¹And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

¹Xảy ra năm bốn trăm tám mươi, sau khi dân Y-sơ-ra-ên ra khỏi xứ Ê-díp-tô, là năm thứ tư của Sa-lô-môn trị vì trên Y-sơ-ra-ên, nhằm tháng Xíp, nghĩa là tháng thứ hai, thì người cất đền của Ðức Giê-hô-va.

²And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.

²Cái đền mà vua Sa-lô-môn cất cho Ðức Giê-hô-va, bề dài có sáu mươi thước, bề ngang hai mươi thước.

³And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

³Cái hiên cửa ở trước đền bề dài hai mươi thước, bằng bề ngang của đền, và rộng mười thước ở trước đền.

⁴And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.

⁴Vua cũng làm cho đến những cửa sổ có song, khuôn cây.

⁵And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:

⁵Người cất những từng lầu, dựa vào vách từ phía đền, tức là dựa vào vách chung quanh đền thờ và nơi thánh; cũng làm những phòng chung quanh đền.

⁶The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.

⁶Từng dưới rộng năm thước, từng giữa rộng sáu thước; và từng trên rộng bảy thước, vì vua cất sụt lui các vách vòng ngoài nhà, đặng tránh sườn xà hoành đâm vào vách đền.

⁷And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

⁷Khi cất đền, người ta dùng đá đã đẽo sẵn nơi hầm, nên không nghe tiếng búa, rìu hay là khí dụng khác bằng sắt tại nơi đền đương khi cất.

⁸The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.

⁸Cửa vào các phòng từng thứ nhì, ở bên phía hữu của đền; người ta đi lên từng giữa bởi một cái thang khu ốc; rồi từ từng giữa lên từng thứ ba.

⁹So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

⁹Khi cất đền xong; thì Sa-lô-môn lợp nó bằng đòn tay và ván gỗ bá hương,

¹⁰And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

¹⁰cũng cất những từng lầu năm thước dựa vào tứ phía đền, dính với nhà bởi cây đà bá hương.

¹¹And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,

¹¹Bấy giờ có lời Ðức Giê-hô-va phán với Sa-lô-môn rằng:

¹²Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:

¹²về nhà này mà ngươi đương xây cất, nếu ngươi vâng theo các luật lệ ta, noi theo các mạng lịnh ta, giữ và đi trong hết thảy các điều răn của ta, thì ta sẽ vì ngươi làm hoàn thành lời ta đã hứa cùng Ða-vít, cha ngươi.

¹³And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

¹³Ta sẽ ngự giữa dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, chẳng hề bỏ Y-sơ-ra-ên, là dân ta.

¹⁴So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

¹⁴Ấy vậy, Sa-lô-môn xây đền và làm cho hoàn thành.

¹⁵And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the ceiling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.

¹⁵Người lấy ván bá hương đóng vách phía trong đền, từ đất cho đến trần, và lót nền đất bằng ván cây tùng.

¹⁶And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.

¹⁶Từ cuối phía trong đền hai mươi thước, người đóng ngăn bằng ván bá hương, từ nền cho đến trần, đặng làm nơi chí thánh.

¹⁷And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.

¹⁷Còn bốn mươi thước kia, làm tiền đường của đền thờ.

¹⁸And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

¹⁸Ở phía trong đền, có gỗ bà hương chạm hình dưa ác và hoa mới nở; toàn là gỗ bá hương, không thấy đá.

¹⁹And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

¹⁹Còn nơi chí thánh, Sa-lô-môn đặt ở phía trong đền, tận cuối trong, đặng để hòm giao ước của Ðức Giê-hô-va tại đó.

²⁰And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.

²⁰Phía trong nơi chí thánh có hai mươi thước bề dài, hai mươi thước bề ngang, bọc nó bằng vàng ròng, và cũng bọc vàng bàn thờ bằng cây bá hương nữa.

²¹So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.

²¹Sa-lô-môn bọc vàng ròng tuồng trong của nhà, và lấy xiềng vàng giăng trước nơi chí thánh và bọc bằng vàng.

²²And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

²²Người cũng bọc vàng toàn cả nhà; người cũng lót vàng khắp mặt bàn thờ ở đằng trước nơi chí thánh.

²³And within the oracle he made two cherubim of olive tree, each ten cubits high.

²³Người làm cho nơi chí thánh hai chê-ru-bin bằng gỗ ô-li-ve, bề cao mười thước.

²⁴And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.

²⁴Cánh này và cánh kia của mỗi chê-ru-bin có năm thước, thế là mười thước từ chót cánh này tới chót cánh kia.

²⁵And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubim were of one measure and one size.

²⁵Chê-ru-bin thứ nhì cũng có mười thước. Hai chê-ru-bin đều đồng một cỡ và một dáng với nhau.

²⁶The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.

²⁶Chê-ru-bin này có mười thước bề cao, và chê-ru-bin kia cũng vậy.

²⁷And he set the cherubim within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubim, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

²⁷Sa-lô-môn để hai chê-ru-bin tại nơi chí thánh, ở trong cùng của đền cánh của chê-ru-bin thứ nhất đụng nhau tại giữa nơi chí thánh.

²⁸And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.

²⁸Người cũng bọc vàng cho hai chê-ru-bin.

²⁹And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.

²⁹Bốn phía vách đền, phía trong và phía ngoài, Sa-lô-môn khiến chạm nổi lên hình chê-ru-bin, cây chà là và hoa nở;

³⁰And the floors of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

³⁰cũng phủ đất nhà bằng vàng, bề trong và bề ngoài.

³¹And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.

³¹Tại chỗ vào nơi chí thánh, người làm một cái cửa hai cánh bằng gỗ ô-li-ve; thanh và cột choán một phần năm của mặt tiền.

³²The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubim, and upon the palm trees.

³²Người khiến chạm nổi lên trên hai cánh cửa bằng gỗ ô-li-ve ấy những hình chê-ru-bin, cây chà là và hoa nở; rồi bọc bằng vàng, tráng vàng ra trên hình chê-ru-bin và hình cây chà là.

³³So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.

³³Về cửa đền thờ, người cũng làm cột bằng gỗ ô-li-ve, choán hết một phần tư của vách,

³⁴And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

³⁴lại làm hai cánh cửa bằng gỗ tòng; mỗi cánh có hai miếng trá khép lại được.

³⁵And he carved thereon cherubim and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.

³⁵Sa-lô-môn khiến chạm nổi lên những hình chê-ru-bin, cây chà là và hoa nở; rồi bọc bằng vàng, tráng vàng ra trên các vật chạm trổ.

³⁶And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.

³⁶Người xây tường hành lang phía trong bằng ba hàng đá chạm, và một hàng cây xà gỗ bá hương.

³⁷In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:

³⁷Năm thứ tư, năm tháng Xíp, cái nền của đền thờ Ðức Giê-hô-va đã đặt;

³⁸And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.

³⁸năm thứ mười một, nhằm tháng Bu-lơ, nghĩa là tháng tám, đền thờ hoàn thành trong mọi phần nó, theo kiểu đã ra. Sa-lô-môn cất đền hết bảy năm.
