¹Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

¹Poslušajte to, hiša Jakobova, ki se kličete po imenu Izraelovem in ste izšli iz vodá Judovih, ki prisegate pri imenu GOSPODOVEM in hvalno omenjate Boga Izraelovega, a ne v resnici in ne v pravičnosti;

²For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.

²zakaj imenujejo se po svetem mestu in opirajo se na Boga Izraelovega, GOSPOD nad vojskami je ime njegovo:

³I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.

³Prejšnje sem naznanjal od nekdaj, in iz mojih ust je izšlo in sem to razglasil; mahoma sem to dopolnil, in zgodilo se je.

⁴Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;

⁴Ker sem vedel, da si trd in da je kita železna tilnik tvoj in čelo tvoje jekleno,

⁵I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.

⁵zato sem ti to naznanjal od nekdaj; ko se ni še zgodilo, sem ti povedal to, da bi ne govoril: Malik moj je storil to in izdolbena ali ulita podoba moja je zapovedala tisto.

⁶Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.

⁶Slišal si to; ogleduj vse to! in vi, nočete li tega priznati? Odslej ti napovedujem novo in dosihdob skrito, česar nisi vedel.

⁷They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.

⁷Sedaj se to ustvarja, ne pa oddavna, in pred tem dnevom nisi slišal za to, da ne porečeš: Glej, vedel sem to.

⁸Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.

⁸Niti slišal nisi nič niti vedel, tudi od nekdaj ni bilo odprto uho tvoje; kajti poznal sem te, da ravnaš silno nezvesto in da se imenuješ prestopnik od materinega telesa.

⁹For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.

⁹Zaradi imena svojega zadržujem jezo svojo in zaradi hvale svoje jo krotim, tebi v prid, da te ne iztrebim.

¹⁰Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

¹⁰Glej, prečistil sem te, a ne kot srebro; izbranega sem te naredil v topilnici bridkosti.

¹¹For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.

¹¹Zaradi sebe, zaradi sebe storim to, kajti kako bi se oskrunilo ime moje! in slave svoje ne dam drugemu.

¹²Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

¹²Poslušaj me, o Jakob, in Izrael, poklicanec moj! Jaz sem večno isti, jaz sem prvi, jaz tudi poslednji.

¹³Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

¹³Moja roka je vendar ustanovila zemljo in desnica moja razpela nebesa; ko sem jih poklical, brž so bila vsa tu.

¹⁴All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.

¹⁴Zberite se vi vsi in čujte: Kdo izmed onih je naznanil tisto? Ki ga GOSPOD ljubi, ta izpolni voljo njegovo nad Babilonom in roka njegova bode nad Kaldejci.

¹⁵I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.

¹⁵Jaz, jaz sem govoril, jaz sem ga tudi poklical; pripeljal sem ga, in pot njegova bode uspešna.

¹⁶Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.

¹⁶Pristopite k meni, čujte to! Od početka nisem na skrivnem govoril; od tistega časa, ko se je zgodilo to, sem bil pri tem. In sedaj me je poslal Gospod Jehova in duh njegov. –

¹⁷Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

¹⁷Tako pravi GOSPOD, odrešenik tvoj, Svetnik Izraelov: Jaz sem GOSPOD, Bog tvoj, ki te učim, kar ti je v korist, ki te spremljam po potu, po katerem ti je hoditi.

¹⁸O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

¹⁸O da bi bil pazil na zapovedi moje! tedaj bi bil kakor reka mir tvoj in pravičnost tvoja kakor morsko valovje;

¹⁹Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.

¹⁹in kakor pesek bi bil zarod tvoj in rojeni iz osrčja tvojega kakor kamenjiče njegovo; njegovo ime bi se ne zatrlo in ne pogubilo izpred mojega obličja.

²⁰Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.

²⁰Pojdite ven iz Babilona, bežite od Kaldejcev; z zmagoslavnim glasom naznanjajte, pripovedujte to, razširjajte to do kraja zemlje! Govorite: Odkupil je GOSPOD hlapca svojega Jakoba.

²¹And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.

²¹In žejni niso bili, ko jih je vodil po puščavah; točil jim je vode iz skale: razklal je skalo, in vode so tekle!Ni ga miru, pravi GOSPOD, brezbožnim.

²²There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.

²²Ni ga miru, pravi GOSPOD, brezbožnim.
