¹The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

¹{Psalm Davidov.} GOSPOD je luč moja in rešitev moja, koga bi se bal? GOSPOD je življenja mojega obrana, koga bi se plašil?

²When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

²Ko so se mi bližali hudobniki, da pojedo moje meso, zatiralci moji in sovražilci moji, spoteknili so se in padli.

³Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

³Če bi se vojska utaborila proti meni, brez strahu mi je srce, če bi nastal boj zoper mene, upajoč še veselim se tega.

⁴One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

⁴Eno sem prosil GOSPODA, to samo želim: da smem bivati v hiši GOSPODOVI vse dni življenja svojega, da gledam lepoto GOSPODOVO in jo preiskujem v svetišču njegovem.

⁵For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

⁵Kajti on me skrije v koči svoji ob dnevu nesreče, prikrije me v skrivališču šatora svojega in me vzdigne na skalo.

⁶And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

⁶In tako bo povišana glava moja nad sovražnike moje, stoječe okrog mene, in daroval bom v šatoru njegovem daritve glasnega veselja, pel bom in psalme citral GOSPODU.

⁷Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

⁷Sliši me, o GOSPOD, ko kličem z glasom svojim, usmili se me in odgovóri mi!

⁸When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.

⁸Ker veliš: Iščite obličje moje! srce moje ti govori: Obličje tvoje bom iskal, GOSPOD.

⁹Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

⁹Ne skrivaj mi obličja svojega, ne zapodi v jezi hlapca svojega; pomoč moja si bil, ne zavrzi me in ne zapusti me, o Bog zveličanja mojega.

¹⁰When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

¹⁰Kajti oče moj in mati moja sta me zapustila, GOSPOD pa me k sebi privije.

¹¹Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

¹¹Uči me, GOSPOD, svoj pot in vodi me po ravni stezi zavoljo njih, ki name preže.

¹²Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

¹²Ne izdajaj me želji zatiralcev mojih, ker zoper mene stoje lažnive priče in ki pihajo silovitost.

¹³I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

¹³Ko bi ne veroval, da bom užival dobroto GOSPODOVO v deželi živečih, bi bil poginil.Čakaj GOSPODA, bodi močan in naj se ohrabri srce tvoje, da čakaj GOSPODA!

¹⁴Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
