¹Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:

¹Korah pa, sin Izharja, sinu Kahata, sinu Levijevega, se poprime upora in Datan in Abiram, sinova Eliabova, in On, sin Peletov, sinovi Rubenovi;

²And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:

²in se vzdignejo proti Mojzesu z dvestoinpetdesetimi možmi izmed sinov Izraelovih, ki so bili prvaki v občini, pooblaščenci zbora, možje imenitni.

³And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

³In zbero se zoper Mojzesa in Arona in ju ogovore: Dosti vama naj bo! Zakaj vsa občina, vsi so svetniki, in GOSPOD je sredi njih. Zakaj se vidva povzdigujeta nad zbor GOSPODOV?

⁴And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:

⁴In ko Mojzes to sliši, pade na obraz svoj.

⁵And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will show who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.

⁵In izpregovori Korahu in vsej družbi njegovi, rekoč: Jutri pokaže GOSPOD, kdo je njegov in kdo je svet in se Mu sme bližati; njemu, kogar si izvoli, veli, naj se Mu bliža.

⁶This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;

⁷And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD to morrow: and it shall be that the man whom the LORD doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.

⁷in vložite vanje ognja ter denite nanj kadila jutri pred GOSPODOM; in mož, ki si ga izvoli GOSPOD, ta bodi svetnik. Dosti naj vam bode, sinovi Levijevi.

⁸And Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi:

⁸In Mojzes reče Korahu: Čujte, pravim, sinovi Levijevi!

⁹Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?

⁹Ali vam je premalo, da je prav vas Bog Izraelov odločil iz občine Izraelove, veleč, da bodite blizu njega, da bi opravljali službo pri prebivališču GOSPODOVEM ter stopali pred občino, da jim strežete?

¹⁰And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?

¹⁰Premalo li je da je k sebi dovolil pristop tebi in vsem bratom tvojim s teboj? Iščete li še tudi duhovništva?

¹¹For which cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the LORD: and what is Aaron, that ye murmur against him?

¹¹Zares, prav zoper GOSPODA ste se zbrali, ti in vsa družba tvoja. Kaj neki je Aron, da zoper njega mrmrate?

¹²And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: which said, We will not come up:

¹²In Mojzes pošlje klicat Datana in Abirama, sinova Eliabova; a odvrneta: Midva ne greva tja gori.

¹³Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us?

¹³Je li premalo, da si nas peljal iz dežele, v kateri teče mleko in med, da nas pomoriš v puščavi? Hočeš li se vzdigniti celo še za vladarja nad nami?

¹⁴Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.

¹⁴Saj nas nisi pripeljal v deželo, v kateri teče mleko in med, in nisi nam dal njiv in vinogradov v posest! Hočeš li še oči izdreti tem ljudem? Midva ne greva tja gori.

¹⁵And Moses was very wroth, and said unto the LORD, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.

¹⁵Tedaj se silno razsrdi Mojzes in reče GOSPODU: Ne ozri se na njih jedilno daritev. Niti osliča nisem vzel od njih in nikoli nikomur izmed njih nisem storil kaj žalega.

¹⁶And Moses said unto Korah, Be thou and all thy company before the LORD, thou, and they, and Aaron, to morrow:

¹⁶Nato veli Mojzes Korahu: Ti in vsa družba tvoja stopite jutri pred GOSPODA, ti, oni in Aron,

¹⁷And take every man his censer, and put incense in them, and bring ye before the LORD every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and Aaron, each of you his censer.

¹⁷in vsakteri vzemi kadilnico svojo in deni vanjo kadila, in prinesite pred GOSPODA vsak svojo kadilnico, torej dvestoinpetdeset kadilnic, tudi ti in Aron, vsak svojo kadilnico.

¹⁸And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and Aaron.

¹⁸Vzame torej vsak svojo kadilnico ter položi vanjo ognja in dene nanj kadila, in postavijo se pri vhodu shodnega šatora z Mojzesom in Aronom.

¹⁹And Korah gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the congregation.

¹⁹In Korah zbere zoper njiju vso občino pred vhod shodnega šatora. A slava GOSPODOVA se prikaže vsej množici.

²⁰And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

²⁰Tedaj ogovori GOSPOD Mojzesa in Arona, rekoč:

²¹Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.

²¹Ločita se iz te občine, da jih namah pokončam!

²²And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?

²²Ona pa padeta na obličje svoje ter vzklikneta: O Bog mogočni, Bog duhov vsega mesa! Ta eden greši, in hočeš se li jeziti nad občino vso?

²³And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

²³Nato veli GOSPOD Mojzesu:

²⁴Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.

²⁴Govori občini in reci: Umeknite se iz okoliša šatora Korahovega, Datanovega in Abiramovega.

²⁵And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.

²⁵In Mojzes vstane in gre k Datanu in Abiramu, in starejšine Izraelovi ga spremljajo.

²⁶And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.

