¹Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

¹Bấy giờ, từ giữa cơn gió trốt, Ðức Chúa Trời đáp cùng Gióp rằng:

²Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

²Kẻ nầy là ai dám dùng các lời không tri thức, Mà làm cho mờ ám các mưu định ta?

³Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

³Khá thắt lưng người như kẻ dõng sĩ; Ta sẽ hỏi ngươi, ngươi sẽ chỉ dạy cho ta!

⁴Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

⁴Khi ta đặt nền trái đất, thì ngươi ở đâu? Nếu ngươi thông sáng, hãy tỏ bày đi.

⁵Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

⁵Ai đã định độ lượng nó, Và giăng dây mực trên nó, ngươi có biết chăng?

⁶Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

⁶Nền nó đặt trên chi? Ai có trồng hòn đá góc của nó?

⁷When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

⁷Trong khi ấy các sao mai đồng hát hòa nhau, Và các con trai Ðức Chúa Trời cất tiếng reo mừng.

⁸Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

⁸Vả lại, khi biển bể bờ và cất ra khỏi lòng đất, Ai đã lấy các cửa mà ngăn đóng nó lại?

⁹When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,

⁹Khi ấy ta ban cho nó mây làm áo xống, Lấy tăm tối làm khăn vấn của nó;

¹⁰And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,

¹⁰Ta định giới hạn cho nó, Ðặt then chốt và cửa của nó,

¹¹And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

¹¹Mà rằng: Mầy đến đây, chớ không đi xa nữa, Các lượn sóng kiêu ngạo mầy phải dừng lại tại đây!

¹²Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;

¹²Từ khi ngươi sanh, ngươi há có sai khiến buổi sáng, Và phân định chỗ cho hừng đông,

¹³That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

¹³Ðể nó chiếu đến bốn bề trái đất, Và đuổi rảy kẻ gian ác khỏi nó chăng?

¹⁴It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.

¹⁴Trái đất biến hình như đất sét dưới dấu ấn, Và mọi vật hiện ra trau giồi như bằng áo.

¹⁵And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.

¹⁵Sự sáng đã cất khỏi kẻ ác, Cánh tay chúng nó giơ lên, đã bị gãy rồi.

¹⁶Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

¹⁶Chớ thì ngươi có thấu đến nguồn của biển sao? Há có bước dưới đáy của vực sâu chăng?

¹⁷Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

¹⁷Cửa âm phủ há có bày ra trước mặt ngươi chớ? Có thấy các cửa của bóng sự chết chăng?

¹⁸Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.

¹⁸Lằn mắt ngươi có thấu đến nơi khoan khoát minh mông của đất chăng? Nếu ngươi biết các điều đó, hãy nói đi.

¹⁹Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,

¹⁹Con đường dẫn đến nơi ở của ánh sáng là đâu? Còn nơi của tối tăm thì ở đâu?

²⁰That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?

²⁰Chớ thì ngươi có thế dẫn nó lại vào địa giới nó sao? Có biết các đường lối của nhà nó ở chăng?

²¹Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?

²¹Không sai, người biết mà! Vì ngươi đã sanh trước khi ấy, Số ngày ngươi lấy làm nhiều thay

²²Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,

²²Ngươi có vào các kho tuyết chăng? Có thấy nơi chứa mưa đá,

²³Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?

²³Mà ta đã để dành cho thì hoạn nạn, Cho ngày chiến trận và giặc giã chăng?

²⁴By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?

²⁴Ánh sáng phân ra bởi đường nào, Và gió đông theo lối nào mà thổi ra trên đất?

²⁵Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;

²⁵Ai đào kính cho nước mưa chảy, Phóng đường cho chớp nhoáng của sấm sét,

²⁶To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;

²⁶Ðể mưa xuống đất bỏ hoang, Và trên đồng vắng không có người ở;

²⁷To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?

²⁷Ðặng tưới đất hoang vu, mong quạnh, Và làm cho các chồi cây cỏ mọc lên?

²⁸Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?

²⁸Mưa có cha chăng? Ai sanh các giọt sương ra?

²⁹Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?

²⁹Nước đá ra bởi lòng của ai? Ai đẻ ra sương móc của trời?

³⁰The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

³⁰Nước đông lại như đá, rồi ẩn bí, Và mặt vực sâu trở thành cứng.

³¹Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

³¹Ngươi có thế riết các dây chằng Sao rua lại, Và tách các xiềng Sao cầy ra chăng?

³²Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

³²Ngươi có thế làm cho các cung Huỳnh đạo ra theo thì, Và dẫn đường cho Bắc đẩu với các sao theo nó chăng?

³³Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?

³³Người có biết luật của các từng trời sao? Có thể lập chủ quyền nó dưới đất chăng?

³⁴Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?

³⁴Ngươi có thế cất tiếng mình la lên cùng mây, Khiến cho mưa tuôn xuống thân ngươi chăng?

³⁵Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?

³⁵Ngươi có thế thả chớp nhoáng ra, Ðể nó đi, và đáp với ngươi rằng: Thưa, chúng tôi đây?

³⁶Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?

³⁶Ai có đặt khôn ngoan trong lòng, Và ban sự thông sáng cho trí não?

³⁷Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,

³⁷Ai nhờ sự khôn ngoan mà đếm được các mây? Khi bụi đất chảy như loài kim tan ra,

³⁸When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?

³⁸Và các cục đất dính lại nhau, Ai nghiêng đổ những bình nước của các từng trời?

³⁹Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,

³⁹(39:1) Khi mẹ con sư tử nằm phục nơi hang, Khi rình trong bụi-rậm nó,

⁴⁰When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?

⁴⁰(39:2) Há có phải ngươi săn mồi cho sư tử cái, Và làm cho sư tử con đói được no sao?

⁴¹Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.

⁴¹(39:3) Ai sắm đồ ăn cho quạ, Khi con nhỏ nó kêu la cùng Ðức Chúa Trời, Và bay đi đây đó không đồ ăn?
