Acts

5

1And a certain man, Ananias by name, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
1 Ond yr oedd rhyw ddyn o'r enw Ananias, ynghyd 'i wraig Saffeira, wedi gwerthu eiddo.
2and did keep back of the price — his wife also knowing — and having brought a certain part, at the feet of the apostles he laid [it].
2 Cadwodd ef beth o'r tl yn l, a'i wraig hithau'n gwybod, a daeth rhyw gyfran a'i osod wrth draed yr apostolion.
3And Peter said, `Ananias, wherefore did the Adversary fill thy heart, for thee to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back of the price of the place?
3 Ond meddai Pedr, "Ananias, sut y bu i Satan lenwi dy galon i ddweud celwydd wrth yr Ysbryd Gln, a chadw'n l beth o'r tl am y tir?
4while it remained, did it not remain thine? and having been sold, in thy authority was it not? why [is] it that thou didst put in thy heart this thing? thou didst not lie to men, but to God;`
4 Tra oedd yn aros heb ei werthu, onid yn dy feddiant di yr oedd yn aros? Ac wedi ei werthu, onid gennyt ti yr oedd yr hawl ar yr arian? Sut y rhoddaist le yn dy feddwl i'r fath weithred? Nid wrth ddynion y dywedaist gelwydd, ond wrth Dduw."
5and Ananias hearing these words, having fallen down, did expire, and great fear came upon all who heard these things,
5 Wrth glywed y geiriau hyn syrthiodd Ananias yn farw, a daeth ofn mawr ar bawb a glywodd.
6and having risen, the younger men wound him up, and having carried forth, they buried [him].
6 A chododd y dynion ifainc, a rhoi amdo amdano, a mynd ag ef allan a'i gladdu.
7And it came to pass, about three hours after, that his wife, not knowing what hath happened, came in,
7 Aeth rhyw deirawr heibio, a daeth ei wraig i mewn, heb wybod beth oedd wedi digwydd.
8and Peter answered her, `Tell me if for so much ye sold the place;` and she said, `Yes, for so much.`
8 Dywedodd Pedr wrthi, "Dywed i mi, ai am hyn a hyn y gwerthasoch y tir?" "Ie," meddai hithau, "am hyn a hyn."
9And Peter said unto her, `How was it agreed by you, to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? lo, the feet of those who did bury thy husband [are] at the door, and they shall carry thee forth;`
9 Ac meddai Pedr wrthi, "Sut y bu ichwi gytuno i roi prawf ar Ysbryd yr Arglwydd? Dyma wrth y drws su373?n traed y rhai a fu'n claddu dy u373?r, ac fe nt thithau allan hefyd."
10and she fell down presently at his feet, and expired, and the young men having come in, found her dead, and having carried forth, they buried [her] by her husband;
10 Ar unwaith syrthiodd hithau wrth ei draed, a marw. Daeth y dynion ifainc i mewn a'i chael hi'n gorff, ac aethant hi allan, a'i chladdu gyda'i gu373?r.
11and great fear came upon all the assembly, and upon all who heard these things.
11 Daeth ofn mawr ar yr holl eglwys ac ar bawb a glywodd am hyn.
12And through the hands of the apostles came many signs and wonders among the people, and they were with one accord all in the porch of Solomon;
12 Trwy ddwylo'r apostolion gwnaed arwyddion a rhyfeddodau lawer ymhlith y bobl. Yr oeddent bawb yn arfer dod ynghyd yng Nghloestr Solomon.
13and of the rest no one was daring to join himself to them, but the people were magnifying them,
13 Nid oedd neb arall yn meiddio ymlynu wrthynt, ond yr oedd y bobl yn eu mawrygu,
14(and the more were believers added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women,)
14 ac yr oedd credinwyr yn cael eu chwanegu fwyfwy at yr Arglwydd, luoedd o wu375?r a gwragedd.
15so as into the broad places to bring forth the ailing, and to lay [them] upon couches and mats, that at the coming of Peter, even [his] shadow might overshadow some one of them;
15 Yn wir, yr oeddent hyd yn oed yn dod 'r cleifion allan i'r heolydd, a'u gosod ar welyau a matresi, fel pan fyddai Pedr yn mynd heibio y ci ei gysgod o leiaf ddisgyn ar ambell un ohonynt.