²⁶In ogovori občino, rekoč: Odstopite, prosim, od šatorov teh brezbožnih ljudi in ne doteknite se nobene njih reči, da ne poginete v vseh njih grehih.

²⁷So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.

²⁷In umaknejo se od bivališč Koraha, Datana in Abirama na vseh straneh; Datan in Abiram pa prideta ven ter se postavita ob vhodu šatorov svojih s svojima ženama in s sinovi in otročiči svojimi.

²⁸And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.

²⁸In Mojzes reče: Po tem spoznate, da me je GOSPOD poslal, da naj izvršim vsa ta dela, in da niso prišla iz mojega srca:

²⁹If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.

²⁹Ako umrjo ti z navadno smrtjo vseh ljudi in bodo kaznovani, kakor se kaznujejo vsi ljudje, tedaj me ni poslal GOSPOD.

³⁰But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.

³⁰Ako pa ustvari GOSPOD novo stvar, da odpre zemlja svoje žrelo ter jih požre z vsem, kar imajo, da se živi pogreznejo v kraj mrtvih: tedaj spoznajte, da so ti možje zaničevali GOSPODA.

³¹And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:

³¹In zgodi se, brž ko je izgovoril vse te besede, da razpoknejo tla pod njimi,

³²And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.

³²in zemlja odpre svoje žrelo ter jih požre ž njih družinami in vsemi pristaši Korahovimi in z vsem, kar so imeli.

³³They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.

³³Tako se pogreznejo z vsem, kar so imeli, živi v kraj mrtvih [Hebr. šeol.], in zemlja se zapre nad njimi, in poginili so izmed občine.

³⁴And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.

³⁴In vsi Izraelci, ki so bili okoli njih, zbeže ob njih vpitju; zakaj dejali so: Da nas ne požre zemlja!

³⁵And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

³⁵Pa tudi ogenj šine od GOSPODA in požre tistih dvesto in petdeset mož, ki so darovali kadilo.

³⁶And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

³⁶Tedaj ogovori GOSPOD Mojzesa, rekoč:

³⁷Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are hallowed.

³⁷Véli Eleazarju, sinu Arona duhovnika, naj pobere kadilnice na pogorišču, ogenj pa raztresi tja daleč; kajti posvečene so,

³⁸The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.

³⁸namreč kadilnice onih grešnikov, ki so grešili zoper duše svoje, in razkuj jih na široke ploče v prevleko oltarja; ker so v njih darovali pred GOSPODOM, zato so svete, in naj bodo v znamenje sinovom Izraelovim.

³⁹And Eleazar the priest took the brazen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar:

³⁹Vzame torej Eleazar, duhovnik, bronaste kadilnice, v katerih so darovali tisti, ki jih je požrl ogenj, in jih razkuje v prevleko oltarja:

⁴⁰To be a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.

⁴⁰za spomin sinovom Izraelovim, da naj ne pristopa zažigat kadila pred GOSPODOM noben nepoklicanec, ki ni iz rodu Aronovega, ker bi se mu zgodilo kakor Korahu in družbi njegovi - kakor mu je bil naročil GOSPOD po Mojzesu.

⁴¹But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD.

⁴¹A drugi dan je mrmrala vsa občina sinov Izraelovih zoper Mojzesa in Arona, govoreč: Vidva sta usmrtila ljudstvo GOSPODOVO.

⁴²And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.

⁴²In zgodi se, ko se je vsa množica zbirala zoper Mojzesa in Arona, da se ozro proti shodnemu šatoru, in glej, oblak ga pokrije in slava GOSPODOVA se prikaže.

⁴³And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation.

⁴³V tem prideta Mojzes in Aron k pročelju shodnega šatora.

⁴⁴And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

⁴⁴In GOSPOD ogovori Mojzesa, rekoč:

⁴⁵Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

⁴⁵Umeknita se izmed te občine, da jih namah pokončam. Tedaj padeta na obličje svoje;

⁴⁶And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.

⁴⁶In Mojzes veli Aronu: Vzemi kadilnico svojo in položi vanjo ognja z oltarja in deni nanj kadila in hitro nesi med občino ter stóri spravo zanje, zakaj jeza je že prišla od GOSPODA, šiba že razsaja.

⁴⁷And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.

⁴⁷Aron jo vzame, kakor je Mojzes rekel, in teče med zbor, in glej, šiba je že pokončavala med ljudstvom, in dene vanjo kadila ter stori spravo.

⁴⁸And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

⁴⁸In stal je med mrtvimi in živimi, in šiba je bila ustavljena.

⁴⁹Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah.

⁴⁹Tistih pa, ki so umrli v tem pomoru, je bilo štirinajst tisoč in sedemsto, razen onih, ki so umrli zaradi Koraha.In Aron se vrne k Mojzesu k vratom shodnega šatora, in šiba je bila ustavljena.

⁵⁰And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed.
