¹And there goeth a man of the house of Levi, and he taketh the daughter of Levi,

¹ Priododd gu373?r o dylwyth Lefi ag un o ferched Lefi.

²and the woman conceiveth, and beareth a son, and she seeth him that he [is] fair, and she hideth him three months,

² Beichiogodd hithau ac esgor ar fab, a phan welodd ei fod yn dlws, fe'i cuddiodd am dri mis.

³and she hath not been able any more to hide him, and she taketh for him an ark of rushes, and daubeth it with bitumen and with pitch, and putteth the lad in it, and putteth [it] in the weeds by the edge of the River;

³ Ond gan na allai ei guddio'n hwy, cymerodd gawell wedi ei wneud o lafrwyn a'i ddwbio � chlai a phyg; rhoddodd y plentyn ynddo a'i osod ymysg yr hesg ar lan y Neil.

⁴and his sister stationeth herself afar off, to know what is done to him.

⁴ Yr oedd chwaer y plentyn yn sefyll nid nepell oddi wrtho er mwyn cael gwybod beth a ddigwyddai iddo.

⁵And a daughter of Pharaoh cometh down to bathe at the River, and her damsels are walking by the side of the River, and she seeth the ark in the midst of the weeds, and sendeth her handmaid, and she taketh it,

⁵ Daeth merch Pharo i ymdrochi yn yr afon tra oedd ei morynion yn cerdded ar y lan, a phan welodd y cawell yng nghanol yr hesg, anfonodd un ohonynt i'w n�l.

⁶and openeth, and seeth him — the lad, and lo, a child weeping! and she hath pity on him, and saith, `This is [one] of the Hebrews` children.`

⁶ Wedi iddi ei agor, fe welodd y plentyn, ac yr oedd y bachgen yn wylo. Tosturiodd hithau wrtho a dweud, "Un o blant yr Hebreaid yw hwn."

⁷And his sister saith unto the daughter of Pharaoh, `Do I go? when I have called for thee a suckling woman of the Hebrews, then she doth suckle the lad for thee;`

⁷ Yna gofynnodd chwaer y plentyn i ferch Pharo, "A gaf fi fynd i chwilio am famaeth o blith gwragedd yr Hebreaid, iddi fagu'r plentyn iti?"

⁸and the daughter of Pharaoh saith to her, `Go;` and the virgin goeth, and calleth the mother of the lad,

⁸ Atebodd merch Pharo, "Dos." Felly aeth y ferch ymaith a galw mam y plentyn.

⁹and the daughter of Pharaoh saith to her, `Take this lad away, and suckle him for me, and I — I give thy hire;` and the woman taketh the lad, and suckleth him.

⁹ Dywedodd merch Pharo wrth honno, "Cymer y plentyn hwn a'i fagu imi, ac fe roddaf finnau d�l iti." Felly cymerodd y wraig y plentyn a'i fagu.

¹⁰And the lad groweth, and she bringeth him in to the daughter of Pharaoh, and he is to her for a son, and she calleth his name Moses, and saith, `Because — from the water I have drawn him.`

¹⁰ Wedi i'r plentyn dyfu i fyny, aeth ag ef yn �l at ferch Pharo. Mabwysiadodd hithau ef a'i enwi'n Moses, oherwydd iddi ddweud, "Tynnais ef allan o'r du373?r."

¹¹And it cometh to pass, in those days, that Moses is grown, and he goeth out unto his brethren, and looketh on their burdens, and seeth a man, an Egyptian, smiting a man, a Hebrew, [one] of his brethren,

¹¹ Un diwrnod, wedi i Moses dyfu i fyny, aeth allan at ei bobl ac edrych ar eu beichiau. Gwelodd Eifftiwr yn taro Hebr�wr, un o'i frodyr,

¹²and he turneth hither and thither, and seeth that there is no man, and smiteth the Egyptian, and hideth him in the sand.

¹² ac wedi edrych o'i amgylch a gweld nad oedd neb yno, lladdodd Moses yr Eifftiwr a'i guddio yn y tywod.