16and there were coming together also the people of the cities round about to Jerusalem, bearing ailing persons, and those harassed by unclean spirits — who were all healed.
16 Byddai'r dyrfa'n ymgynnull hefyd o'r trefi o amgylch Jerwsalem, gan ddod chleifion a rhai oedd yn cael eu blino gan ysbrydion aflan; ac yr oeddent yn cael eu hiachu bob un.
17And having risen, the chief priest, and all those with him — being the sect of the Sadducees — were filled with zeal,
17 Ond llanwyd yr archoffeiriad ag eiddigedd, a'r holl rai hynny oedd gydag ef, sef plaid y Sadwceaid.
18and laid their hands upon the apostles, and did put them in a public prison;
18 Cymerasant afael yn yr apostolion, a'u rhoi mewn dalfa gyhoeddus.
19and a messenger of the Lord through the night opened the doors of the prison, having also brought them forth, he said,
19 Ond yn ystod y nos agorodd angel yr Arglwydd ddrysau'r carchar a dod  hwy allan;
20`Go on, and standing, speak in the temple to the people all the sayings of this life;`
20 a dywedodd, "Ewch, safwch yn y deml a llefarwch wrth y bobl bob peth ynglu375?n 'r Bywyd hwn."
21and having heard, they did enter at the dawn into the temple, and were teaching. And the chief priest having come, and those with him, they called together the sanhedrim and all the senate of the sons of Israel, and they sent to the prison to have them brought,
21 Wedi iddynt glywed hyn, aethant ar doriad dydd i mewn i'r deml, a dechreusant ddysgu. Wedi i'r archoffeiriad a'r rhai oedd gydag ef gyrraedd, galwasant ynghyd y Sanhedrin, sef senedd gyflawn cenedl Israel, ac anfonasant i'r carchar i gyrchu'r apostolion.
22and the officers having come, did not find them in the prison, and having turned back, they told,
22 Ond ni chafodd y swyddogion a ddaeth yno hyd iddynt yn y carchar. Daethant yn eu holau, ac adrodd,
23saying — `The prison indeed we found shut in all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors, and having opened — within we found no one.`
23 "Cawsom y carchar wedi ei gloi yn gwbl ddiogel a'r gwylwyr yn sefyll wrth y drysau, ond wedi agor ni chawsom neb oddi mewn."
24And as the priest, and the magistrate of the temple, and the chief priests, heard these words, they were doubting concerning them to what this would come;
24 A phan glywodd prif swyddog gwarchodlu'r deml, a'r prif offeiriaid, y geiriau hyn, yr oeddent mewn penbleth yn eu cylch, beth a allai hyn ei olygu.
25and coming near, a certain one told them, saying — `Lo, the men whom ye did put in the prison are in the temple standing and teaching the people;`
25 Ond daeth rhywun a dweud wrthynt, "Y mae'r dynion a roesoch yn y carchar yn sefyll yn y deml ac yn dysgu'r bobl."
26then the magistrate having gone away with officers, brought them without violence, for they were fearing the people, lest they should be stoned;
26 Yna aeth y swyddog gyda'i filwyr i'w nl, ond heb drais, am eu bod yn ofni cael eu llabyddio gan y bobl.
27and having brought them, they set [them] in the sanhedrim, and the chief priest questioned them,
27 Wedi dod hwy yno, gwnaethant iddynt sefyll gerbron y Sanhedrin. Holodd yr archoffeiriad hwy,
28saying, `Did not we strictly command you not to teach in this name? and lo, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and ye intend to bring upon us the blood of this man.`
28 a dweud, "Rhoesom orchymyn pendant i chwi beidio dysgu yn yr enw hwn, a dyma chwi wedi llenwi Jerwsalem 'ch dysgeidiaeth, a'ch bwriad yw rhoi'r bai arnom ni am dywallt gwaed y dyn hwn."
