1And Saul was assenting to his death, and there came in that day a great persecution upon the assembly in Jerusalem, all also were scattered abroad in the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles;
1 Yr oedd Saul yn cydsynio 'i lofruddio. Y diwrnod hwnnw dechreuodd erlid mawr ar yr eglwys yn Jerwsalem. Gwasgarwyd hwy, pawb ond yr apostolion, trwy barthau Jwdea a Samaria.
2and devout men carried away Stephen, and made great lamentation over him;
2 Claddwyd Steffan gan wu375?r duwiol, ac yr oeddent yn galarnadu'n uchel amdano.
3and Saul was making havoc of the assembly, into every house entering, and haling men and women, was giving them up to prison;
3 Ond anrheithio'r eglwys yr oedd Saul: mynd i mewn i du375? ar l tu375?, a llusgo allan wu375?r a gwragedd, a'u traddodi i garchar.
4they then indeed, having been scattered, went abroad proclaiming good news — the word.
4 Am y rhai a wasgarwyd, teithiasant gan bregethu'r Gair.
5And Philip having gone down to a city of Samaria, was preaching to them the Christ,
5 Aeth Philip i lawr i'r ddinas yn Samaria, a dechreuodd gyhoeddi'r Meseia iddynt.
6the multitudes also were giving heed to the things spoken by Philip, with one accord, in their hearing and seeing the signs that he was doing,
6 Yr oedd y tyrfaoedd yn dal yn unfryd ar eiriau Philip, wrth glywed a gweld yr arwyddion yr oedd yn eu gwneud;
7for unclean spirits came forth from many who were possessed, crying with a loud voice, and many who have been paralytic and lame were healed,
7 oherwydd yr oedd ysbrydion aflan yn dod allan o lawer oedd wedi eu meddiannu ganddynt, gan weiddi llais uchel, ac iachawyd llawer o rai wedi eu parlysu ac o rai cloff.
8and there was great joy in that city.
8 A bu llawenydd mawr yn y ddinas honno.
9And a certain man, by name Simon, was before in the city using magic, and amazing the nation of Samaria, saying himself to be a certain great one,
9 Yr oedd rhyw u373?r o'r enw Simon eisoes yn y ddinas yn dewino ac yn synnu cenedl Samaria. Yr oedd yn dweud ei fod yn rhywun mawr,
10to whom they were all giving heed, from small unto great, saying, `This one is the great power of God;`
10 ac yr oedd pawb, o fawr i fn, yn dal sylw arno ac yn dweud, "Hwn yw'r gallu dwyfol a elwir Y Gallu Mawr."
11and they were giving heed to him, because of his having for a long time amazed them with deeds of magic.
11 Yr oeddent yn dal sylw arno am ei fod ers cryn amser yn eu synnu 'i ddewiniaeth.
12And when they believed Philip, proclaiming good news, the things concerning the reign of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized both men and women;
12 Ond wedi iddynt gredu Philip a'i newydd da am deyrnas Dduw ac enw Iesu Grist, dechreuwyd eu bedyddio hwy, yn wu375?r a gwragedd.
13and Simon also himself did believe, and, having been baptized, he was continuing with Philip, beholding also signs and mighty acts being done, he was amazed.
13 Credodd Simon ei hun hefyd, ac wedi ei fedyddio yr oedd yn glynu'n ddyfal wrth Philip; wrth weld arwyddion a gweithredoedd nerthol yn cael eu cyflawni, yr oedd yn synnu.
14And the apostles in Jerusalem having heard that Samaria hath received the word of God, did send unto them Peter and John,
14 Pan glywodd yr apostolion yn Jerwsalem fod Samaria wedi derbyn Gair Duw, anfonasant atynt Pedr ac Ioan,
15who having come down did pray concerning them, that they may receive the Holy Spirit, —
15 ac wedi iddynt hwy ddod i lawr yno, gweddasant drostynt ar iddynt dderbyn yr Ysbryd Gln,
16for as yet he was fallen upon none of them, and only they have been baptized — to the name of the Lord Jesus;
16 oherwydd nid oedd eto wedi disgyn ar neb ohonynt, dim ond eu bod wedi eu bedyddio i enw yr Arglwydd Iesu.
17then were they laying hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
17 Yna rhoes Pedr ac Ioan eu dwylo arnynt, a derbyniasant yr Ysbryd Gln.
18And Simon, having beheld that through the laying on of the hands of the apostles, the Holy Spirit is given, brought before them money,
18 Pan welodd Simon mai trwy arddodiad dwylo'r apostolion y rhoddid yr Ysbryd, cynigiodd arian iddynt,
19saying, `Give also to me this authority, that on whomsoever I may lay the hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.`
19 a dweud, "Rhowch yr awdurdod yma i minnau, fel y bydd i bwy bynnag y rhof fy nwylo arno dderbyn yr Ysbryd Gln."
20And Peter said unto him, `Thy silver with thee — may it be to destruction! because the gift of God thou didst think to possess through money;
20 Ond dywedodd Pedr wrtho, "Melltith arnat ti a'th arian, am iti feddwl meddiannu rhodd Duw trwy dalu amdani!
21thou hast neither part nor lot in this thing, for thy heart is not right before God;
21 Nid oes iti ran na chyfran yn hyn o beth, oblegid nid yw dy galon yn uniawn yng ngolwg Duw.
22reform, therefore, from this thy wickedness, and beseech God, if then the purpose of thy heart may be forgiven thee,
22 Felly edifarha am y drygioni hwn o'r eiddot, ac erfyn ar yr Arglwydd, i weld a faddeuir i ti feddylfryd dy galon,
23for in the gall of bitterness, and bond of unrighteousness, I perceive thee being.`
23 oherwydd 'rwy'n gweld dy fod yn llawn chwerwder ac yn gaeth i ddrygioni."
