7

1And after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah,
1 Ar l hyn, yn nheyrnasiad Artaxerxes brenin Persia, daeth Esra i fyny o Fabilon; hwn oedd Esra fab Seraia, fab Asareia, fab Hilceia,
2son of Shallum, son of Zadok, son of Ahitub,
2 fab Salum, fab Sadoc, fab Ahitub,
3son of Amariah, son of Azariah, son of Meraioth,
3 fab Amareia, fab Asareia, fab Meraioth,
4son of Zerahiah, son of Uzzi, son of Bukki,
4 fab Seraheia, fab Ussi, fab Bucci,
5son of Abishua, son of Phinehas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the head priest;
5 fab Abisua, fab Phinees, fab Eleasar, fab Aaron yr archoffeiriad.
6Ezra himself hath come up from Babylon, and he [is] a scribe ready in the law of Moses, that Jehovah God of Israel gave, and the king giveth to him — according to the hand of Jehovah his God upon him — all his request.
6 Yr oedd Esra yn ysgrifennydd hyddysg yng nghyfraith Moses, a roddwyd gan ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel; ac am ei fod yn derbyn ffafr gan yr ARGLWYDD ei Dduw, cafodd y cwbl a ddymunai gan y brenin.
7And there go up of the sons of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the gatekeepers, and the Nethinim, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
7 Yn y seithfed flwyddyn i'r Brenin Artaxerxes, dychwelodd i Jerwsalem gyda rhai o'r Israeliaid ac o'r offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid a'r cantorion a'r porthorion a gweision y deml;
8And he cometh in to Jerusalem in the fifth month, that [is in] the seventh year of the king,
8 a chyrhaeddodd Jerwsalem yn y pumed mis yn seithfed flwyddyn y brenin.
9for on the first of the month he hath founded the ascent from Babylon, and on the first of the fifth month he hath come in unto Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him,
9 Yr oedd wedi cychwyn ar y daith o Fabilon ar y dydd cyntaf o'r mis cyntaf, a chyrraedd Jerwsalem ar y dydd cyntaf o'r pumed mis; yr oedd Esra wedi cael ffafr gan ei Dduw,
10for Ezra hath prepared his heart to seek the law of Jehovah, and to do, and to teach in Israel statute and judgment.
10 oherwydd iddo ymroi i chwilio cyfraith yr ARGLWYDD a'i chadw, ac i ddysgu deddfau a chyfreithiau yn Israel.
11And this [is] a copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, a scribe of the words of the commands of Jehovah, and of His statutes on Israel:
11 Dyma gopi o'r llythyr a roes y Brenin Artaxerxes i Esra'r offeiriad a'r ysgrifennydd, un cyfarwydd chynnwys gorchmynion yr ARGLWYDD a'i ddeddfau i Israel:
12`Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, a perfect scribe of the law of the God of heaven, and at such a time:
12 "Artaxerxes brenin y brenhinoedd at Esra'r offeiriad, ysgrifennydd cyfraith Duw'r nefoedd, cyfarchion!
13By me hath been made a decree that every one who is willing, in my kingdom, of the people of Israel and of its priests and Levites, to go to Jerusalem with thee, doth go;
13 Yn awr dyma fy ngorchmynion i bwy bynnag yn fy nheyrnas o bobl Israel a'u hoffeiriaid a'u Lefiaid sy'n dymuno mynd gyda thi i Jerwsalem: caiff fynd.
14because that from the king and his seven counsellors thou art sent, to inquire concerning Judah and concerning Jerusalem, with the law of God that [is] in thy hand,
14 Oherwydd fe'th anfonir gan y brenin a'i saith gynghorwr i wneud arolwg o Jwda a Jerwsalem ynglu375?n chyfraith dy Dduw, sydd dan dy ofal.
15and to carry silver and gold that the king and his counsellors willingly offered to the God of Israel, whose tabernacle [is] in Jerusalem,
15 Dygi'r arian a'r aur a roddwyd yn wirfoddol gan y brenin a'i gynghorwyr i Dduw Israel, sydd 'i drigfan yn Jerwsalem,
16and all the silver and gold that thou findest in all the province of Babylon, with the free-will offerings of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly, for the house of their God that [is] in Jerusalem,
16 a hefyd yr holl arian a'r aur a gei di trwy holl dalaith Babilon, ac offrymau gwirfoddol y bobl a'r offeiriaid a roddwyd at du375? eu Duw yn Jerwsalem.
