²Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

²Abraham je rodil Izaka. Izak pa je rodil Jakoba. Jakob pa je rodil Judo in brate njegove.

³And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

³Juda pa je rodil Faresa [Ali: Pereza.] in Zara s Tamaro. Fares pa je rodil Ezroma. Ezrom pa je rodil Arama.

⁴And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

⁴Aram pa je rodil Abinadaba. Abinadab pa je rodil Nahsona. Nahson pa je rodil Salmona.

⁵And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

⁵Salmon pa je rodil Boaza z Rahabo. Boaz pa je rodil Obeda z Ruto. Obed pa je rodil Jeseja.

⁶And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

⁶A Jesej je rodil Davida kralja. David kralj pa je rodil Salomona z bivšo ženo Urijevo.

⁷And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

⁷Salomon pa je rodil Roboama. Roboam pa je rodil Abija. Abija pa je rodil Aza.

⁸And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

⁸Aza pa je rodil Jozafata. Jozafat pa je rodil Jorama. Joram pa je rodil Ozija.

⁹And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

⁹Ozija pa je rodil Joatama. Joatam pa je rodil Ahaza. Ahaz pa je rodil Ezekija.

¹⁰And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

¹⁰Ezekija pa je rodil Manaseja. Manasej pa je rodil Amona. Amon pa je rodil Josija.

¹¹And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

¹²And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

¹²Po preselitvi v Babilon pa: Jehonija je rodil Salatiela. Salatiel pa je rodil Zorobabela.

¹³And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

¹³Zorobabel pa je rodil Abiuda. Abiud pa je rodil Eliakima. Eliakim pa je rodil Azorja.

¹⁴And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

¹⁴Azor pa je rodil Sadoka. Sadok pa je rodil Ahima. Ahim pa je rodil Eliuda.

¹⁵And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

¹⁵Eliud pa je rodil Eleazarja. Eleazar pa je rodil Matana. Matan pa je rodil Jakoba.

¹⁶And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

¹⁶A Jakob je rodil Jožefa, moža Marije, iz katere se je rodil Jezus, ki se imenuje Kristus.

¹⁷So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

¹⁷Vseh rodov torej od Abrahama do Davida je štirinajst rodov, in od Davida do preselitve v Babilon štirinajst rodov, in od preselitve v Babilon do Kristusa štirinajst rodov.

¹⁸Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

¹⁸Jezusa Kristusa rojstvo je bilo pa tako: Ko je bila mati njegova Marija zaročena z Jožefom, se pokaže, preden sta se sešla, da je noseča od svetega Duha.

¹⁹Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

¹⁹Jožef pa, njen mož, ker je bil pravičen in je ni hotel očitno osramotiti, jo je sklenil skrivaj zapustiti.

²⁰But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

²⁰In ko je to premišljeval, glej, prikaže se mu v spanju angel Gospodov, rekoč: Jožef, sin Davidov, ne boj se vzeti k sebi Marije, žene svoje; kajti kar se je v njej zarodilo, je od svetega Duha.

²¹And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

²¹Rodila pa bo sina, in imenuj ime njegovo Jezus, zakaj on odreši ljudstvo svoje njih grehov.

²²Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

²²Vse to pa se je zgodilo, da se izpolni, karje rekel Gospod po preroku, ki pravi:

²³Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

²³„Glej, devica bode noseča in bo rodila sina, in imenovali bodo ime njegovo Emanuel“, kar se tolmači: Bog z nami.

²⁴Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

²⁴Ko se pa prebudi Jožef iz spanja, stori, kakor mu je angel Gospodov ukazal, in vzame k sebi ženo svojo.In ni je spoznal, dokler ni rodila sina, in dal mu je ime Jezus.

²⁵And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
