¹Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.

¹Gorje pastirjem, ki pogubljajo in raztresajo ovce paše moje, govori GOSPOD.

²Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.

²Zatorej pravi tako GOSPOD, Bog Izraelov, zoper tiste pastirje, ki paso ljudstvo moje: Vi raztresate ovce moje in jih razganjate, pa jih ne obiskujete; glej, jaz bom kaznoval nad vami hudobnost vaših dejanj, govori GOSPOD.

³And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

³Jaz zberem ostanek svojih ovac iz vseh krajev, kamor sem jih razkropil, in jih pripeljem nazaj v njih stajo, in se bodo plodile in množile.

⁴And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.

⁴In jim postavim pastirje, ki jih bodo pasli; in ne bodo se več bale, ne plašile, in nobene več ne bodo pogrešili, govori GOSPOD.

⁵Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

⁵Glej, dnevi pridejo, govori GOSPOD, ko zbudim Davidu Odraslek pravičen; in bo vladal kot kralj, srečo bo imel in delal pravo in pravičnost v deželi.

⁶In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

⁶V dnevih njegovih bo rešen Juda, in Izrael bo na varnem prebival; in to je ime njegovo, s katerim ga bodo klicali: GOSPOD, pravičnost naša.

⁷Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

⁷Zato, glej, pridejo dnevi, govori GOSPOD, ko se ne poreče več: Kakor res živi GOSPOD, ki je peljal Izraela iz dežele Egiptovske,

⁸But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

⁸ampak: Kakor živi GOSPOD, ki je izpeljal in pripeljal seme hiše Izraelove iz severne dežele in iz vseh krajev, kamor sem jih bil odgnal! In bodo prebivali v deželi svoji.

⁹Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.

⁹O prorokih. Potrto je srce v meni, drobé se vse kosti moje; sem kakor pijan in podoben možu, ki ga je premagalo vino, zavoljo GOSPODA in zavoljo besed svetosti njegove.

¹⁰For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.

¹⁰Kajti prešeštnikov polna je ta dežela, kajti zavoljo prokletstva žaluje ta dežela, suhi so pašniki v puščavi; in njih tek je hudoben in njih moč krivična.

¹¹For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.

¹¹Ker prorok in duhovnik sta enako skrunilca svetega; celo v hiši svoji sem našel njiju hudobnost, govori GOSPOD.

¹²Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.

¹²Zato jim bode njih pot kakor prepolzki kraji v temi, zadenejo se na njem in padejo; zakaj pošljem nesrečo zoper nje, leto njih obiskovanja, govori GOSPOD.

¹³And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

¹³Pri prorokih samarijskih vidim nespamet: prorokovali so po Baalu in zapeljevali ljudstvo moje Izraela.

¹⁴I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

¹⁴Ali na prorokih jeruzalemskih vidim strahovito reč: prešeštvujejo in hodijo v lažnivosti in potrjujejo roke hudodelcem, da se ne povrne nobeden od hudobnosti svoje; vsi tisti so mi kakor Sodoma in prebivalci njegovi kakor Gomora.

¹⁵Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.

¹⁵Zatorej pravi tako GOSPOD nad vojskami o tistih prorokih: Glej, jaz jih bodem sitil s pelinom in jih napajal s sokom trobeličnim; ker od prorokov jeruzalemskih je šla skrunitev svetega po vsej deželi.

¹⁶Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.

¹⁶Tako pravi GOSPOD nad vojskami: Ne poslušajte besed tistih prorokov, ki vam prorokujejo; ničermurnosti vas učijo, svojega srca prikazen vam govore, ne iz ust GOSPODOVIH.

¹⁷They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

¹⁷Govoré neprenehoma njim, ki me zametajo: Rekel je GOSPOD: mir vam bode; in vsakemu, ki hodi po trmi svojega srca, govoré: Ne pride nesreča nad vas.

¹⁸For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?

¹⁸Kajti kdo je stal v svetu GOSPODOVEM in je videl ali čul besedo njegovo? Kdo je pazil na besedo njegovo in jo slišal?

¹⁹Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.

¹⁹Glej, vihar GOSPODOV, iz srda njegovega, je prihrumel, vrtinčast vihar: zgrne se nad glavo brezbožnih.

