¹Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

¹Ðức Giê-hô-va ôi! vì cớ Ngài đứng xa, Lúc gian truân tại sao Ngài ẩn mình đi?

²The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

²Kẻ ác, vì lòng kiêu ngạo, hăm hở rượt theo người khốn cùng; Nguyện chúng nó phải mắc trong mưu chước mình đã toan.

³For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.

³Vì kẻ ác tự khoe về lòng dục mình; Kẻ tham của từ bỏ Ðức Giê-hô-va, và khinh dể Ngài.

⁴The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

⁴Kẻ ác bộ mặt kiêu ngạo mà rằng: Ngài sẽ không hề hạch hỏi. Chẳng có Ðức Chúa Trời: kìa là tư tưởng của hắn.

⁵His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

⁵Các đường hắn đều may mắn luôn luôn; Sự đoán xét của Chúa cao quá, mắt hắn chẳng thấy được; Hắn chê hết thảy kẻ thù nghịch mình.

⁶He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

⁶Hắn nghĩ rằng: Ta sẽ chẳng lay động; Ta sẽ không bị tai họa gì đến đời đời.

⁷His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

⁷Miệng hắn đầy sự nguyền rủa, sự giả dối, và sự gian lận; Dưới lưỡi nó chỉ có sự khuấy khỏa và gian ác.

⁸He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

⁸Hắn ngồi nơi rình rập của làng, giết kẻ vô tội trong nơi ẩn khuất; Con mắt hắn dòm hành người khốn khổ.

⁹He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.

⁹Hắn phục trong nơi kín đáo như sư tử trong hang nó; Hắn rình rập đặng bắt người khốn cùng; Khi hắn kéo kẻ khốn cùng vào lưới mình, thì đã bắt được nó rồi.

¹⁰He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

¹⁰Hắn chùm hum, và cúi xuống, Kẻ khốn khổ sa vào vấu hắn.

¹¹He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

¹¹Hắn nghĩ rằng: Ðức Chúa Trời quên rồi, Ngài đã ẩn mặt, sẽ không hề xem xét.

¹²Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

¹²Ðức Giê-hô-va ôi! xin hãy chổi dậy; Hỡi Ðức Chúa Trời, hãy giơ tay Ngài lên; Chớ quên kẻ khốn cùng.

¹³Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

¹³Vì cớ sao kẻ ác khinh dể Ðức Chúa Trời, Và nghĩ rằng: Chúa sẽ chẳng hề hạch hỏi?

¹⁴Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

¹⁴Chúa đã thấy rồi; vì Chúa xem xét sự bạo tàn và sự độc hại, Ðể lấy chính tay Chúa mà báo trả lại; Còn kẻ khốn khổ phó mình cho Chúa; Chúa là Ðấng giúp đỡ kẻ mồ côi.

¹⁵Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

¹⁵Hãy bẻ gãy cánh tay kẻ ác, Và tra tìm sự gian ác của kẻ dữ cho đến không còn thấy gì nữa.

¹⁶The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

¹⁶Ðức Giê-hô-va làm Vua đến đời đời vô cùng; Các ngoại bang bị diệt mất khỏi đất của Ngài.

¹⁷LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

¹⁷Hỡi Ðức Giê-hô-va, Ngài đã nghe lời ước ao của kẻ hiền từ; Khiến lòng họ được vững bền, và cũng đã lắng tai nghe,

¹⁸To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

¹⁸Ðặng xét công bình việc kẻ mồ côi và người bị hà hiếp, Hầu cho loài người, vốn bởi đất mà ra, không còn làm cho sợ hãi nữa.
