1And it cometh to pass, in the days of Ahasuerus — he [is] Ahasuerus who is reigning from Hodu even unto Cush, seven and twenty and a hundred provinces —
1 Digwyddodd y pethau a ganlyn yn amser Ahasferus, yr Ahasferus oedd yn teyrnasu ar gant dau ddeg a saith o daleithiau, o India i Ethiopia.
2in those days, at the sitting of the king Ahasuerus on the throne of his kingdom, that [is] in Shushan the palace,
2 Yn ystod y cyfnod hwnnw, yn nhrydedd flwyddyn ei deyrnasiad, ac yntau'n teyrnasu ar ei orsedd yn Susan y brifddinas,
3in the third year of his reign, he hath made a banquet to all his heads and his servants; of the force of Persia and Media, the chiefs and heads of the provinces [are] before him,
3 gwnaeth y Brenin Ahasferus wledd i'w holl dywysogion a'i weinidogion. Daeth byddin y Persiaid a'r Mediaid, y penaethiaid a thywysogion y taleithiau o'i flaen,
4in his shewing the wealth of the honour of his kingdom, and the glory of the beauty of his greatness, many days — eighty and a hundred days.
4 a threuliodd yntau amser maith, sef cant wyth deg o ddyddiau, yn dangos iddynt gyfoeth ei deyrnas odidog ac ysblander gogoneddus ei fawredd.
5And at the fulness of these days hath the king made to all the people who are found in Shushan the palace, from great even unto small, a banquet, seven days, in the court of the garden of the house of the king —
5 Pan ddaeth yr amser hwn i ben, gwnaeth y brenin wledd a barodd am saith diwrnod yn y cwrt yng ngardd ei du375? i bawb, o'r lleiaf hyd y mwyaf, oedd yn byw yn Susan y brifddinas.
6white linen, white cotton, and blue, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple on rings of silver, and pillars of marble, couches of gold, and of silver, on a pavement of smaragdus, and white marble, and mother-of-pearl, and black marble —
6 Yr oedd yno lenni gwyn a glas wedi eu rhwymo llinynnau o sidan a phorffor wrth gadwynau arian ar golofnau marmor. Yr oedd yno welyau o aur ac arian ar lawr o risial, marmor, alabastr a glasfaen gwerthfawr.
7and the giving of drink in vessels of gold, and the vessels [are] divers vessels, and the royal wine [is] abundant, as a memorial of the king.
7 Yr oedd cwpanau aur o wahanol fathau i yfed ohonynt, ac yr oedd digonedd o win trwy haelioni'r brenin.
8And the drinking [is] according to law, none is pressing, for so hath the king appointed for every chief one of his house, to do according to the pleasure of man and man.
8 Ynglu375?n 'r yfed, nid oedd gorfodaeth ar neb, oherwydd gorchmynnodd y brenin i holl swyddogion ei balas wneud fel yr oedd pawb yn dymuno.
9Also Vashti the queen hath made a banquet for women, in the royal house that the king Ahasuerus hath.
9 Gwnaeth y Frenhines Fasti hefyd wledd i'r gwragedd ym mhalas y Brenin Ahasferus.
10On the seventh day, as the heart of the king is glad with wine, he hath said to Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven eunuchs who are ministering in the presence of the king Ahasuerus,
10 Ar y seithfed dydd, pan oedd y Brenin Ahasferus yn llawen gan win, rhoddodd orchymyn i Mehuman, Bistha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Sethar a Carcas, y saith eunuch oedd yn gweini arno,
11to bring in Vashti the queen before the king, with a royal crown, to shew the peoples and the heads her beauty, for she [is] of good appearance,
11 i ddod 'r Frenhines Fasti ato yn gwisgo ei choron frenhinol, er mwyn dangos ei phrydferthwch i'r bobl a'r tywysogion, oherwydd yr oedd yn brydferth iawn.
12and the queen Vashti refuseth to come in at the word of the king that [is] by the hand of the eunuchs, and the king is very wroth, and his fury hath burned in him.
12 Ond gwrthododd y Frenhines Fasti ddod ar orchymyn y brenin trwy'r eunuchiaid. Felly gwylltiodd y brenin yn ddirfawr a chyneuodd ei lid.
