²God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

²Giê-hô-va là Ðức Chúa Trời ghen và báo thù; Ðức Giê-hô-va báo thù, và đầy sự thạnh nộ. Ðức Giê-hô-va báo thù kẻ cừu địch mình và cưu giận cho kẻ thù mình.

³The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

³Ðức Giê-hô-va chậm giận và có quyền lớn; nhưng Ngài chẳng cầm kẻ mắc tội là vô tội. Ðức Giê-hô-va đi trong gió lốc và bão tố, những đám mây là bụi dưới chơn Ngài.

⁴He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.

⁴Ngài quở trách biển, làm cho nó khô; và làm cạn hết thảy các sông. Ba-san và Cạt-mên đều mòn mỏi, hoa của Li-ban đều héo rụng.

⁵The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.

⁵Các núi run rẩy vì cớ Ngài, các đồi tan chảy; đất và thế gian cũng dân cư trên đất đều dậy lên trước mặt Ngài.

⁶Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

⁶Ai đứng được trước sự thạnh nộ Ngài? Ai đương nổi sự nóng giận Ngài? Sự tức giận của Ngài đổ ra như lửa, những vầng đá vỡ ra bởi Ngài.

⁷The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

⁷Ðức Giê-hô-va là tốt lành, làm đồn lũy trong ngày hoạn nạn, và biết những kẻ ẩn náu nơi Ngài.

⁸But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

⁸Ngài dùng nước lụt hủy diệt chỗ nó, và đuổi kẻ thù nghịch mình vào sự tối tăm.

⁹What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.

⁹Các ngươi sẽ lập mưu gì nghịch cùng Ðức Giê-hô-va? Ngài sẽ diệt hết cả, sẽ chẳng có tai nạn dậy lên lần thứ hai.

¹⁰For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

¹⁰Vì chúng nó xỏ xen như gai gốc, và mê man như say rượu, thì sẽ bị thiêu hủy hết như rơm khô.

¹¹There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.

¹¹Ấy là từ ngươi mà ra một kẻ mưu sự dữ nghịch cùng Ðức Giê-hô-va, và toan sự gian ác.

¹²Thus saith the LORD; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.

¹²Ðức Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Dầu chúng nó sức mạnh đầy đủ và người đông cũng sẽ bị từ đi và trở nên hư không. Dầu ta đã làm khổ ngươi, song ta sẽ chẳng làm khổ ngươi nữa.

¹³For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.

¹³Nhưng bấy giờ ta sẽ bẻ gãy ách nó khỏi ngươi, và bứt dứt dây ngươi.

¹⁴And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.

¹⁴Ðức Giê-hô-va đã truyền lịnh về ngươi, từ danh ngươi chẳng sanh ra nữa. Ta sẽ trừ bỏ tượng chạm và tượng đúc khỏi nhà các thần ngươi; ta sẽ làm mồ mả cho ngươi, vì ngươi là hèn mạt.

¹⁵Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

¹⁵Nầy, trên các núi có chơn của kẻ đem tin lành và rao sự bình an! Hỡi Giu-đa, ngươi nữa, nó sẽ bị diệt sạch.
