1And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
1ภายหลังเหตุการณ์เหล่านี้ข้าพเจ้าก็ได้เห็นทูตสวรรค์อีกองค์หนึ่งลงมาจากสวรรค์ ท่านมีอำนาจใหญ่ยิ่ง และรัศมีของท่านได้ทำให้แผ่นดินโลกสว่างไป
2And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
2ท่านได้ร้องประกาศด้วยเสียงกึกก้องว่า "บาบิโลนมหานครล่มจมแล้ว ล่มจมแล้ว กลายเป็นที่อาศัยของผีปิศาจ เป็นที่คุมขังของผีโสโครกทุกอย่าง และเป็นกรงของนกทุกอย่างที่ไม่สะอาดและน่าเกลียด
3For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
3เพราะว่าประชาชาติทั้งปวงได้ดื่มเหล้าองุ่นแห่งความเดือดดาลในการล่วงประเวณีของนครนั้น และบรรดากษัตริย์บนแผ่นดินโลกได้ล่วงประเวณีกับนครนั้น และพ่อค้าทั้งหลายแห่งแผ่นดินโลกก็ได้มั่งมีขึ้นด้วยทรัพย์ฟุ่มเฟือยของนครนั้น"
4And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
4และข้าพเจ้าได้ยินเสียงอีกเสียงหนึ่งประกาศมาจากสวรรค์ว่า "ชนชาติของเรา จงออกมาจากนครนั้นเถิด เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะไม่มีส่วนในการบาปของนครนั้น และเพื่อท่านจะไม่ต้องรับภัยพิบัติที่จะเกิดแก่นครนั้น
5For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
5เพราะว่าบาปของนครนั้นกองสูงขึ้นถึงสวรรค์แล้ว และพระเจ้าได้ทรงจำความชั่วช้าแห่งนครนั้นได้
6Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
6นครนั้นได้ให้ผลอย่างไร ก็จงให้ผลแก่นครนั้นอย่างนั้น และจงตอบแทนการกระทำของนครนั้นเป็นสองเท่า ในถ้วยที่นครนั้นได้ผสมไว้ก็จงผสมลงเป็นสองเท่าให้นครนั้น
7How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
7นครนั้นได้เย่อหยิ่งจองหองและมีชีวิตอย่างหรูหรามากเท่าใด ก็จงให้นครนั้นได้รับการทรมานและความระทมทุกข์มากเท่านั้น เพราะว่านครนั้นทะนงใจว่า `เราดำรงอยู่ในตำแหน่งราชินี ไม่ใช่หญิงม่าย เราจะไม่ประสบความระทมทุกข์เลย'
8Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
8เหตุฉะนั้น ภัยพิบัติต่างๆของนครนั้นจะเกิดขึ้นในวันเดียว ความตาย และความระทมทุกข์ การกันดารอาหาร และไฟจะเผานครนั้นให้พินาศหมดสิ้น เพราะว่าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระเจ้า ผู้ทรงพิพากษานครนั้น ทรงอานุภาพยิ่งใหญ่"
9And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
9บรรดากษัตริย์แห่งแผ่นดินโลกที่ได้ล่วงประเวณีกับนครนั้น และได้มีชีวิตอย่างหรูหราร่วมกันนั้น เมื่อได้เห็นควันไฟที่ไหม้นครนั้น ก็จะพิลาปร่ำไห้คร่ำครวญเพราะนครนั้น
10Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
10พวกกษัตริย์จะยืนอยู่แต่ห่างๆเพราะกลัวภัยแห่งการทรมานของนครนั้น และจะกล่าวว่า "อนิจจาเอ๋ย อนิจจาเอ๋ย บาบิโลนมหานครที่ยิ่งใหญ่ นครที่แข็งแรง เพราะเจ้าได้รับการพิพากษาโทษให้พินาศไปภายในชั่วโมงเดียวเท่านั้น"
11And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
11บรรดาพ่อค้าในแผ่นดินโลกจะร่ำไห้คร่ำครวญเพราะนครนั้น เพราะว่าไม่มีใครซื้อสินค้าของเขาอีกต่อไปแล้ว
12The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
