¹In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.

¹Năm thứ chín về đời Sê-đê-kia, vua Giu-đa, tháng mười, Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, đến với cả đạo binh mình, vây thành Giê-ru-sa-lem.

²And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.

²Năm thứ mười một về đời Sê-đê-kia, tháng tư, ngày mồng chín, thành bị vỡ.

³And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.

³Hết thảy các quan trưởng của vua Ba-by-lôn vào thành và ngồi cửa giữa. Ấy là Nẹt-gan-Sa-rết-sê, Sam-ga-Nê-bô, Sa-sê-kim, làm đầu hoạn quan, Nẹt-gan-Sa-rết-sê, làm đầu các bác sĩ, cùng các quan trưởng khác của vua Ba-by-lôn.

⁴And it came to pass, that when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.

⁴Sê-đê-kia, vua Giu-đa cùng cả lính chiến vừa ngó thấy các người ấy, liền trốn ra khỏi thành trong ban đêm, theo con đường vườn vua, do cửa giữa hai bức thành, đi thẳng đến A-ra-ba.

⁵But the Chaldeans' army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.

⁵Nhưng đạo binh của người Canh-đê đuổi theo, và đuổi kịp Sê-đê-kia trong đồng Giê-ri-cô; thì bắt và đem về cho Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, tại Ríp-la, trong đất Ha-mát. Tại đó, vua bị Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa đoán xét.

⁶Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.

⁶Vua Ba-by-lôn giết các con trai Sê-đê-kia trước mặt vua ấy tại Ríp-la; vua Ba-by-lôn cũng giết các kẻ cả nước Giu-đa nữa.

⁷Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.

⁷Ðoạn, khiến móc mắt vua Sê-đê-kia, dùng xiềng mà xiềng lại, để điệu về Ba-by-lôn.

⁸And the Chaldeans burned the king's house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.

⁸Người Canh-đê dùng lửa đốt cung vua và nhà cửa của dân sự, phá tường thành Giê-ru-sa-lem.

⁹Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.

⁹Nê-bu-xa-a-đan, làm đầu thị vệ, bắt những người dân còn sót lại trong thành, và những kẻ hàng đầu, cùng dân sót lại trong đất, đem về làm phu tù bên nước Ba-by-lôn.

¹⁰But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.

¹⁰Còn những những kẻ nghèo khó, không có sản nghiệp chi hết, thì Nê-bu-xa-a-đan, làm đầu thị vệ, để chúng nó lại trong đất Giu-đa; cùng một lúc ấy, người cấp cho chúng nó những vườn nho và ruộng.

¹¹Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,

¹¹Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, truyền lịnh cho Nê-bu-xa-a-đan, làm đầu thị vệ, về việc Giê-rê-mi rằng:

¹²Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.

¹²Hãy đem người đi, săn sóc người, và đừng làm hại; nhưng phải đãi người theo ý muốn riêng của người.

¹³So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushasban, Rabsaris, and Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, and all the king of Babylon's princes;

¹³Nê-bu-xa-a-đan, làm đầu thị vệ, Nê-bu-sa-ban, làm đầu hoạn quan, Nẹt-gan-Sa-rết-sê, làm đầu bác sĩ, và hết thảy các quan tướng của vua Ba-by-lôn,

¹⁴Even they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people.

¹⁴sai tìm Giê-rê-mi trong hành lang lính canh, rồi trao người cho Ghê-đa-lia, con trai A-hi-cam, cháu Sa-phan, đặng đưa người về trong nhà. Người bèn ở giữa dân sự.

¹⁵Now the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

¹⁵Khi Giê-rê-mi còn bị giam trong hành lang lính canh, có lời Ðức Giê-hô-va phán cùng người như vầy:

¹⁶Go and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee.

¹⁶Ngươi khá đi và bảo Ê-bết-Mê-lết, người Ê-thi-ô-bi, rằng: Ðức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, Ðức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, phán như vầy: Nầy, đến ngày đó ta sẽ làm ra trước mặt ngươi mọi lời mà ta đã phán nghịch cùng thành nầy, cho nó mang họa và chẳng được phước.

¹⁷But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the LORD: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.

¹⁷Ðức Giê-hô-va phán: Nhưng trong ngày đó, ta sẽ giải cứu ngươi, thì ngươi sẽ không bị nộp trong tay những người mình sợ.

¹⁸For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD.

¹⁸Vì ta sẽ cứu ngươi chắc thật, ngươi sẽ không ngã dưới lưỡi gươm; ngươi sẽ lấy được sự sống mình như của cướp, vì đã để lòng trông cậy trong ta, Ðức Giê-hô-va phán vậy.