24And Simon answering, said, `Beseech ye for me unto the Lord, that nothing may come upon me of the things ye have spoken.`
24 Atebodd Simon, "Gweddwch chwi drosof fi ar yr Arglwydd, fel na ddaw arnaf ddim o'r pethau a ddywedsoch."
25They indeed, therefore, having testified fully, and spoken the word of the Lord, did turn back to Jerusalem; in many villages also of the Samaritans they did proclaim good news.
25 Hwythau, wedi iddynt dystiolaethu a llefaru gair yr Arglwydd, cychwynasant yn l i Jerwsalem, a chyhoeddi'r newydd da i lawer o bentrefi'r Samariaid.
26And a messenger of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, `Arise, and go on toward the south, on the way that is going down from Jerusalem to Gaza,` — this is desert.
26 Llefarodd angel yr Arglwydd wrth Philip: "Cod," meddai, "a chymer daith tua'r de, i'r ffordd sy'n mynd i lawr o Jerwsalem i Gasa." Ffordd anial yw hon.
27And having arisen, he went on, and lo, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch, a man of rank, of Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to worship to Jerusalem;
27 Cododd yntau ac aeth. A dyma u373?r o Ethiop, eunuch, swyddog uchel i Candace brenhines yr Ethiopiaid, ac yn ben ar ei holl drysor hi; yr oedd hwn wedi dod i Jerwsalem i addoli,
28he was also returning, and is sitting on his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah.
28 ac yr oedd yn dychwelyd ac yn eistedd yn ei gerbyd, yn darllen y proffwyd Eseia.
29And the Spirit said to Philip, `Go near, and be joined to this chariot;`
29 Dywedodd yr Ysbryd wrth Philip, "Dos a glu375?n wrth y cerbyd yna."
30and Philip having run near, heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, `Dost thou then know what thou dost read?`
30 Rhedodd Philip ato a chlywodd ef yn darllen y proffwyd Eseia, ac meddai, "A wyt ti'n deall, tybed, beth yr wyt yn ei ddarllen?"
31and he said, `Why, how am I able, if some one may not guide me?` he called Philip also, having come up, to sit with him.
31 Meddai yntau, "Wel, sut y gallwn i, heb i rywun fy nghyfarwyddo?" Gwahoddodd Philip i ddod i fyny ato ac eistedd gydag ef.
32And the contents of the Writing that he was reading was this: `As a sheep unto slaughter he was led, and as a lamb before his shearer dumb, so he doth not open his mouth;
32 A hon oedd yr adran o'r Ysgrythur yr oedd yn ei darllen: "Arweiniwyd ef fel dafad i'r lladdfa, ac fel y bydd oen yn ddistaw yn llaw ei gneifiwr, felly nid yw'n agor ei enau.
33in his humiliation his judgment was taken away, and his generation — who shall declare? because taken from the earth is his life.`
33 Yn ei ddarostyngiad gomeddwyd iddo farn. Pwy all draethu am ei ddisgynyddion? Oherwydd cymerir ei fywyd oddi ar y ddaear."
34And the eunuch answering Philip said, `I pray thee, about whom doth the prophet say this? about himself, or about some other one?`
34 Meddai'r eunuch wrth Philip, "Dywed i mi, am bwy y mae'r proffwyd yn dweud hyn? Ai amdano'i hun, ai am rywun arall?"
35and Philip having opened his mouth, and having begun from this Writing, proclaimed good news to him — Jesus.
35 Yna agorodd Philip ei enau, a chan ddechrau o'r rhan hon o'r Ysgrythur traethodd y newydd da am Iesu iddo.
36And as they were going on the way, they came upon a certain water, and the eunuch said, `Lo, water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?`
36 Fel yr oeddent yn mynd rhagddynt ar eu ffordd, daethant at ryw ddu373?r, ac ebe'r eunuch, "Dyma ddu373?r; beth sy'n rhwystro imi gael fy medyddio?"
37[And Philip said, `If thou dost believe out of all the heart, it is lawful;` and he answering said, `I believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God;`]
37 [{cf15i Dywedodd Philip, "Os wyt yn credu 'th holl galon, fe elli." Atebodd yntau, "Yr wyf yn credu mai Mab Duw yw Iesu Grist."}]
38and he commanded the chariot to stand still, and they both went down to the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him;
38 A gorchmynnodd i'r cerbyd sefyll, ac aethant i lawr ill dau i'r du373?r, Philip a'r eunuch, ac fe'i bedyddiodd ef.
39and when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, and the eunuch saw him no more, for he was going on his way rejoicing;
39 Pan ddaethant i fyny o'r du373?r, cipiwyd Philip ymaith gan Ysbryd yr Arglwydd; ni welodd yr eunuch mohono mwyach, ac aeth ymlaen ar ei ffordd yn llawen.
40and Philip was found at Azotus, and passing through, he was proclaiming good news to all the cities, till his coming to Cesarea.
40 Cafodd Philip ei hun yn Asotus, ac aeth o gwmpas dan gyhoeddi'r newydd da yn yr holl ddinasoedd nes iddo ddod i Gesarea.
