1 Peter

3

1Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
1 Yaadin mo no, araŋ kaŋ ga ti wandey: w'araŋ boŋ ye ganda araŋ kurnyey se, gaa no baa da afooyaŋ go no kaŋ siino ga sanno gana, araŋ m'i candi, manti nda sanno, amma araŋ daa sabbay se,
2While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
2 waati kaŋ i g'araŋ ndunnya goray hanna d'araŋ lalabo guna.
3Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
4 Amma araŋ taalamo ma ciya bina ra wane, kaŋ ga ti lalabu nda bine baani biya*. Woodin si halaci, a gonda nafa beeri mo Irikoy jine.
5For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
5 Zama yaadin cine no waato wayboro hanantey kaŋ yaŋ de Irikoy gaa na ngey boŋ taalam d'a, kaŋ i na ngey boŋ ye ganda ngey kurnyey se.
6Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
7Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
7 Yaadin mo no, araŋ kaŋ ga ti kurnyey: wa goro nd'araŋ wandey ka faham ka bay kaŋ i gaabo mana to alboro wane. W'i beerandi mo zama i ga fundi gomno tubu araŋ banda.
8Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
8 Woodin banda, araŋ boro kulu, araŋ ma te laakal folloŋ da bine hanno. Wa nya-izetaray baakasinay cabe care se. Wa bara nda bakaraw da lalabu.
9Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
10For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
10 Zama «Boro kaŋ ga ba fundi, kaŋ ga ba nga ma di jirbi hanney mo, Kal a ma nga deena gaay laala ciyaŋ gaa, a meyo mo ma si gulinci salaŋ.
11Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
11 A ma fay da goy laalo ka ihanno te, A ma laakal kanay ceeci k'a gana mo.
12For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
12 Zama Rabbi moy go adilantey gaa, A hangey mo go feerante i ŋwaarayyaŋey se. Amma Rabbi moyduma ga bare ka gaaba nda goy laalo teekoy.»
13And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
13 May no bora kaŋ ga hari laalo te araŋ se d'araŋ gonda anniya goy hanno teeyaŋ se?
14But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
15But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
15 Amma wa Almasihu beerandi k'a ciya Rabbi araŋ biney ra.
16Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
16 Wa bara nda bine lasaabu hanno, hala haŋ kaŋ ra i g'araŋ wow k'araŋ Almasihu ra goray hanna ciinay da laala, haawi m'i di.
17For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
18For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
18 Zama Almasihu bu zunubey sabbay se sorro folloŋ. Nga kaŋ ga ti adilitaraykoy, a n'a te no borey kaŋ sinda adilitaray se zama a ma konda iri Irikoy do. I n'a wi gaaham ra, amma Biya _Hanno|_ n'a funandi.
19By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
19 Biya din ra mo no a koy ka waazu te biyey kaŋ go kasu ra se,
20Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
20 borey kaŋ mana Irikoy gana doŋ, waato kaŋ Irikoy goono ga hangan da suuru Nuhu jirbey ra, waato kaŋ Nuhu goono ga hiyo cina. A ra mo, boro fooyaŋ, ngey boro ahakku no, du faaba haro gaa.
21The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
21 Woodin ya misa no baptisma* se kaŋ g'araŋ faaba sohõ. Baptisma din, manti gaaham ziibi kaayaŋ no bo, amma anniya sambuyaŋ no kaŋ ga fun bine lasaabu hanno ra ka koy Irikoy do. A g'araŋ faaba Yesu Almasihu tunyaŋo do.
22Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
22 A koy beena ra. A go Irikoy kamba ŋwaaro gaa.