12สินค้าเหล่านั้นคือ ทองคำ เงิน เพชรพลอยต่างๆ ไข่มุก ผ้าป่านเนื้อละเอียด ผ้าสีม่วง ผ้าไหม ผ้าสีแดงเข้ม ไม้หอมทุกชนิด บรรดาภาชนะที่ทำด้วยงา บรรดาภาชนะไม้ที่มีราคามาก ภาชนะทองสัมฤทธิ์ ภาชนะเหล็ก ภาชนะหินอ่อน
13And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
13อบเชย เครื่องเทศ เครื่องหอม กำยาน เหล้าองุ่น น้ำมัน ยอดแป้ง ข้าวสาลี สัตว์ต่างๆ แกะ ม้า รถรบ และทาส และชีวิตมนุษย์
14And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
14และผลซึ่งจิตของเจ้ากระหายใคร่ได้นั้นก็ล่วงพ้นไปจากเจ้าแล้ว สิ่งสารพัดอันวิเศษยิ่งและหรูหราก็พินาศไปจากเจ้าแล้ว และเจ้าจะไม่ได้พบมันอีกเลย
15The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
15บรรดาพ่อค้าที่ได้ขายสิ่งของเหล่านั้น จนเป็นคนมั่งมีเพราะนครนั้น จะยืนอยู่แต่ไกลเพราะกลัวภัยจากการทรมานของนครนั้น พวกเขาจะร้องไห้คร่ำครวญด้วยเสียงดัง
16And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
16ว่า "อนิจจาเอ๋ย อนิจจาเอ๋ย มหานครนั้น ที่ได้นุ่งห่มผ้าป่านเนื้อละเอียด ผ้าสีม่วง และผ้าสีแดงเข้ม ที่ได้ประดับด้วยทองคำ เพชรพลอยต่างๆและไข่มุกนั้น
17For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
17เพียงในชั่วโมงเดียว ทรัพย์สมบัติอันยิ่งใหญ่นั้นก็พินาศสูญไปสิ้น" และนายเรือทุกคน คนที่โดยสารเรือ พวกลูกเรือ และคนทั้งหลายที่มีอาชีพทางทะเล ก็ได้ยืนอยู่แต่ห่างๆ
18And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
18และเมื่อคนเหล่านั้นได้เห็นควันไฟที่ไหม้นครนั้นก็ร้องว่า "นครใดเล่าจะเป็นเหมือนมหานครนี้"
19And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
19และเขาทั้งหลายก็โปรยผงคลีลงบนศีรษะของตน พลางร้องไห้คร่ำครวญว่า "อนิจจาเอ๋ย อนิจจาเอ๋ย มหานครนั้น อันเป็นที่ซึ่งคนทั้งปวงที่มีเรือกำปั่นเดินทะเลได้กลายเป็นคนมั่งมีด้วยเหตุจากสิ่งของมีค่าของนครนั้น เพราะภายในชั่วโมงเดียวนครนั้นก็เป็นที่รกร้างไป"
20Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
20เมืองสวรรค์ พวกอัครสาวกอันบริสุทธิ์ และพวกศาสดาพยากรณ์ทั้งหลาย จงร่าเริงยินดีเพราะนครนั้นเถิด เพราะพระเจ้าทรงแก้แค้นต่อนครนั้นให้ท่านทั้งหลายแล้ว
21And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
21แล้วทูตสวรรค์องค์หนึ่งที่มีฤทธิ์มาก ก็ได้ยกหินก้อนหนึ่งเหมือนหินโม่ใหญ่ทุ่มลงไปในทะเลแล้วว่า "บาบิโลนมหานครนั้นจะถูกทุ่มลงโดยแรงอย่างนี้แหละ และจะไม่มีใครเห็นนครนั้นอีกต่อไปเลย
22And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
22และจะไม่มีใครได้ยินเสียงนักดีดพิณเขาคู่ นักเล่นมโหรี นักเป่าปี่ และนักเป่าแตร ในเจ้าอีกต่อไป และในเจ้าจะไม่มีช่างในวิชาช่างต่างๆอีกต่อไป และจะไม่มีใครได้ยินเสียงโม่แป้งในเจ้าอีกต่อไป
23And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
23และในเจ้าจะไม่มีแสงประทีปส่องสว่างอีกต่อไป และจะไม่มีใครได้ยินเสียงเจ้าบ่าวเจ้าสาวในเจ้าอีกต่อไป เพราะว่าบรรดาพ่อค้าของเจ้าได้เป็นคนใหญ่โตแห่งแผ่นดินโลกแล้ว และโดยวิทยาคมของเจ้าได้ล่อลวงบรรดาประชาชาติให้ลุ่มหลง
24And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
24และในนครนั้นเขาได้พบโลหิตของพวกศาสดาพยากรณ์และพวกวิสุทธิชน และบรรดาคนที่ถูกฆ่าบนแผ่นดินโลก"