¹³And he goeth out on the second day, and lo, two men, Hebrews, striving! and he saith to the wrong-doer, `Why dost thou smite thy neighbour?`

¹³ Pan aeth allan drannoeth a gweld dau Hebr�wr yn ymladd �'i gilydd, gofynnodd i'r un oedd ar fai, "Pam yr wyt yn taro dy gyfaill?"

¹⁴and he saith, `Who set thee for a head and a judge over us? to slay me art thou saying [it], as thou hast slain the Egyptian?` and Moses feareth, and saith, `Surely the thing hath been known.`

¹⁴ Atebodd yntau, "Pwy a'th benododd di yn bennaeth ac yn farnwr arnom? A wyt am fy lladd i fel y lleddaist yr Eifftiwr?" Daeth ofn ar Moses o sylweddoli fod y peth yn hysbys.

¹⁵And Pharaoh heareth of this thing, and seeketh to slay Moses, and Moses fleeth from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelleth in the land of Midian, and dwelleth by the well.

¹⁵ Pan glywodd Pharo am hyn, ceisiodd ladd Moses, ond ffodd ef oddi wrtho a mynd i fyw i wlad Midian; ac yno eisteddodd i lawr yn ymyl pydew.

¹⁶And to a priest of Midian [are] seven daughters, and they come and draw, and fill the troughs, to water the flock of their father,

¹⁶ Yr oedd gan offeiriad Midian saith o ferched, a daethant i godi du373?r er mwyn llenwi'r cafnau a dyfrhau defaid eu tad.

¹⁷and the shepherds come and drive them away, and Moses ariseth, and saveth them, and watereth their flock.

¹⁷ Daeth bugeiliaid heibio a'u gyrru oddi yno, ond cododd Moses ar ei draed a'u cynorthwyo i ddyfrhau eu praidd.

¹⁸And they come in to Reuel their father, and he saith, `Wherefore have ye hastened to come in to-day?`

¹⁸ Pan ddaeth y merched at Reuel eu tad, gofynnodd, "Sut y daethoch yn �l mor fuan heddiw?"

¹⁹and they say, `A man, an Egyptian, hath delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also hath diligently drawn for us, and watereth the flock;`

¹⁹ Dywedasant hwythau, "Eifftiwr a ddaeth i'n hamddiffyn rhag y bugeiliaid, a chodi du373?r i ddyfrhau'r praidd."

²⁰and he saith unto his daughters, `And where [is] he? why [is] this? — ye left the man! call for him, and he doth eat bread.`

²⁰ Yna gofynnodd yntau iddynt, "Ple mae'r dyn? Pam yr ydych wedi ei adael ar �l? Galwch arno, iddo gael tamaid i'w fwyta."

²¹And Moses is willing to dwell with the man, and he giveth Zipporah his daughter to Moses,

²¹ Cytunodd Moses i aros gyda'r gu373?r, a rhoddodd yntau ei ferch Seffora yn wraig iddo.

²²and she beareth a son, and he calleth his name Gershom, for he said, `A sojourner I have been in a strange land.`

²² Esgorodd hithau ar fab, a galwodd Moses ef yn Gersom, oherwydd dywedodd, "Dieithryn ydwyf mewn gwlad ddieithr."

²³And it cometh to pass during these many days, that the king of Egypt dieth, and the sons of Israel sigh because of the service, and cry, and their cry goeth up unto God, because of the service;

²³ Yn ystod yr amser maith hwn, bu farw brenin yr Aifft. Ond yr oedd pobl Israel yn dal i riddfan oherwydd eu caethiwed, ac yn gweiddi am gymorth, a daeth eu gwaedd o achos eu caethiwed at Dduw.

²⁴and God heareth their groaning, and God remembereth His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob;

²⁴ Clywodd Duw eu cwynfan, a chofiodd ei gyfamod ag Abraham, Isaac a Jacob;

²⁵and God seeth the sons of Israel, and God knoweth.

²⁵ edrychodd ar bobl Israel ac ystyriodd eu cyflwr.
