¹Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Timotheus the brother,

¹ Paul, apostol Crist Iesu trwy ewyllys Duw, a Timotheus ein brawd,

²to the saints in Colossae, and to the faithful brethren in Christ: Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!

² at y saint yn Colosae, rhai ffyddlon yng Nghrist. Gras a thangnefedd i chwi oddi wrth Dduw ein Tad.

³We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, always praying for you,

³ Yr ydym bob amser yn ein gwedd�au yn diolch amdanoch i Dduw, Tad ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist,

⁴having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love that [is] to all the saints,

⁴ oherwydd i ni glywed am eich ffydd yng Nghrist Iesu, ac am y cariad sydd gennych tuag at yr holl saint,

⁵because of the hope that is laid up for you in the heavens, which ye heard of before in the word of the truth of the good news,

⁵ deubeth sy'n tarddu o wrthrych eich gobaith, sydd ynghadw yn y nefoedd i chwi. Clywsoch eisoes am y gobaith hwn, yng ngair y gwirionedd, yr Efengyl

⁶which is present to you, as also in all the world, and is bearing fruit, as also in you, from the day in which ye heard, and knew the grace of God in truth;

⁶ sydd wedi dod atoch. Y mae'r Efengyl yn dwyn ffrwyth ac yn cynyddu trwy'r holl fyd, yn union fel y mae hefyd yn eich plith chwi, o'r dydd y clywsoch am ras Duw a'i amgyffred mewn gwirionedd.

⁷as ye also learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow-servant, who is for you a faithful ministrant of the Christ,

⁷ Dysgasoch hyn oddi wrth Epaffras, ein cydwas annwyl, sy'n weinidog ffyddlon i Grist ar eich rhan,

⁸who also did declare to us your love in the Spirit.

⁸ ac ef sydd wedi'n hysbysu ni am eich cariad yn yr Ysbryd.

⁹Because of this, we also, from the day in which we heard, do not cease praying for you, and asking that ye may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,

⁹ Oherwydd hyn, o'r dydd y clywsom hynny, nid ydym yn peidio � gwedd�o drosoch. Deisyf yr ydym ar ichwi gael eich llenwi, trwy bob doethineb a deall ysbrydol, ag amgyffrediad o ewyllys Duw,

¹⁰to your walking worthily of the Lord to all pleasing, in every good work being fruitful, and increasing to the knowledge of God,

¹⁰ er mwyn ichwi fyw yn deilwng o'r Arglwydd a rhyngu ei fodd yn gyfan gwbl, gan ddwyn ffrwyth mewn gweithredoedd da o bob math, a chynyddu yn eich adnabyddiaeth o Dduw.

¹¹in all might being made mighty according to the power of His glory, to all endurance and long-suffering with joy.

¹¹ Yr ydym yn deisyf ar ichwi gael eich grymuso � phob grymuster, yn �l nerth ei ogoniant ef, i ddyfalbarhau a hirymaros yn llawen ym mhob dim,

¹²Giving thanks to the Father who did make us meet for the participation of the inheritance of the saints in the light,

¹² gan ddiolch i'r Tad, yr hwn a'ch gwnaeth yn gymwys i gael cyfran o etifeddiaeth y saint yn y goleuni.

¹³who did rescue us out of the authority of the darkness, and did translate [us] into the reign of the Son of His love,

¹³ Gwaredodd ni o afael y tywyllwch, a'n trosglwyddo i deyrnas ei annwyl Fab,

¹⁴in whom we have the redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of the sins,

¹⁴ yn yr hwn y mae inni brynedigaeth, sef maddeuant ein pechodau.

¹⁵who is the image of the invisible God, first-born of all creation,

¹⁵ Hwn yw delw'r Duw anweledig, cyntafanedig yr holl greadigaeth;

¹⁶because in him were the all things created, those in the heavens, and those upon the earth, those visible, and those invisible, whether thrones, whether lordships, whether principalities, whether authorities; all things through him, and for him, have been created,

¹⁶ oherwydd ynddo ef y crewyd pob peth yn y nefoedd ac ar y ddaear, pethau gweledig a phethau anweledig, gorseddau, arglwyddiaethau, tywysogaethau ac awdurdodau. Trwyddo ef ac er ei fwyn ef y mae pob peth wedi ei greu.

