Hebrews

11

1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
1To ra'uli' pepangala', batua-na: napa to tasarumaka hi Alata'ala, taparasaya bate madupa' mpai'. Pepangala', batua-na: nau' ko'ia tahiloi lence-na to tapopea, monoa' hi rala nono-ta karia-na mpai'.
2For by it the elders obtained a good report.
2Ngkai pepangala' -ra, tauna tempo owi napokagoe' Alata'ala.
3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
3Ngkai pepangala' -ta, ta'inca langi' pai' dunia' napajadi' Alata'ala hante lolita-na-wadi. Jadi', hawe'ea to tahilo, nababehi ngkai to uma kahiloa.
4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
4Ngkai pepangala' -na Habel, pai' -i mpotonu pepue' -na hi Alata'ala to meliu kalompe' -na ngkai pepue' to natonu Kain tuaka-na. Ta'inca kamepangala' -na, apa' Alata'ala goe' mpotarima pepue' -na, pai' ngkai pepangala' -na toe, Alata'ala mpo'uli' kamonoa' -na. Mate-imi Habel, aga ma'ala-mi ta'uli' mololita-i-pidi duu' tempo tohe'i.
5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
5Ngkai pepangala' -na Henokh, uma-i-hana mate, ra'ongko' tuwu' -tuwu' -i ngkai dunia' toi. Uma hema to mporua' woto-na, apa' Alata'ala mpo'ongko' -i ngkai dunia' toi. Hi rala Buku Tomoroli' te'uki': kako'ia-na Henokh ra'ongko', Alata'ala mpokagoe' -i.
6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
6Jadi' monoto-mi ta'inca karia pepangala' -na, apa' uma ria tauna to napokagoe' Alata'ala ane uma-ra mepangala'. Apa' tauna to dota mpomohui' Alata'ala kana mparasaya hewa toi: Alata'ala bate ria, pai' bate nahiwili kehi butu dua tauna to mpu'u-mpu'u mpopali' -i.
7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
8Ngkai pepangala' -na Abraham, natuku' hawa' Alata'ala. Alata'ala mpokio' -i pai' nahubui-i hilou hi ngata to molaa, na'uli' -ki: "Ngata toe mpai' ria, jadi' bagia-nu pai' muli-muli-nu." Jadi', nau' uma na'incai hiapa kahilouaa-na, pe'ongko' -nami hilou ntuku' hawa' Alata'ala.
9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
9Karata-na hi ngata toe, napangala' oa' janci Alata'ala to mpo'uli' katana' -na toe mpai' jadi' bagia-na pai' bagia muli-na. Alata'ala mojanci hewa toe wo'o hi ana' Abraham to rahanga' Ishak pai' kumpu-na to rahanga' Yakub. Tapi' nau' tana' toe bagia-ra moto ntuku' janci Alata'ala, mo'oha' -ra hewa torata-wadi hi tana' toe. Mo'oha' -ra hi rala kemah.
10For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
10Abraham mo'oha' hi rala kemah, apa' napopea-pidi ngata to moroho parawatu-na, to napajadi' pai' to nawangu Alata'ala moto.
11Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
11Ngkai pepangala' -ra, nau' tu'a-imi Abraham, pai' Sara lalo wo'o-i, mporata moto-ra karohoa mporata ana'. Toe jadi' apa' monoto hi nono Abraham kanapadupa' -na moto mpai' Alata'ala janci-na.
12Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
12Nto'u toe, hewa to mate-mi woto-na Abraham apa' tu'a-imi. Aga nau' wae, apa' lawi' ria-hana pepangala' -na, ngkai Abraham toe-imi mehupa' wori' muli-na, to uma tebila' kadea-ra, hewa kawori' betue' hi langi', pai' hewa kawori' wo'one hi wiwi' tahi'.
13These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
13Hawe'ea tauna toera tida mepangala' duu' hi kamatea-ra, ko'ia raratai napa to najanci-raka Alata'ala. Ma'ala-mi ta'uli': rahilo ngkawao-pidi kadupa' -na. Ra'inca moto kamahae-na-pidi kadupa' -na, aga nau' wae uma morara' nono-ra hi pojanci Alata'ala. Goe' moto-ra mpopea kadupa' -na, pai' ra'uli': katuwu' -ra hi dunia' toi hewa torata to mo'oha' hampai' -wadi.
14For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
14Tauna to mpo'uli' hewa toe, monoto-mi kampopali' -ra ngata to rakatidai.
15And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
15Bela ngata to rapalahii-mi wengi to rakalentorai. Apa' ane ke ngata toe to rakalentorai, ria moto loga-ra nculii' hi ngata toe.
16But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
16Bo ngata to rakalentorai toe, ngata to meliu kalompe' -na, toe-mi ngata suruga. Toe pai' Alata'ala uma me'ea' rakahangai' Pue' -ra, apa' naporodo-miraka hi suruga.
17By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18Ngkai pepangala' -na Abraham, pai' -i mpotonu Ishak ana' -na naponcawa pepue' -na hi Alata'ala, nto'u Alata'ala mponciloi pepangala' -na. Lomo' -na Alata'ala mpo'uli' -ki hewa toi: "Ngkai ana' -nu tetu-mi mpai', mporata-ko muli to wori', hewa to kujanci-kokoe." Aga nau' wae, sadia moto-i Abraham mpotonu ana' -na to hadudua toe bona rasumale'.
18Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
19Apa' na'uli' Abraham, mobaraka' moto-i Alata'ala mpotuwu' nculii' Ishak ngkai kamatea-na. Jadi', ma'ala-mi ta'uli': narata nculii' moto ana' -na ngkai kamatea.
19Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
20Ngkai pepangala' -na Ishak, pai' -i mpogane' Yakub pai' Esau, pai' -i mpolowa napa to jadi' hi eo mpeno-na.
20By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21Ngkai pepangala' -na Yakub, kaneo' -na mate-imi nagane' -ramo ana' Yusuf to rodua, pai' -i mponyompa Alata'ala bula-na mpetituku woo' -na hi wuntu lua' -na.
21By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
22Ngkai pepangala' -na Yusuf, nto'u neo' modupe' -mi inoha' -na, nalowa ami' palai-ra mpai' muli Israel ngkai tana' Mesir. Pai' -i mo'iwili na'uli': "Ane malai-pokoi mpai' ngkai Mesir, wuku-ku kana nikeni."
22By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
23Ngkai pepangala' -ra totu'a-na Musa, pai' -ra mpowuni-i tolu mula kahae-na ngkai kaputu-na. Rahilo kasubo' -na, pai' uma-ra me'eka' mpotiboki hawa' raja Mesir.
23By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
24Ngkai pepangala' -na Musa, bohe-imi, oja' -i rakahangai' kumpu raja Mesir.
24By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25Apa' uma-i dota tuwu' goe' rala jeko' to hangkale'liu-wadi, na'agi-pi mporata kaparia hangkaa-ngkania hante ntodea Alata'ala.
25Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26Oja' -i mporata ka'uaa' hi tana' Mesir, na'agi-pi raruge' sabana pepangala' -na hi Magau' Topetolo' to rata ngkabokoa'. Apa' Musa ntora mpoimata-mata hiwili pepangala' -na to narata mpai' hi eo mpeno-na.
26Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
27Ngkai pepangala' -na, napalahii tana' Mesir, uma-i mpoka'eka' roe raja Mesir. Ntaha-i hi rala kasusaa', apa' mpohilo-imi-hana Alata'ala to uma kahiloa.
27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
28Ngkai pepangala' -na, nababehi ada eo bohe Paskah, nahubui-ra to Yahudi mpohiwe raa' hi wobo' tomi-ra, bona ane liu mpai' mala'eka to mepatehi, ana' ulumua' -ra uma rapohipatehii hante ana' ulumua' -ra to Mesir.
28Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29Ngkai pepangala' -ra to Yahudi owi, pai' -ra mpodongka' Tahi' Molei hewa to momako' hi role-na moto-ra-wadi. Hiaa' to Mesir-hana, mate matala-ramo hi rala tahi' bula-ra medongka' -pidi.
29By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
30Ngkai pepangala' -ra, ratololiki bente ngata Yerikho rala-na pitu eo, duu' -na motongka-mi bente-ra.
30By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
31Ngkai pepangala' -na Rahab, uma-i rapatehi hangkaa-ngkania hante hingka ngata-na, to uma-ra-rana mengkoru hi Alata'ala. Rahab toei, tobine to uma tumotoa gau' -na. Aga nto'u-na ba hangkuja dua-ra tantara to Yahudi hilou mpokamata ngata Yerikho, napopehani-ra hi tomi-na, pai' natulungi-ra.
31By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
32Ke wori' -pidi anu ku'uli', aga uma-pi wori' loga-ku. Hiaa' bo ko'ia kututura Gideon, Barak, Simson, Yefta, Daud, Samuel pai' nabi-nabi ntani' -na.
32And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
33Ngkai pepangala' -ra pai' alaa-na mpopengkoru-ra raja-raja, moparenta-ra hante kanoaa', mporata-ra to najanci-raka Alata'ala, mpo'ompo-ra nganga singa,
33Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.
34uma-ra mate hi rala apu to wewo', mpetiboi' -ra tauna to ngasa' mpatehi-ra, lente-ra, aga jadi' moroho moto-ra, bia' -ra hi rala panga'ea, mpodagi-ra tantara-tantara bali'.
34Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
35Ngkai pepangala' -ra, tobine-tobine mporata nculii' ana' -ra to mate-mi, rapotuwu' nculii' -raka. Aga ria wo'o-ra to rasesa' sabana pepangala' -ra duu' -ra mate, uma-ra dota rabahaka, apa' doko' rapotuwu' nculii' -ra pai' mporata katuwua' to meliu kalompe' -na.
35Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
36Ria-ra to rapopo'ore' pai' raweba', ria wo'o-ra to rahoo' pai' ratarungku'.
36And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37Ria-ra to rapana' hante watu duu' -ra mate, ria to rapua' hante garagaji', ria to rasumale'. Ria-ra to mpe'ahii' lia katuwu' -ra, pohea-ra muntu' kuliba bima pai' kuliba kebe' -wadi. Rabalinai' -ra pai' rasesa' -ra.
37They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38Metibo' -ra hilou hi papada to wao' pai' hi bulu' -na, mo'oha' -ra hi horoa watu. Hiaa' kakoo-kono-na, dunia' toi bela po'ohaa' to natao hi hira'.
38(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39Hawe'ea tauna toera napokagoe' Alata'ala sabana pepangala' -ra. Tapi' ko'ia raratai poko to najanci-raka.
39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40Ko'ia raratai, apa' Alata'ala mporodo-taka anu to meliu kalompe' -na, bona hinto'ua hante kita' mpai', pai' lako' rarata-di-rawo kalompea' to uma ria kakuraa' -na.
40God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
