¹And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

¹ДАР он замоне ки Апӯллӯс дар Қуринтус буд, Павлус дар кишварҳои боло гардиш карда, ба Эфсӯс расид ва дар он ҷо шогирдонро ёфта,

²He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

²Ба онҳо гуфт: «Оё вақте ки имон овардед, Рӯҳулкудсро қабул кардед?» Ба ӯ гуфтанд: «Ҳатто нашунидаем, ки Рӯҳулкудс вуҷуд дорад».

³And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

³Ба онҳо гуфт: «Пас чӣ навъ таъмид гирифтец?» Гуфтанд: «Таъмиди Яҳьё».

⁴Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

⁴Павлус гуфт: «Таъмиде ки Яҳьё медод, таъмиди тавба буд, ва ӯ ба мардум мегуфт: "Ба Он Касе ки баъд аз ман меояд, яъне ба Исои Масеҳ имон оваред"».

⁵When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

⁵Чун инро шуниданд, ба исми Исои Худованд таъмид гирифтанд,

⁶And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

⁶Ва ҳангоме ки Павлус дастҳои худро бар сари онҳо ниҳод, Рӯҳулқудс бар онҳо нозил шуд, ва ба забонҳо сухан ронда, нубувват карданд.

⁷And all the men were about twelve.

⁷Онҳо тақрибан дувоздаҳ нафар буданд.

⁸And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

⁸Муддати се моҳ ӯ ба куништ даромада, нотарс мавъиза менамуд ва дар бораи Малакути Худо мусоҳиба мекард ва далелҳо меовард.

⁹But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

⁹Вале азбаски баъзе касон сахтдил буданд ва имон намеоварданд ва дар ҳаққи ин тариқат дар пеши мардум бадзабонӣ мекарданд, бинобар ин аз онҳо худро канор гирифта, шогирдонро ҷудо кард ва ҳар рӯз дар мадрасаи Тиронус ном шахсе мавъиза менамуд.

¹⁰And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

¹⁰Ин тақрибан ду сол давом кард, ба тавре ки ҳамаи сокинони вилояти Осиё, ҳам яҳудиён ва ҳам юнониён, каломи Исои Худовандро шуниданд.

¹¹And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

¹¹Худо ба василаи Павлус мӯъҷизоти бузурге ба амал меовард,

¹²So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

¹²То ба ҳадде ки дастмолҳо ва фӯтаҳои ба бадани ӯ расидаро бурда, бар беморҳо мегузоштанд, ва бемории онҳо нест мешуд, ва арвоҳи ҳабис аз онҳо берун мерафт.

¹³Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

¹³Хдтто баъзе аз азоимхонҳои оворагарди яҳудӣ ҳам бар онҳое ки мубталои рӯҳи хабис буданд, исми Исои Худовандро зикр карда, мегуфтанд: «Шуморо ба Исое ки Павлус мавъиза менамояд, қасам медиҳем».

¹⁴And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

¹⁴Ҳафт нафар писарони Искиво ном шахсе ки яке аз саркоҳинони яҳудй буд, ҳамин тавр амал мекарданд.

¹⁵And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

¹⁵Аммо рӯҳи хабис дар ҷавоби онҳо гуфт: «Исоро мешиносам, Павлусро низ медонам, лекин шумо кистед?»

¹⁶And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

¹⁶Марде ки рӯҳи хабис дошт, бо чунон куввате ба онҳо дарафтод, ки ҳама мағлуб шуданд ва дар ҳолате ки бараҳна ва маҷрӯҳ буданд, аз он хона гурехтанд.

¹⁷And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

¹⁷Ин вокеа ба гӯши ҳамаи яҳудиён ва юнониёни сокини Эфсӯс расида, ҳамаро ба ҳарос андохт, ва исми Исои Худованд дар миёни онҳо бештар иззату икром пайдо кард;

¹⁸And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

¹⁸Бисьёре аз имондорон омада, аъмоли худро иқрор ва ошкор мекарданд;

¹⁹Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

¹⁹Бисьёре аз онҳое ки ба ҷодугарӣ машғул буданд, китобҳои худро оварда, дар пеши назари ҳама сӯзонданд; вакте ки арзиши онҳоро ҳисоб карданд, маълум шуд, ки баробари панҷоҳ ҳазор дирҳам аст.

²⁰So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

²⁰Каломи Худо ҳамин тавр қувват мегирифт ва интишор меёфт.

²¹After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

²¹Пас аз анҷоми ин чизҳо, Павлус дар дили худ азм кард, ки аз Мақдуния ва Охоия гузашта, ба Ерусалим биравад, ва гуфт: «Баъд аз рафтанам ба он ҷо> Румро низ бояд бубинам».

