²God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

²Bog je z neba gledal doli na sinove človeške, da bi videl, je li kateri razumen, je li kdo, ki išče Boga.

³Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

³Vsak izmed njih je odstopil, izpridili so se vsi vkup; ni ga, ki bi delal dobro, ne enega samega.

⁴Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.

⁴Ali so docela brezpametni, kateri delajo krivico, ki žró ljudstvo moje, kakor bi jedli kruh, Boga pa ne kličejo?

⁵There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

⁵Tam so se preplašili od groze, kjer ni bilo groze; ker Bog je razsul kosti vsakega, ki se je utaboril zoper tebe; osramotil si jih, ker Bog jih je zavrgel.O da bi prišlo zveličanje s Siona Izraelu! Ko bo Bog nazaj peljal iz sužnosti ljudstvo svoje, veselil se bo Jakob, radoval se Izrael.

⁶Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

⁶O da bi prišlo zveličanje s Siona Izraelu! Ko bo Bog nazaj peljal iz sužnosti ljudstvo svoje, veselil se bo Jakob, radoval se Izrael.