29And Peter and the apostles answering, said, `To obey God it behoveth, rather than men;
29 Atebodd Pedr a'r apostolion, "Rhaid ufuddhau i Dduw yn hytrach nag i ddynion.
30and the God of our fathers did raise up Jesus, whom ye slew, having hanged upon a tree;
30 Y mae Duw ein hynafiaid ni wedi cyfodi Iesu, yr hwn yr oeddech chwi wedi ei lofruddio trwy ei grogi ar bren.
31this one God, a Prince and a Saviour, hath exalted with His right hand, to give reformation to Israel, and forgiveness of sins;
31 Hwn a ddyrchafodd Duw at ei law dde yn Bentywysog a Gwaredwr, i roi edifeirwch i Israel a maddeuant pechodau.
32and we are His witnesses of these sayings, and the Holy Spirit also, whom God gave to those obeying him.`
32 Ac yr ydym ni'n dystion o'r pethau hyn, ni a'r Ysbryd Gln a roddodd Duw i'r rhai sy'n ufuddhau iddo."
33And they having heard, were cut [to the heart], and were taking counsel to slay them,
33 Pan glywsant hwy hyn, aethant yn ffyrnig ac ewyllysio eu lladd.
34but a certain one, having risen up in the sanhedrim — a Pharisee, by name Gamaliel, a teacher of law honoured by all the people — commanded to put the apostles forth a little,
34 Ond fe gododd yn y Sanhedrin ryw Pharisead o'r enw Gamaliel, athro'r Gyfraith, gu373?r a berchid gan yr holl bobl, ac archodd anfon y dynion allan am ychydig.
35and said unto them, `Men, Israelites, take heed to yourselves about these men, what ye are about to do,
35 "Wu375?r Israel," meddai, "cymerwch ofal beth yr ydych am ei wneud 'r dynion hyn.
36for before these days rose up Theudas, saying, that himself was some one, to whom a number of men did join themselves, as it were four hundred, who was slain, and all, as many as were obeying him, were scattered, and came to nought.
36 Oherwydd dro'n l cododd Theudas, gan honni ei fod yn rhywun, ac ymunodd nifer o ddynion ag ef, ynghylch pedwar cant. Lladdwyd ef, a chwalwyd pawb oedd yn ei ganlyn, ac aethant yn ddim.
37`After this one rose up, Judas the Galilean, in the days of the enrollment, and drew away much people after him, and that one perished, and all, as many as were obeying him, were scattered;
37 Ar l hwn, cododd Jwdas y Galilead yn nyddiau'r cofrestru, a thynnodd bobl i'w ganlyn. Ond darfu amdano yntau hefyd, a gwasgarwyd pawb o'i ganlynwyr.
38and now I say to you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone, because if this counsel or this work may be of men, it will be overthrown,
38 Ac yn yr achos hwn, 'rwy'n dweud wrthych, ymogelwch rhag y dynion hyn; gadewch lonydd iddynt. Oherwydd os o ddynion y mae'r bwriad hwn neu'r weithred hon, fe'i dymchwelir;
39and if it be of God, ye are not able to overthrow it, lest perhaps also ye be found fighting against God.`
39 ond os o Dduw y mae, ni fyddwch yn abl i'w ddymchwelyd. Fe all y'ch ceir chwi yn ymladd yn erbyn Duw."
40And to him they agreed, and having called near the apostles, having beaten [them], they commanded [them] not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go;
40 Ac fe'u perswadiwyd ganddo. Galwasant yr apostolion atynt, ac wedi eu fflangellu a gorchymyn iddynt beidio llefaru yn enw Iesu, gollyngasant hwy'n rhydd.
41they, indeed, then, departed from the presence of the sanhedrim, rejoicing that for his name they were counted worthy to suffer dishonour,
41 Aethant hwythau ymaith o u373?ydd y Sanhedrin, yn llawen am iddynt gael eu cyfrif yn deilwng i dderbyn amarch er mwyn yr Enw.
42every day also in the temple, and in every house, they were not ceasing teaching and proclaiming good news — Jesus the Christ.
42 A phob dydd, yn y deml ac yn eu tai, nid oeddent yn peidio dysgu a chyhoeddi'r newydd da am y Meseia, Iesu.
