¹Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.

¹Nhưng vậy, hỡi Gióp, xin hãy nghe các diễn thuyết tôi. Khá lắng tai nghe các lời nói tôi.

²Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.

²Kìa, tôi đã mở miệng ra, Lưỡi tôi nói trong họng tôi.

³My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.

³Các lời tôi nói sẽ chiếu theo sự chánh trực của lòng tôi; Ðiều tôi biết lưỡi tôi sẽ nói cách thành thực.

⁴The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

⁴Thần Ðức Chúa Trời đã sáng tạo tôi, Hơi thở của Ðấng Toàn năng ban cho tôi sự sống.

⁵If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.

⁵Nếu đáp được, hãy đáp lại cho tôi, Hãy đứng dậy, bày ra lời của ông tại trước mặt tôi!

⁶Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.

⁶Hãy xem, đối cùng Ðức Chúa Trời tôi với ông có khác chi, Tôi cũng bởi đất bùn mà ra.

⁷Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.

⁷Sự oai nghi tôi nào sẽ làm cho ông kinh khiếp, Và quyền thế tôi sẽ chẳng đè ép ông.

⁸Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,

⁸Quả ông có nói đến tai tôi, Tôi đã nghe tiếng lời của ông nói rằng:

⁹I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.

⁹Tôi trong sạch, không có vi phạm; Tôi vô tội, và trong lòng tôi chẳng có gian ác gì.

¹⁰Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,

¹⁰Dầu vậy, Ðức Chúa Trời tìm dịp đối địch tôi, Cầm tôi như kẻ thù nghịch Ngài;

¹¹He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.

¹¹Ngài riết chơn tôi vào cùm, Và coi chừng đường lối tôi.

¹²Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.

¹²Nầy, tôi muốn đáp với ông rằng trong các lời ấy ông nói vô lý; Vì Ðức Chúa Trời là lớn hơn loài người.

¹³Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.

¹³Nhơn sao ông tranh luận với Ngài? Ngài không bày giãi điều nào Ngài làm.

¹⁴For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.

¹⁴Vì Ðức Chúa Trời phán một lần, Hoặc hai lần; nhưng người ta không để ý đến.

¹⁵In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

¹⁵Ngài phán trong chiêm bao, trong dị tượng ban đêm, Lúc người ta ngủ mê, Nằm ngủ trên giường mình;

¹⁶Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,

¹⁶Bấy giờ Ngài mở lỗ tai loài người, Niêm phong lời giáo huấn mà Ngài dạy cho họ,

¹⁷That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

¹⁷Hầu cho chở loài nguời khỏi điều họ toan làm, Và giấu họ tánh kiêu ngạo,

¹⁸He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

¹⁸Cứu linh hồn họ khỏi cái huyệt, Và mạng sống khỏi bị gươm giết,

¹⁹He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:

¹⁹Loài người nằm trên giường mình bị đau đớn sửa phạt, Và xương cốt người hàng tranh chạm nhau mãi mãi,

²⁰So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.

²⁰Miệng người bèn lấy làm gớm ghiếc vật thực, Và linh hồn người ghét những đồ ăn mĩ vị.

²¹His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.

²¹Thịt người tiêu hao không còn thấy nữa, Và xương người, mà trước chẳng thấy được, bèn bị lộ ra.

²²Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.

²²Linh hồn người đến gần cái hầm, Và sự sống người xích lại kẻ giết.

²³If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:

²³Nếu trong một ngàn thiên sứ, có một thiên sứ làm kẻ truyền-giải cho người, Ðể chỉ dạy người biết điều ngay thẳng cho người,

²⁴Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

²⁴Aét Ðức Chúa Trời làm ơn cho người và phán rằng: "Hãy giải cứu nó khỏi bị sa xuống cái hầm; Ta đã tìm đặng giá chuộc rồi"

²⁵His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth:

²⁵Người sẽ được thẳng da mát thịt như buổi thơ ấu; Người trở lại ngày đang thì.

²⁶He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.

²⁶Người cầu nguyện cùng Ðức Chúa Trời, Ðức Chúa Trời bèn đoái thương người, Khiến người vui mừng xem thấy mặt Ngài, Và Ngài trả lại sự công bình cho người.

²⁷He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;

²⁷Ðoạn, người đó sẽ hát trước mặt loài người, mà rằng: "Tôi đã phạm tội, làm hư hoại sự ngay thẳng, Song chẳng có ích gì cho tôi.

²⁸He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.

²⁸Ðức Chúa Trời có giải cứu linh hồn tôi khỏi sa xuống hầm, Và sự sống tôi sẽ thấy ánh sáng."

²⁹Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,

²⁹Kìa, các việc ấy Ðức Chúa Trời làm cho loài người; Ðến hai lần, hoặc ba lần,

³⁰To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.

³⁰Ðặng khiến linh hồn người trở lại khỏi cái hầm, Hầu cho người được ánh sáng kẻ sống chiếu vào cho.

³¹Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.

³¹Hỡi Gióp, hãy chăm chỉ nghe tôi; Khá làm thinh, thì tôi sẽ nói.

³²If thou hast anything to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.

³²Nếu ông có điều gì muốn nói, hãy đáp lại tôi; Khá nói, vì tôi muốn xưng ông là công bình.

³³If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.

³³Bằng chẳng, hãy nghe tôi; Hãy làm thinh, thì tôi sẽ dạy cho ông sự khôn ngoan.
