Uma: New Testament

John

16

1These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
1"Hawe'ea tohe'i ku'uli' -kokoi, bona neo' mere' nono-ni duu' -na nibahakai mepangala' hi Aku'.
2They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
2Rapopalai-koi mpai' ngkai tomi posampayaa. Uma muntu' toe, rata mpai' tempo-na ria tauna to doko' mpopatehi-koi, apa' ra'uli' -rana, toe-mi konoa Alata'ala.
3And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
3Hawe'ea toe rababehi hi koi', apa' uma ra'incai Tuama-ku, pai' Aku' wo'o, uma-a ra'incai.
4But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
4Ku'uli' -kokoi tohe'i, bona ane madupa' -pi mpai', nikiwoi-mi ka'oti-nami ku'uli' -kokoi.
5But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?
5Aga wae-e lau, neo' hilou-ama hi Tuama-ku to mposuro-a, pai' uma-koi haduaa to mpekune' -a ba hiapa kahiloua-ku.
6But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
6Wule' susa' nono-ni-wadi mpo'epe lolita-ku we'i to mpo'uli' neo' hilou-ama.
7Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
7Aga kakoo-kono-na, rasi' -nidi ane hilou-ae! Apa' ane uma-a hilou, uma-i mpai' tumai Topetulungi. Aga ane hilou-apa mpai', kuhubui moto-i tumai hi koi'.
8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
8"Ane tumai-i mpai' Inoha' Tomoroli', Hi'a-damo to mpakanoto hi manusia' kamojeko' -ra. Napakanoto wo'o kamonoa' -ku pai' pehuku' Alata'ala.
9Of sin, because they believe not on me;
9Napakanoto kamojeko' -ra apa' uma-ra mepangala' hi Aku'.
10Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
10Napakanoto wo'o kamonoa' -ku, apa' hilou-ama mpai' hi Tuama-ku, pai' uma-apa nihiloi.
11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
11Napakanoto wo'o kanahuku' -ra mpai' Alata'ala tauna to mojeko', apa' nahuku' -imi Magau' Anudaa' to mpokuasai dunia' tohe'i.
12I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
12"Wori' -pidi to doko' ku'uli' -kokoi, aga ko'ia nikulei' mpotarima omea tempo toi.
13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
13Ane tumai-i mpai' Inoha' Tomoroli', Hi'a-damo to mpotete' -koi pai' mpopo'incai-koi hawe'ea tudui' to makono. Uma-i mololita ntuku' konoa-na moto. Napa to na'epe ngkai Tuama-ku, toe-mi to nalolita. Pai' naparata-kokoi napa to jadi' hi eo mpeno.
14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
14Hi'a mpai' to mpomobohe-a, apa' lolita to natarima ngkai Aku', toe-mi to naparata-kokoi.
15All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15Hawe'ea to ria hi Tuama-ku, bagia-ku omea-mi. Toe pai' ku'uli': napa to natarima Inoha' Tomoroli' ngkai Aku', toe-mi to naparata-kokoi."
16A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
16Na'uli' wo'o-mi Yesus: "Hampai' -damo pai' uma-apa nihiloi. Hampai' wo'o-damo, nihilo wo'o-ama."
17Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
17Ingu' -ramo ana'guru-na, pai' ria-ra to momepekune', ra'uli': "Napa-die pai' na'uli' -taka: 'Hampai' -damo pai' uma-apa nihiloi. Hampai' wo'o-damo, nihilo wo'o-ama'? Napa wo'o pai' na'uli': 'Hilou-a hi Tuama-ku'?"
18They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
18Momepekune' ncuu-ra, ra'uli': "Napa pai' na'uli' oa' 'Hampai' -damo'? Uma ta'incai batua-na."
19Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
19Na'inca Yesus kadoko' -ra mpekune' -i. Toe pai' na'uli' -raka: "Ntora momepekune' -koi ba napa batua-na lolita-ku we'i to mpo'uli': 'Hampai' -damo pai' uma-apa nihiloi. Hampai' wo'o-damo, nihilo wo'o-ama.'
20Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
20Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: geo' pai' motantangi' -koi mpai', tapi' tauna to uma mepangala' hi Aku', goe' moto-ra. Susa' mpai' nono-ni, tapi' kasusaa' -ni mobali' jadi' kagoea'.
21A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
21Kagoea' -ni toe, hewa kagoea' to narata hadua tobine to neo' mo'ana'. Lomo' -na ntodohaka-i, apa' gati tempo-nami mo'ana'. Tapi' ane putu-damo ana' -na, uma-pi napenonoi pontodohakaa-na, goe' -imi apa' putu-mi ana'lei hi rala dunia'.
22And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
22Wae wo'o mpai' koi'. Tempo toi susa' nono-ni. Tapi' kupohirua' moto-kokoi mpai'. Nto'u toe, goe' nculii' -mokoi, pai' uma hema to mpo'alai' -koi kagoea' -ni tetu.
23And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
23"Nto'u toe mpai', uma-pi mingki' nipekune' -a ba napa-napa. Makono mpu'u lolita-ku toi: napa-napa to niperapi' hi Tuama-ku hante hanga' -ku, bate nawai' -koi.
24Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
24Duu' hewa toe lau, ko'ia-koi ria merapi' napa-napa hante hanga' -ku. Wule' perapi' -mi-hana, nirata moto mpai', bona gana mpu'u kagoea' -ni."
25These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
25"Hawe'ea tohe'i ku'uli' -kokoi hante walatu. Tapi' rata mpai' tempo-na, uma-apa mowalatu. Kupololitai-koi hante kalonto' -na mpotompo'wiwi Tuama-ku.
26At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
26Nto'u toe mpai', merapi' -koi hi Tuama-ku hante hanga' -ku. Uma mingki' Aku' to mperapi' -kokoi hi Tuama-ku,
27For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
27apa' napoka'ahi' -koi. Napoka'ahi' -koi, apa' nipoka'ahi' -a, pai' nipangala' ka'Aku' -na to ngkai Alata'ala.
28I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
28Ngkai Tuama-ku mpu'u-ada, pai' tumai-ama hi dunia' toi. Wae-e lau, kupalahii-mi dunia' toi, nculii' -ama hilou hi Tuama-ku."
29His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
29Ra'uli' ana'guru-na: "Tempo toi, lonto' -mi lolita-nu Pue', uma-poko mowalatu.
30Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
30Monoto mpu'u-mi hi kai': Pue' to mpo'inca omea. Uma-pi mingki' ria to mpekune' ba napa-napa hi Iko. Toe pai' kipangala' ka'Iko-na to ngkai Alata'ala."
31Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
31Na'uli' Yesus: "Ha mepangala' mpu'u-mokoi wae lau?
32Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
32Kiwoi! Rata mpai' tempo-na-- pai' toi-mi tempo-na-- koi' mpai' pagaa' -gaa' hore-hore nculii' hi tomi-ni, pai' Aku' nipalahii hadudua-ku. Aga uma hadudua-ku mpu'u, apa' Tuama-ku mpodohei-a.
33These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
33Hawe'ea toi ku'uli' -kokoi, bona mporata-koi kalompea' tuwu' ngkai posidaia' -ni hante Aku'. Bula-ni hi rala dunia' toi-pidi, bate rabalinai' -koi. Aga pakaroho nono-ni, apa' kudagi-mi dunia' toi."
