¹For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.

¹Nầy, Chúa, là Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, sẽ cất lấy chói và gậy khỏi Giê-ru-sa-lem và Giu-đa, tức là cả bánh nó cậy và cả nước nó nhờ.

²The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,

²Ngài sẽ cất lấy những người mạnh mẽ, chiến sĩ, quan xét, đấng tiên tri, thầy bói, trưởng lão,

³The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.

³cai đội, dòng quí phái, mưu sĩ, lương công, và thuật sĩ.

⁴And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

⁴Ta sẽ ban cho họ những người trai trẻ làm quan trưởng, và con nít sẽ cai trị họ.

⁵And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

⁵Dân sự hà hiếp nhau, người với người, lân cận với lân cận; con nít lấn lướt kẻ già cả, người hèn hạ lấn lướt người tôn trọng.

⁶When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:

⁶Khi một người sẽ bắt anh em mình tại nhà cha mà nói với rằng: Ngươi có áo choàng; hãy làm đầu chúng ta, và sự bại hoại nầy hãy thuộc về dưới tay ngươi!

⁷In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

⁷Trong ngày đó người kia lên tiếng đáp rằng: Không, ta không làm thầy chữa lành, và trong nhà ta không có bánh cũng không có áo; chớ lập ta làm quan cai dân sự.

⁸For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

⁸Giê-ru-sa-lem phải nghiêng úp, và Giu-đa xiêu đổ; vì lời nói việc làm của họ nghịch cùng Ðức Giê-hô-va, và trêu chọc con mắt của uy nghiêm Ngài.

⁹The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

⁹Bộ mặt họ làm chứng nghịch cùng mình; họ bêu tội rõ ràng như thành Sô-đôm chẳng giấu chút nào. Khốn thay cho linh hồn họ! vì họ đã làm hại cho mình!

¹⁰Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

¹⁰Hãy rao cho kẻ công bình được phước; vì họ sẽ ăn trái của việc làm mình.

¹¹Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

¹¹Khốn cho kẻ hung ác, ắt mang họa! Vì họ sẽ thâu lại việc tự tay mình làm ra!

¹²As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

¹²Dân ta bị con nít hà hiếp, và đờn bà cai trị nó. Hỡi dân ta, kẻ dẫn ngươi làm cho ngươi sai lạc, và họ phá hoại đường lối ngươi.

¹³The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

¹³Ðức Giê-hô-va dấy lên đặng biện luận, Ngài đứng mà xét đoán các dân.

¹⁴The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

¹⁴Ðức Giê-hô-va xét đoán các trưởng lão của dân Ngài với các quan trưởng nó: Ấy chính các ngươi là kẻ đã nuốt vườn nho; của cướp bóc kẻ nghèo đương ở trong nhà các ngươi!

¹⁵What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

¹⁵Các ngươi có ý gì mà đè ép dân ta, giày vò mặt kẻ nghèo khó? Chúa, là Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, phán vậy.

¹⁶Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

¹⁶Ðức Giê-hô-va lại phán rằng: Vì những con gái Si-ôn kiêu ngạo, ngóng cổ bước tới, liếc mắt trêu ngươi, vừa đi õng ẹo, vừa khua động tiếng dưới chơn,

¹⁷Therefore the LORD will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.

¹⁷nên Chúa sẽ làm cho đỉnh đầu con gái Si-ôn đóng vảy, và Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ lột truồng chúng nó.

¹⁸In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,

¹⁸Trong ngày đó, Chúa sẽ cất những vòng mắt cá họ trang sức đi, cái lưới và cái cài;

¹⁹The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,

¹⁹hoa tai, xuyến và lúp;

²⁰The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,

²⁰mão, chuyền mắt cá, nít lưng, hợp hương và bùa đeo;

²¹The rings, and nose jewels,

²¹cà rá và khoen đeo mũi;

²²The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,

²²áo lễ, áo lá rộng, áo choàng, túi nhỏ;

²³The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.

²³gương tay, vải mỏng, khăn bịt đầu và màn che mặt.

²⁴And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

²⁴Sẽ có mùi hôi hám thay vì thơm tho; dây tói thay vì nịt lưng; đầy sói thay vì tóc quăn; bao gai quấn mình thay vì áo dài phấp phới; dấu phỏng thay vì sắc đẹp.

²⁵Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

²⁵Lính chiến ngươi sẽ ngã dưới gươm, những kẻ anh hùng ngươi sẽ bị tử trận.

²⁶And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.

²⁶Các cửa nó sẽ than khóc và thảm sầu; nó vắng vẻ ngồi trên đất.