¹⁷and himself is before all, and the all things in him have consisted.

¹⁷ Y mae ef yn bod cyn pob peth, ac ynddo ef y mae pob peth yn cydsefyll.

¹⁸And himself is the head of the body — the assembly — who is a beginning, a first-born out of the dead, that he might become in all [things] — himself — first,

¹⁸ Ef hefyd yw pen y corff, sef yr eglwys. Ef yw'r dechrau, y cyntafanedig o blith y meirw, i fod ei hun yn gyntaf ym mhob peth.

¹⁹because in him it did please all the fulness to tabernacle,

¹⁹ Oherwydd gwelodd Duw yn dda i'w holl gyflawnder breswylio ynddo ef,

²⁰and through him to reconcile the all things to himself — having made peace through the blood of his cross — through him, whether the things upon the earth, whether the things in the heavens.

²⁰ a thrwyddo ef, ar �l gwneud heddwch trwy ei waed ar y groes, i gymodi pob peth ag ef ei hun, y pethau sydd ar y ddaear a'r pethau sydd yn y nefoedd.

²¹And you — once being alienated, and enemies in the mind, in the evil works, yet now did he reconcile,

²¹ Yr oeddech chwithau ar un adeg wedi ymddieithrio, ac yn elyniaethus eich meddwl, a'ch gweithredoedd yn ddrwg. Ond yn awr fe'ch cymododd,

²²in the body of his flesh through the death, to present you holy, and unblemished, and unblameable before himself,

²² yng nghorff ei gnawd trwy ei farwolaeth, i'ch cyflwyno'n sanctaidd a di-fai a di-fefl ger ei fron.

²³if also ye remain in the faith, being founded and settled, and not moved away from the hope of the good news, which ye heard, which was preached in all the creation that [is] under the heaven, of which I became — I Paul — a ministrant.

²³ Ond y mae'n rhaid ichwi barhau yn eich ffydd, yn gadarn a diysgog, a pheidio � symud oddi wrth obaith yr Efengyl a glywsoch. Dyma'r Efengyl a bregethwyd ym mhob rhan o'r greadigaeth dan y nef, a'r Efengyl y deuthum i, Paul, yn weinidog iddi.

²⁴I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and do fill up the things lacking of the tribulations of the Christ in my flesh for his body, which is the assembly,

²⁴ Yr wyf yn awr yn llawen yn fy nioddefiadau drosoch, ac yn cwblhau yn fy nghnawd yr hyn sy'n �l o gystuddiau Crist, er mwyn ei gorff, sef yr eglwys.

²⁵of which I — I did become a ministrant according to the dispensation of God, that was given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God,

²⁵ Fe ddeuthum i yn weinidog i'r eglwys yn �l yr oruchwyliaeth a roddodd Duw i mi er eich mwyn chwi, i gyhoeddi gair Duw yn ei gyflawnder,

²⁶the secret that hath been hid from the ages and from the generations, but now was manifested to his saints,

²⁶ sef y dirgelwch a fu'n guddiedig ers oesoedd ac ers cenedlaethau, ond sydd yn awr wedi ei amlygu i'w saint.

²⁷to whom God did will to make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this secret among the nations — which is Christ in you, the hope of the glory,

²⁷ Ewyllysiodd Duw hysbysu iddynt hwy beth yw cyfoeth gogoniant y dirgelwch hwn ymhlith y Cenhedloedd. Dyma'r dirgelwch: Crist ynoch chwi, gobaith y gogoniant.

²⁸whom we proclaim, warning every man, and teaching every man, in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus,

²⁸ Ei gyhoeddi ef yr ydym ni, gan rybuddio pawb, a dysgu pawb ym mhob doethineb, er mwyn cyflwyno pob un yn gyflawn yng Nghrist.

²⁹for which also I labour, striving according to his working that is working in me in power.

²⁹ I'r diben hwn yr wyf yn llafurio ac yn ymdrechu trwy ei nerth ef, y nerth sy'n gweithredu'n rymus ynof fi.