17therefore thou dost speedily buy with this money, bullocks, rams, lambs, and their presents, and their libations, and dost bring them near to the altar of the house of your God that [is] in Jerusalem,
17 'r arian yma gofala brynu teirw, hyrddod ac u373?yn, gyda'u bwydoffrwm a'u diodoffrwm, a'u haberthu ar allor tu375? eich Duw yn Jerwsalem.
18and that which to thee and to thy brethren is good to do with the rest of the silver and gold, according to the will of your God ye do.`
18 gweddill yr arian a'r aur cei di a'th gymrodyr wneud fel y gwelwch orau, yn l ewyllys eich Duw.
19`And the vessels that are given to thee, for the service of the house of thy God, make perfect before the God of Jerusalem;
19 Am y llestri a roddwyd i ti at wasanaeth tu375? dy Dduw, gosod hwy o'i flaen yn Jerwsalem.
20and the rest of the needful things of the house of thy God, that it falleth to thee to give, thou dost give from the treasure-house of the king.
20 A pha beth bynnag arall sy'n angenrheidiol i du375? dy Dduw, ac y disgwylir i ti ei roi, rho ef o storfa'r brenin.
21`And by me — I Artaxerxes the king — is made a decree to all treasurers who [are] beyond the river, that all that Ezra the priest, scribe of the law of the God of heaven, doth ask of you, be done speedily:
21 Ac yr wyf fi, y Brenin Artaxerxes, yn rhoi'r gorchymyn hwn i holl drysoryddion talaith Tu-hwnt-i'r-Ewffrates: Rhowch yn ddiymdroi bob peth a ofynnir ichwi gan Esra'r offeiriad, ysgrifennydd cyfraith Duw'r nefoedd,
22Unto silver a hundred talents, and unto wheat a hundred cors, and unto wine a hundred baths, and unto oil a hundred baths, and salt without reckoning;
22 hyd at gan talent o arian, can mesur yr un o wenith, gwin ac olew, a halen heb fesur.
23all that [is] by the decree of the God of heaven, let be done diligently for the house of the God of heaven; for why is there wrath against the kingdom of the king and his sons?
23 Gwnewch bopeth ar gyfer tu375? Duw'r nefoedd yn union fel y mae Duw'r nefoedd wedi ei orchymyn, rhag iddo lidio yn erbyn teyrnas y brenin a'i feibion.
24`And to you we are making known, that upon any of the priests and Levites, singers, gatekeepers, Nethinim, and servants of the house of God, tribute and custom there is no authority to lift up.
24 Yr ydym hefyd yn eich hysbysu nad yw'n gyfreithlon gosod treth, teyrnged na tholl ar neb o offeiriaid, Lefiaid, cantorion, porthorion, gweision na gweinidogion tu375? Dduw.
25`And thou, Ezra, according to the wisdom of thy God, that [is] in thy hand, appoint magistrates and judges who may be judges to all the people who are beyond the river, to all knowing the law of thy God, and he who hath not known ye cause to know;
25 A thithau, Esra, yn unol 'r ddoethineb ddwyfol sydd gennyt, ethol swyddogion a barnwyr i farnu pawb yn Tu-hwnt-i'r-Ewffrates sy'n gwybod cyfraith dy Dduw, ac i ddysgu pawb sydd heb ei gwybod.
26and any who doth not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, speedily is judgment done upon him, whether to death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of riches, and to bonds.`
26 Pob un nad yw'n cadw cyfraith dy Dduw a chyfraith y brenin, dyger ef yn ddi-oed i farn, a'i ddedfrydu naill ai i farwolaeth neu i alltudiaeth neu ddirwy neu garchar."
27Blessed [is] Jehovah, God of our fathers, who hath given such a thing as this in the heart of the king, to beautify the house of Jehovah that [is] in Jerusalem,
27 Yna dywedodd Esra: "Bendigedig fyddo ARGLWYDD Dduw ein hynafiaid, a symbylodd y brenin i harddu tu375?'r ARGLWYDD yn Jerwsalem,
28and unto me hath stretched out kindness before the king and his counsellors, and before all the mighty heads of the king: and I have strengthened myself as the hand of Jehovah my God [is] upon me, and I gather out of Israel heads to go up with me.
28 ac a barodd i mi gael ffafr gan y brenin a'i gynghorwyr a'i bendefigion. Am fod yr ARGLWYDD fy Nuw yn fy nerthu, ymwrolais a chasglu rhai blaenllaw o blith yr Israeliaid i fynd gyda mi."
