¹And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

¹Ðoạn, tôi thấy trời mới và đất mới; vì trời thứ nhứt và đất thứ nhứt đã biến đi mất, và biển cũng không còn nữa.

²And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

²Tôi cũng thấy thành thánh, là Giê-ru-sa-lem mới, từ trên trời, ở nơi Ðức Chúa Trời mà xuống, sửa soạn sẵn như một người vợ mới cưới trang sức cho chồng mình.

³And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

³Tôi nghe một tiếng lớn từ nơi ngai mà đến, nói rằng: nầy, đền tạm của Ðức Chúa Trời ở giữa loài người! Ngài sẽ ở với chúng, và chúng sẽ làm dân Ngài; chính Ðức Chúa Trời sẽ ở với chúng.

⁴And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

⁴Ngài sẽ lau ráo hết nước mắt khỏi mắt chúng, sẽ không có sự chết ,cũng không có than khóc, kêu ca, hay là đau đớn nữa; vì những sự thứ nhứt đã qua rồi.

⁵And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

⁵Ðấng ngự trên trôi phán rằng: Nầy, ta làm mới lại hết thảy muôn vật. Ðoạn, lại rằng: Hãy chép; vì những lời nầy đều trung tín và chơn thật.

⁶And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

⁶Ngài là phán cùng tôi rằng: Xong rồi! Ta là An-pha và Ô-mê-ga, nghĩa là đầu tiên và cuối cùng. Kẻ nào khát, ta sẽ lấy nước suối sự sống mà ban cho nhưng không.

⁷He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

⁷Kẻ nào thắng sẽ được những sự ấy làm cơ nghiệp, ta sẽ làm Ðức Chúa Trời người và người sẽ làm con ta.

⁸But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

⁸Còn những kẻ hèn nhát, kẻ chẳng tin, kẻ đáng gớm ghét, kẻ giết người, kẻ dâm loạn, kẻ phù phép, kẻ thờ thần tượng, và phàm kẻ nào nói dối, phần của chúng nó ở trong hồ có lửa và diêm cháy bừng bừng: đó là sự chết thứ hai.

⁹And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

⁹Một vị trong bảy thiên sứ đã cầm bảy bát đựng đầy bảy tai nạn cuối cùng, đến gần tôi, bảo rằng: Hãy đến, ta sẽ chỉ cho ngươi thấy người vợ mới cưới là vợ Chiên Con.

¹⁰And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

¹⁰Rồi tôi được Thánh Linh cảm động, thiên sứ đó đưa tôi đến trên một hòn núi lớn và cao, và chỉ cho tôi thấy thành thánh, là Giê-ru-sa-lem, từ trên trời, ở nơi Ðức Chúa Trời mà xuống,

¹¹Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

¹¹rực rỡ vinh hiển của Ðức Chúa Trời. Sự chói sáng của thành ấy giống như của một viên bửu thạch, như bích ngọc sáng suốt.

¹²And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

¹²Thành có một bức tường cao lớn, với mười hai cửa, trên những cửa có mười hai vị thiên sứ, cùng những danh đề, là danh mười hai chi phái của con cháu Y-sơ-ra-ên:

¹³On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

¹³phía đông có ba cửa; phía bắc có ba cửa; phía nam có ba cửa; phía tây có ba cửa.

¹⁴And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

¹⁴Còn tường của thành có mười hai cái nền, tại trên có đề mười hai danh, là danh mười hai sứ đồ của Chiên Con.

¹⁵And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

¹⁵Ðấng nói cùng ta tay cầm một cái thước, tức là cây sậy bằng vàng để đo thành, các cửa và tường của thành.

¹⁶And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

¹⁶Thành làm kiểu vuông và bề dài cùng bề ngang bằng nhau. Thiên sứ đo thành bằng cây sậy: thành được một vạn hai ngàn ếch-ta-đơ; bề dài, bề ngang, và bề cao cũng bằng nhau.

¹⁷And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

¹⁷Người lại đo tường thành: được một trăm bốn mươi bốn cu-đê, là thước đo của loài người, và cũng là thước đo của thiên sứ.

¹⁸And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

¹⁸Tường thì xây bằng bính ngọc, thành thì xây bằng vàng ròng, tợ như thủy tinh trong vắt.

¹⁹And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

¹⁹Những nền tường thành thì trang sức đủ thứ ngọc. Nền thứ nhứt, bằng bích ngọc; nền thứ nhì, bằng đá lam bửu; nền thứ ba, bằng lục mã não; nền thứ tư, bằng đá lục cẩm;

²⁰The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

²⁰nền thứ năm, bằng hồng mã não; nền thứ sáu, bằng đá hoàng ngọc; nền thứ bảy bằng ngọc hoàng bích, nền thứ tám, bằng ngọc thủy thương; nền thứ chín, bằng ngọc hồng bích; nền thứ mười, bằng ngọc phỉ túy; nền thứ mười một, bằng đá hồng bửu; nền thứ mười hai, bằng đá tử bửu.

²¹And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

²¹Mười hai cửa thì làm bằng mười hai hột châu; mỗi cửa bằng một hột châu nguyên khối làm thành. Ðường trong thành làm bằng vàng ròng, giống như thủy tinh trong suốt.

²²And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

²²Ở đó, tôi không thấy đền thờ nào; vì Chúa là Ðức Chúa Trời toàn năng và Chiên Con đều là đền thờ của thành.

²³And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

²³Thành cũng không cần mặt trời, mặt trăng để soi sáng; vì vinh hiển của Ðức Chúa Trời chói lói cho, và Chiên Con là ngọn đèn của thành.

²⁴And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

²⁴Các dân sẽ đi giữa sự sáng thành đó và các vua trên đất sẽ đem vinh hiển mình vào đó.

²⁵And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

²⁵Những cửa thành ban ngày không đóng, vì ở đó không có ban đêm.

²⁶And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

²⁶Người ta sẽ đem vinh hiển và phú quí của các dân đến đó;

²⁷And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

²⁷kẻ ô uế, người làm điều gớm ghiếc và nói dối không hề được vào thành; nhưng chỉ có những kẻ đã biên tên trong sách sự sống của Chiên Con.
