¹And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.

¹Khi sự rối loạn yên rồi Phao-lô vời các môn đồ đến, khuyên bảo xong, thì từ giã mà đi đến xứ Ma-xê-đoan.

²And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,

²Người trải khắp trong miền này, dùng nhiều lời khuyên bảo các tín đồ; rồi tới nước Gờ-réc,

³And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.

³ở đó ba tháng. Lúc gần xuống thuyền qua xứ Sy-ri thì người Giu-đa lập kế hại người, nên người định trải qua xứ Ma-xê-đoan mà trước về.

⁴And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.

⁴Sô-ba-tê, con Bi-ru, quê thành Ðê-rê, cùng đi với người, lại có A-ri-tạt và Xê-cun-đu quê thành Tê-sa-lô-ni-ca, Gai-út quê thành Ðẹt-bơ và Ti-mô-thê; Ti-chi-cơ và Trô-phin đều quê ở cõi A-si.

⁵These going before tarried for us at Troas.

⁵Những người nầy đi trước, đợi chúng ta tại thành Trô-ách.

⁶And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.

⁶Còn chúng ta, khi những ngày ăn bánh không men qua rồi, thì xuống thuyền tại thành Phi-líp, trong năm ngày gặp nhau tại thành Trô-ách, rồi chúng ta ở lại đó bảy ngày.

⁷And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

⁷Ngày thứ nhứt trong tuần lễ, chúng ta đang nhóm lại để bẻ bánh; Phao-lô phải đi ngày mai, nên người nói chuyện với các môn đồ, và cứ giảng luôn cho đến nữa đêm,

⁸And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.

⁸có nhiều đèn trong phòng cao mà chúng ta đương nhóm lại.

⁹And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

⁹Một gã tuổi trẻ tên là Ơ-tích, ngồi trên cửa sổ, ngủ gục trong khi Phao-lô giảng rất dài; và bị ngủ mê quá, nên từ tầng lầu thứ ba té xuống, lúc đỡ dậy đã thấy chết rồi.

¹⁰And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.

¹⁰Nhưng, Phao-lô bước xuống, nghiêng mình trên người, ôm lấy mà nói rằng: Chớ bối rối, linh hồn còn ở trong người.

¹¹When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.

¹¹Phao-lô lại trở lên, bẻ bánh mà ăn; giảng luận lâu cho đến sáng mới đi.

¹²And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

¹²Còn gã tuổi trẻ người ta đem đi thì được sống, sự ấy làm cho mọi người đều yên ủi lắm.

¹³And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.

¹³Còn chúng ta, thì đi trước, chạy thuyền đến thành A-sốt, là nơi chúng ta phải gặp Phao-lô; người đã định vậy, vì muốn đi bộ.

¹⁴And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.

¹⁴Chúng ta gặp người tại thành A-sốt, bèn đem người đi với, đến thành Mi-ti-len.

¹⁵And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.

¹⁵Rồi đi từ nơi đó, vẫn theo đường biển, ngày mai đến ngang đảo Chi-ô. Qua ngày sau, chúng ta ghé vào thành Sa-mốt, cách một ngày nữa, thì tới thành Mi-lê.

¹⁶For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

¹⁶Vì Phao-lô đã quyết định đi qua trước thành Ê-phê-sô xong không dừng lại tại đó, e cho chậm trễ trong cõi A-si. Người vội đi đặng có thể đến thành Giê-ru-sa-lem kịp trong ngày lễ Ngũ Tuần.

¹⁷And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

¹⁷Bấy giờ, Phao-lô sai người ở thành Mi-lê đi tới thành Ê-phê-sô mời các trưởng lão trong Hội thánh đến.

¹⁸And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,

¹⁸Khi các ngươi ấy đã nhóm cùng người, người nói rằng: từ ngày tôi mới đến cõi A-si, hằng ăn ở luôn với anh em cách nào, anh em vẫn biết,

¹⁹Serving the LORD with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

¹⁹tôi hầu việc Chúa cách khiêm nhường, phải nhiều nước mắt, và ở giữa sự thử thách mà người Giu-đa đã lập mưu hại tôi.