²⁰The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.

²⁰Ne odvrne se jeza GOSPODOVA, dokler ne izpolni in dokler ne izvrši misli srca svojega. V poslednjih dnevih boste to jasno razumeli.

²¹I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

²¹Nisem pošiljal tistih prorokov, sami so tekali; nisem jim govoril, sami so prorokovali.

²²But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

²²Ko bi bili pa stali v svetu mojem, bi bili oznanjali ljudstvu mojemu besede moje in jih odvrnili ž njih hudobnega pota in od hudobnosti njih dejanj. –

²³Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?

²³Ali sem jaz Bog le od blizu, govori GOSPOD, ne tudi Bog v daljavi?

²⁴Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

²⁴Ali se more kdo skriti v zakotju, da bi ga ne videl jaz? govori GOSPOD. Ali nisem jaz, ki polnim nebesa in zemljo? govori GOSPOD.

²⁵I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

²⁵Slišal sem, kaj govore tisti proroki, ki prorokujejo laži v imenu mojem in pravijo: Sanjalo se mi je, sanjalo!

²⁶How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;

²⁶Doklej neki bode to v srcu tistih prorokov, ki prorokujejo laži, ki prorokujejo prevare srca svojega?

²⁷Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.

²⁷ki nameravajo storiti, da ljudstvo moje pozabi moje ime, s sanjami svojimi, ki jih pripovedujejo drug drugemu, prav kakor so njih očetje pozabili ime moje zavoljo Baala.

²⁸The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.

²⁸Prorok, ki ima sanje, naj pripoveduje sanje; in kdor ima besedo mojo, naj govori besedo mojo v resnici. Kaj tista slama s pšenico? govori GOSPOD.

²⁹Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

²⁹Ni li beseda moja kakor ogenj, govori GOSPOD, in kakor kladivo, ki raztrupa skalo?

³⁰Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.

³⁰Zatorej, glej, jaz sem zoper tiste proroke, govori GOSPOD, ki kradejo besede moje drug drugemu.

³¹Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.

³¹Glej, jaz sem zoper proroke, govori GOSPOD, ki rabijo svoj jezik in pravijo: Govor Božji je.

³²Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.

³²Glej, jaz sem zoper nje, ki prorokujejo sanje lažnive, govori GOSPOD, ki jih pripovedujejo in zapeljujejo ljudstvo moje s svojimi lažmi in z bahanjem svojim; jaz pa jih vendar nisem poslal in jim nisem zapovedal, in ne koristijo temu ljudstvu nikakor, govori GOSPOD.

³³And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.

³³Ko te bo torej vprašalo to ljudstvo ali kak prorok ali duhovnik, rekoč: Kaj je breme [Hebrejska beseda pomeni dvoje: „breme“ in „prorokovanje“.] GOSPODOVO? tedaj jim povej: Vi ste breme, in: Zavržem vas, govori GOSPOD.

³⁴And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.

³⁴Zastran proroka in duhovnika in ljudstva, ki poreče: Breme GOSPODOVO –: kaznoval bom tistega moža in hišo njegovo.

³⁵Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?

³⁵Takole bi morali govoriti vsak svojemu prijatelju in vsak svojemu bratu: Kaj je odgovoril GOSPOD? in: Kaj je rekel GOSPOD?

³⁶And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.

³⁶„Bremena GOSPODOVEGA“ pa ne omenjajte več; kajti breme bode vsakemu njegova lastna beseda, ker preobračate besede živega Boga, GOSPODA nad vojskami, našega Boga.

³⁷Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken?

³⁷Tako reci proroku: Kaj ti je odgovoril GOSPOD? in: Kaj je rekel GOSPOD?

³⁸But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;

³⁸Toda ker pravite „Breme GOSPODOVO“, zato pravi GOSPOD: Ker rabite tisto besedo „Breme GOSPODOVO“, dasi sem poslal k vam sporočat: Ne govorite: „Breme GOSPODOVO“:

³⁹Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:

³⁹zatorej, glejte, vas zapustim docela in zavržem vas in mesto, katero sem dal vam in očetom vašim, izpred obličja svojega;in naložim vam večno sramoto in večno nečast, ki se ne bo mogla pozabiti.

⁴⁰And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
