem in polomim železne zapahe,

³And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

³in dam ti zaklade, zakopane v temi, in blago, shranjeno na skrivnem, da spoznaš, da sem jaz GOSPOD, ki sem te poklical po imenu tvojem, Bog Izraelov.

⁴For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

⁴Zaradi hlapca svojega Jakoba in Izraela, izvoljenca svojega, sem te klical po imenu tvojem, dal ti priimek, dasi me nisi poznal.

⁵I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

⁵Jaz sem GOSPOD in nobenega drugega ni, razen mene ni Boga. Opašem te, dasi me ne poznaš,

⁶That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

⁶da naj spoznajo od solnčnega vzhoda in od zahoda njegovega, da ni nobenega drugega razen mene. Jaz sem GOSPOD in nobenega drugega ni!

⁷I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

⁷ki ustvarjam svetlobo in delam temo, narejam mir in napravljam nesrečo; jaz GOSPOD sem, ki delam vse to.

⁸Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.

⁸Rosite z viška, nebesa, in najvišji oblaki, dežíte pravičnost! odpri se, zemlja, in ródi zveličanje in hkratu naj vzraste pravičnost. Jaz, GOSPOD, sem ustvaril to.

⁹Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

⁹Gorje mu, ki se prepira z obrazovateljem svojim, čepinja med čepinjami prstenimi! Sme li pač reči glina obrazovatelju svojemu: Kaj delaš? ali tvoje delo o tebi: Rok nima!

¹⁰Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?

¹⁰Gorje njemu, ki pravi očetu: Čemu rodiš? in ženi: Čemu si v porodnih bolečinah?

¹¹Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.

¹¹Tako pravi GOSPOD, Svetnik Izraelov in obrazovatelj njegov: Vprašajte me za to, kar ima priti, za otroke moje in za rok mojih delo mi naročajte!

¹²I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

¹²Jaz sem naredil zemljo in ustvaril človeka na njej; jaz, moje roke so razpele nebesa in sleherni njih vojski sem dal povelja.

¹³I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.

¹³Jaz sem ga zbudil v pravičnosti in poravnam vsa pota njegova; on sezida mesto moje in odgnance moje pošlje nazaj, ne za kupno ceno ne za denar, govori GOSPOD nad vojskami.

¹⁴Thus saith the LORD, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.

¹⁴Tako pravi GOSPOD: Pridelek egiptovski in dobiček Etiopije in Sabejci, možje visoke postave, preidejo na tvojo stran in bodo tvoji; za teboj pojdejo, zvezani preidejo k tebi in tebi se bodo klanjali, tebe bodo prosili, govoreč: Zares, Bog mogočni je pri tebi, in nobenega drugega Boga ni nikjer drugod.

¹⁵Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.

¹⁵Resnično, ti si Bog mogočni, skrivajoči se, o Bog Izraelov, Rešitelj!

¹⁶They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.

¹⁶Sramovali se bodo in osramočeni bodo vsi, s sramoto odidejo vsi podobarji!

¹⁷But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

¹⁷Izrael bo rešen po GOSPODU z večnim rešenjem; ne bode vas sram in osramočeni ne boste na večne veke.

¹⁸For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

¹⁸Kajti tako pravi GOSPOD, stvarnik nebes (on sam je Bog!), obrazovatelj zemlje in stvaritelj njen; on jo je utrdil, ni je ustvaril puste, ampak upodobil jo je v prebivanje: Jaz sem GOSPOD in drugega ni nobenega.

¹⁹I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

¹⁹Nisem govoril na skrivnem, v kraju temne zemlje; nisem velel semenu Jakobovemu: Iščite me brezuspešno! Jaz sem GOSPOD, ki govorim pravičnost, oznanjam, kar je pravo.

²⁰Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.

²⁰Zberite se in pridite, bližajte se vsi, ki ste ušli iz poganskih narodov! Nimajo spoznanja, ki nosijo les rezane podobe svoje in molijo k bogu, ki ne more rešiti.

²¹Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

²¹Napovejte in blizu prinesite! Tudi posvetujejo naj se med seboj! Kdo je oznanjal to od prvih dni, kdo je napovedoval to od davnega časa? Ali ne jaz, GOSPOD? in nobenega drugega Boga ni razen mene; mogočnega Boga, pravičnega in rešitelja ni drugega razen mene.

²²Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

²²Ozrite se v mene in rešeni bodete, vsi kraji zemlje, zakaj jaz sem Bog mogočni in drug nobeden.

²³I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

²³Pri sebi sem prisegel, iz ust pravičnosti je prišla beseda, ki se ne prekliče: da se meni pripogne vsako koleno, meni bo prisegal vsak jezik.

²⁴Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

²⁴Samo v GOSPODU, poreko o meni, je vsa pravičnost in moč. K njemu pridejo, ali osramočeni bodo vsi, ki so se vnemali zoper njega.V GOSPODU bo opravičeno in se bo hvalilo vse seme Izraelovo.

²⁵In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

²⁵V GOSPODU bo opravičeno in se bo hvalilo vse seme Izraelovo.