13And the king saith to wise men, knowing the times — for so [is] the word of the king before all knowing law and judgment,
13 Gan mai arfer y brenin oedd troi at y rhai oedd yn deall cyfraith a barn, fe ymgynghorodd 'r doethion oedd yn deall y gyfraith.
14and he who is near unto him [is] Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, Memucan, seven heads of Persia and Media seeing the face of the king, who are sitting first in the kingdom —
14 Ei gynghorwyr mwyaf blaenllaw oedd Carsena, Sethar, Admatha, Tarsis, Meres, Marsena a Memuchan, saith dywysog Persia a Media; hwy oedd agosaf at y brenin, a'r dynion mwyaf blaenllaw yn y deyrnas.
15`According to law, what — to do with queen Vashti, because that she hath not done the saying of the king Ahasuerus by the hand of the eunuchs?`
15 Gofynnodd iddynt, "Beth, yn l y gyfraith, sydd i'w wneud 'r Frenhines Fasti am iddi anufuddhau i orchymyn y Brenin Ahasferus trwy'r eunuchiaid?"
16And Memucan saith before the king and the heads, `Not against the king by himself hath Vashti the queen done perversely, but against all the heads, and against all the peoples that [are] in all provinces of the king Ahasuerus;
16 Atebodd Memuchan yng ngu373?ydd y brenin a'r tywysogion, "Nid 'r Brenin Ahasferus yn unig y mae'r Frenhines Fasti wedi gwneud cam, ond 'r holl dywysogion a'r bobl ym mhob un o daleithiau'r brenin.
17for go forth doth the word of the queen unto all the women, to render their husbands contemptible in their eyes, in their saying, The king Ahasuerus said to bring in Vashti the queen before him, and she did not come;
17 Oherwydd daw pob gwraig i wybod am yr hyn a wnaeth y frenhines, ac o ganlyniad fe ddirmygant eu gwu375?r a dweud, 'Gorchmynnodd y Brenin Ahasferus ddod 'r Frenhines Fasti ato, ond ni ddaeth hi.'
18yea, this day do princesses of Persia and Media, who have heard the word of the queen, say [so] to all heads of the king, even according to the sufficiency of contempt and wrath.
18 Heddiw bydd tywysogesau Persia a Media, sydd wedi clywed am weithred y frenhines, yn rhoi yr un ateb i holl dywysogion y brenin, ac yna bydd dirmyg a dicter diddiwedd.
19`If to the king [it be] good, there goeth forth a royal word from before him, and it is written with the laws of Persia and Media, and doth not pass away, that Vashti doth not come in before the king Ahasuerus, and her royalty doth the king give to her companion who [is] better than she;
19 Gyda chydsyniad y brenin, gwneler datganiad brenhinol, a'i ysgrifennu yn neddfau'r Persiaid a'r Mediaid fel na chaiff ei newid, nad yw Fasti i ddod mwyach i u373?ydd y Brenin Ahasferus; a rhodded y brenin ei swydd frenhinol hi i un arall sy'n rhagori arni.
20and the sentence of the king that he maketh hath been heard in all his kingdom — for it [is] great — and all the wives give honour to their husbands, from great even unto small.`
20 Pan glywir trwy'r holl deyrnas, er mor fawr ydyw, y gorchymyn a wnaeth y brenin, bydd pob gwraig, o'r leiaf hyd y fwyaf, yn parchu ei gu373?r."
21And the thing is good in the eyes of the king, and of the princes, and the king doth according to the word of Memucan,
21 Yr oedd cyngor Memuchan yn dderbyniol gan y brenin a'r tywysogion, a gwnaeth y brenin fel yr awgrymodd.
22and sendeth letters unto all provinces of the king, unto province and province according to its writing, and unto people and people according to its tongue, for every man being head in his own house — and speaking according to the language of his people.
22 Anfonwyd llythyrau i holl daleithiau'r brenin, i bob talaith yn ei hysgrifen ei hun a phob cenedl yn ei hiaith ei hun, er mwyn sicrhau bod pob dyn, beth bynnag ei iaith, yn feistr ar ei du375? ei hun.