²⁰And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,

²⁰Anh em biết tôi chẳng trễ nải rao truyền mọi điều ích lợi cho anh em, chẳng dấu điều chi hết, lại biết tôi đã dạy anh em hoặc giữa công chúng, hoặc từ nhà nầy sang nhà kia,

²¹Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²¹giảng cho người Giu-đa như cho người Gờ-réc về sự ăn năn đối với Ðức Chúa Trời, và đức tin trong Ðức Chúa Jêsus là Chúa chúng ta.

²²And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

²²Kìa, nay bị Ðức Thánh Linh ràng buộc, tôi đi đến thành Giê-ru-sa-lem, chẳng biết điều chi sẽ xảy đến cho tôi ở đó;

²³Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

²³duy Ðức Thánh Linh đã bảo trước cho tôi rằng từ thành nầy sang thành khác dây xích và sự hoạn nạn đương đợi tôi đó.

²⁴But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

²⁴nhưng tôi chẳng kể sự sống mình là quí, miễn chạy cho xong việc dua tôi và chức vụ tôi đã lãnh nơi Ðức Chúa Jêsus, để mà làm chứng về Tin Lành của ơn Ðức Chúa Trời.

²⁵And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

²⁵Hiện bây giờ, tôi biết rằng giữa anh em mà tôi đã ghé qua giảng về nước Ðức Chúa Trời, thì chẳng có một ai sẽ thấy mặt tôi nữa.

²⁶Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

²⁶Nên bữa nay tôi nói quyết trước mặt các anh em rằng tôi tinh sạch về huyết anh em hết thảy.

²⁷For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

²⁷Vì tôi không trễ nải một chút nào để tỏ ra cho biết hết thảy ý muốn của Ðức Chúa Trời.

²⁸Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

²⁸Anh em hãy giữ lấy mình, mà luôn cả bầy mà Ðức Thánh Linh đã lập anh em làm kẻ coi sóc, để chăn Hội thánh của Ðức Chúa Trời, mà Ngài đã mua bằng chính huyết mình.

²⁹For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

²⁹Còn tôi biết rằng sau khi tôi đi sẽ có muông sói dữ tợn xen vào trong vòng anh em, chẳng tiếc bầy đâu;

³⁰Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

³⁰lại giữa anh em cũng sẽ có những người hung ác dấy lên, ráng sức dỗ môn đồ theo họ.

³¹Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

³¹Vậy, hãy tỉnh thức nhớ lại rằng trong ba năm hằng đêm và ngày, tôi hằng chảy nước mắt mà khuyên bảo cho mọi người luôn.

³²And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

³²Bây giờ tôi giao phó anh em cho Ðức Chúa Trời và cho đạo của ơn Ngài, là giao phó cho Ðấng có thể gây dựng và ban gia tài cho anh em chung với hết thảy những người được nên thánh.

³³I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.

³³Tôi chẳng ham bạc, vàng, hay là áo xống của ai hết.

³⁴Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

³⁴Chính anh em biết rằng hai bàn tay nầy đã làm ra sự cần dùng của tôi và của đồng bạn tôi.

³⁵I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

³⁵Tôi từ bảo luôn cho anh em rằng phải chịu khó làm việc như vậy, để giúp đỡ người yếu đuối, và nhớ lại lời chính Ðức Chúa Jêsus có phán rằng: Ban cho thì có phước hơn nhận lãnh.

³⁶And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

³⁶Phao-lô nói lời đó xong, bèn quì xuống mà cầu nguyện với hết thảy các người ấy.

³⁷And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,

³⁷Ai nấy đều khóc lắm ôm lấy cổ Phao-lô mà hôn,

³⁸Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

³⁸lấy làm buồn bực nhứt là vì nghe người nói rằng anh em sẽ chẳng thấy mặt mình nữa. Ðoạn, đưa người xuống tàu.
