¹But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

¹Zvino iwe taura zvinhu zvakafanira dzidziso mhenyu.

²That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

²Varume vakuru kuti vave vakadzikama, vanokudzwa, vakangwara, vapenyu parutendo, parudo, pakutsungirira;

³The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

³saizvozvowo vakadzi vakuru, kuti pamafambiro vave sezvakafanira utsvene, kwete vacheri, kana vanokarira waini zhinji, vadzidzisi vezvinhu zvakanaka,

⁴That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

⁴kuti vadzidzise vakadzi vaduku kusvinura mufungwa, kuda varume vavo, nekuda vana vavo,

⁵To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

⁵vakachenjera, vakachena, vachengeti vemisha, vakanaka, vanoteerera varume vavo, kuti shoko raMwari rirege kunyombwa.

⁶Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

⁶Varume vaduku saizvozvo ukurudzire kuti vave vakasvinura;

⁷In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

⁷pazvinhu zvose iwe uzviratidze semufananidzo wamabasa akanaka, padzidziso isakasvibiswa, nemugariro unokudzwa nekuvimbika,

⁸Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

⁸nhauro yakagwinya isingagoni kushoorwa, kuti uyo wedivi rinopikisa anyare, asina chinhu chakaipa chaangareva pamusoro penyu.

⁹Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

⁹Kurudzira varanda kuzviisa pasi pavatenzi vavo, kuti vafadze pazvose, vasingakakavari,

¹⁰Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

¹⁰vasingabi, asi varatidze kutendeka kwakanaka kose, kuti vashongedze dzidziso yaMwari Muponesi wedu pazvinhu zvose.

¹¹For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

¹¹Nekuti nyasha dzaMwari dzinoponesa dzakaratidzwa kuvanhu vose,

¹²Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

¹²Dzichitidzidzisa kuti, tichiramba kusava neuMwari nekuchiva kwenyika, tirarame nekusvinura, kururama neuMwari panyika yazvino,

¹³Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

¹³tichimirira tariro yakaropafadzwa, nekuratidzwa kwekubwinya kwaMwari mukuru neMuponesi wedu Jesu Kristu.

¹⁴Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

¹⁴wakazvipa nekuda kwedu, kuti atidzikinure pakuipa kose, kuti azvinatsire vanhu vakasanangurwa, vanoshingairira mabasa akanaka.

¹⁵These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

¹⁵Taura zvinhu izvi, ukurudzire, utsiure nesimba rose; kurege kuva nomunhu unokuzvidza.