²²So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.

²²Аз мулозимонаш ду нафарро, яъне Тимотиюс ва Арастусро, ба Мақдуния равона карца, худаш муддате дар вилояти Осиё бимонд.

²³And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.

²³Дар он замон исьени азиме бар зидди тариқи Худованд рӯй дод;

²⁴For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;

²⁴Зеро ки Димитриюс ном нуқрагаре ки тасвирҳои нуқрагини маъбади Артамисро месохт ва ба ин васила ба санъатгарон фоидаи калоне мерасонд,

²⁵Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

²⁵Онҳоро, ҳамчунин ҳунармандони дигарро ҷамъ оварда, гуфт: «Эй мардумон! Шумо медонед, ки некӯаҳволии мо аз пушти ҳамин ҳунар аст,

²⁶Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:

²⁶«Ва шумо дида ва шунида истодаед, ки на танҳо дар Эфсӯс, балки қариб дар тамоми вилояти Осиё ин Павлус мардуми бисьёрро иғво андохта, гумроҳ кардааст, ва мегӯяд: "Чизҳои сохтаи дасти инсон худо нестанд".

²⁷So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

²⁷«Пас, хавфи он аст, ки на танҳо ҳунари мо аз байн равад, балки ин маъбади олиҳаи бузурги мо Артамис низ беэътибор шавад, ва ҳашамати вай, ки тамоми вилояти Осиё ва аҳли олам парастишаш мекунанд, беқурб гардад».

²⁸And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

²⁸Вакте ки ин суханонро шуниданд, онҳо хеле ба хашм омада, фарьёд заданд: «Бузург аст Артамиси эфсӯсиён!»

²⁹And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.

²⁹Тамоми шаҳр ба шӯр омада, ҳама якдилона сӯи тамошохона тохтанд ва Ғоюс ва Ористархусро, ки аз аҳли Мақдуния ва ҳамроҳони Павлус буданд, дастгир карда, бо худ кашида бурданд.

³⁰And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.

³⁰Павлус мехост, ки ба миёни мардум дарояд, аммо шогирдон ӯро намонданд;

³¹And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.

³¹Ҳамчунин баъзе аз сардорони вилояти Осиё, ки дӯстонаш буданд, назди ӯ кас фиристода, таъкид карданд, ки ба тамошохона набиёяд.

³²Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.

³²Дар ин миён баъзе касон дод зада, чизе мегуфтанд, касони дигар - чизи дигаре; зеро ки ҷамоат ошуфтаҳол буданд ва аксари онҳо намедонистанд, ки барои чӣ ҷамъ шудаанд.

³³And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.

³³Аз миёни издиҳом Искандарро кашола карданд, чунки яҳудиён ӯро пеш андохта буцанд, ва Искандар бо дасташ ишора намуда, хост барои муҳофизати худ ба мардум сухане бигӯяд.

³⁴But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

³⁴Аммо, чун яҳудӣ буданашро донистанд, ҳама бо як овоз дод заданд ва қариб ду соат нидо мекарданд: «Бузург аст Артамиси эфсӯсиён!»

³⁵And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

³⁵Нозири низом мардумро сокит карда, гуфт: «Эй мардони Эфсӯс! Кӣ намедонад, ки шаҳри Эфсӯс парастандаи маъбади Артамиси олиҳаи бузург ва ҳайкали аз осмон нозилшудаи вай мебошад?

³⁶Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.

³⁶«Модоме ки ин баҳснопазир аст, шуморо лозим аст, ки ором бошед ва рафтори бемулоҳизае накунед;

³⁷For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.

³⁷«Зеро ин шахсоне ки шумо овардаед, на тороҷкунандагони маъбаданд ва на дар ҳакхи олиҳаи шумо суханикуфромез гуфтаанд;

³⁸Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.

³⁸гАгар Димитриюс ва ҳамкоронаш даъвое бар касе дошта бошанд, инак дари маҳкамаҳо кушода, волиён низ ҳозиранд: бигзор ба онҳо шикоятҳои худро оварда сулоранд;

³⁹But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.

³⁹«Вале агар талаби дигаре дошта бошед, он бояд дар маҳкамаи шаръӣ яктарафа шавад;

⁴⁰For we are in danger to be called in question for this day's uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.

⁴⁰«Зеро хавфи он аст, ки мо барои рафтори имрӯза ба балвогарӣ айбдор шавем, ва мо ҳеҷ далеле надорем, ки барои чунин ҷамъомад онро сабаб нишон диҳем». Инро гуфта, издиҳомро пароканда кард.

⁴¹And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.
