¹Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

¹Ðức Chúa Jêsus lại phán cùng môn đồ rằng: Không có thể khỏi xảy đến sự gây nên phạm tội được; song khốn thay cho ai là kẻ làm ra sự ấy!

²It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

²Nếu ai gây cho chỉ một kẻ nhỏ nầy phạm tội, thì thà rằng buộc cối đá vào cổ nó mà quăng xuống biển còn hơn.

³Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

³Các ngươi hãy giữ lấy mình. Nếu anh em ngươi đã phạm tội, hãy quở trách họ; và nếu họ ăn năn, thì hãy tha thứ.

⁴And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

⁴Dầu trong một ngày, họ phạm tội cùng ngươi bảy lần và bảy lần trở lại cùng ngươi mà nói rằng: Tôi ăn năn, thì hãy tha tội cho họ.

⁵And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

⁵Các sứ đồ thưa Chúa rằng: Xin thêm đức tin cho chúng tôi!

⁶And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

⁶Chúa đáp rằng: Nếu các ngươi có đức tin trông bằng hột cải, các ngươi khiến cây dâu nầy rằng: Hãy nhổ đi mà trồng dưới biển, thì nó sẽ vâng lời.

⁷But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

⁷Ai trong các ngươi có đầy tớ đi cày hoặc đi chăn, khi ở ngoài đồng về, biểu nó rằng: Hãy đến ngay mà ngồi ăn, hay sao?

⁸And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

⁸Trái lại, há không biểu nó rằng: Hãy dọn cho ta ăn, thắt lưng hầu ta, cho đến chừng nào ta ăn uống xong, rồi sau ngươi sẽ ăn uống sao?

⁹Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

⁹Ðầy tớ vâng lịnh mà làm, thì chủ có biết ơn gì nó chăng?

¹⁰So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

¹⁰Các ngươi cũng vậy, khi làm xong việc truyền phải làm, thì hãy nói rằng: Chúng tôi là đầy tớ vô ích; điều chúng tôi đã làm là điều chắc phải làm.

¹¹And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

¹¹Ðức Chúa Jêsus đương lên thành Giê-ru-sa-lem, trải qua bờ cõi xứ Sa-ma-ri và Ga-li-lê.

¹²And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:

¹²Nhằm khi vào làng kia, có mười người phung đến đón rước Ngài, đứng đằng xa,

¹³And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

¹³lên tiếng rằng: Lạy Jêsus, lạy Thầy, xin thương xót chúng tôi cùng!

¹⁴And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

¹⁴Khi Ngài thấy họ liền phán rằng: Hãy đi, tỏ mình cùng thầy tế lễ. Họ đương đi thì phung lành hết thảy.

¹⁵And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

¹⁵Có một người trong bọn họ thấy mình đã được sạch, bèn trở lại, lớn tiếng khen ngợi Ðức Chúa Trời;

¹⁶And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

¹⁶lại đến sấp mặt xuống đất, nơi chơn Ðức Chúa Jêsus, mà tạ ơn Ngài. Vả, người đó là người Sa-ma-ri.

¹⁷And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

¹⁷Ðức Chúa Jêsus bèn cất tiếng phán rằng: Không phải mười người đều được sạch cả sao? Còn chín người kia ở đâu?

¹⁸There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

¹⁸Chỉ có người ngoại quốc nầy trở lại ngợi khen Ðức Chúa Trời ư!

¹⁹And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

¹⁹Ngài lại phán rằng: Ðứng dậy đi; đức tin ngươi đã cứu ngươi.

²⁰And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

²⁰Người Pha-ri-si hỏi Ðức Chúa Jêsus nước Ðức Chúa Trời chừng nào đến, thì Ngài đáp rằng: Nước Ðức Chúa Trời không đến cách rõ ràng,

²¹Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

²¹và người ta sẽ không nói: Ở đây, hay là: Ở đó; vì nầy, nước Ðức Chúa Trời ở trong các ngươi.

²²And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.

²²Ngài lại phán cùng môn đồ rằng: Sẽ có kỳ các ngươi ước ao thấy chỉ một ngày của Con người, mà không thấy được.

²³And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.

²³Người ta sẽ nói cùng các ngươi rằng: Ngài ở đây, hay là: Ngài ở đó; nhưng đừng đi, đừng theo họ.

²⁴For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.

²⁴Vì như chớp nháng lòe từ dưới phương trời nầy đến dưới phương trời kia, thì Con người trong ngày Ngài cũng như vậy.

²⁵But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.

²⁵Nhưng Ngài trước phải chịu đau đớn nhiều, và bị dòng dõi nầy bỏ ra.

²⁶And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

²⁶Việc đã xảy đến trong đời Nô-ê, thì cũng sẽ xảy đến trong ngày Con người:

²⁷They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

²⁷người ta ăn, uống, cưới, gả, cho đến ngày Nô-ê vào tàu, và nước lụt đến hủy diệt thiên hạ hết.

²⁸Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

²⁸Việc đã xảy ra trong đời Lót cũng vậy, người ta ăn, uống, mua, bán, trồng tỉa, cất dựng;

²⁹But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

²⁹đến này Lót ra khỏi thành Sô-đôm, thì trời mưa lửa và diêm sinh, giết hết dân thành ấy.

³⁰Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

³⁰Ngày Con người hiện ra cũng một thể nầy.

³¹In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

³¹Trong ngày đó, ai ở trên mái nhà, có của để trong nhà, đừng xuống mà chuyên đi; ai ở ngoài đồng, cũng đừng trở về nữa.

³²Remember Lot's wife.

³²Hãy nhớ lại vợ của Lót.

³³Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

³³Ai kiếm cách cứu sự sống mình, thì sẽ mất; ai mất sự sống mình, thì sẽ được lại.

³⁴I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

³⁴Ta phán cùng các ngươi, trong đêm đó, hai người nằm chung giường, một người sẽ được rước đi, còn một bị để lại.

³⁵Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

³⁵Hai người đờn bà xay chung cối, một người được rước đi, còn một bị để lại.

³⁶Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

³⁶Hai người ở ngoài đồng, một người được rước đi, còn một bị để lại.

³⁷And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

³⁷Các môn đồ bèn thưa Ngài rằng: Thưa Chúa, sự ấy sẽ ở tại đâu? Ngài đáp rằng: Xác chết ở đâu, chim ó nhóm tại đó.
