1Because of this it behoveth [us] more abundantly to take heed to the things heard, lest we may glide aside,
1 Am hynny, rhaid i ni ddal yn fwy gofalus ar y pethau a glywyd, rhag inni fynd gyda'r llif.
2for if the word being spoken through messengers did become stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience did receive a just recompense,
2 Oherwydd os oedd y gair a lefarwyd drwy angylion yn sicr, ac os derbyniodd pob trosedd ac anufudd-dod ei gyfiawn dl,
3how shall we escape, having neglected so great salvation? which a beginning receiving — to be spoken through the Lord — by those having heard was confirmed to us,
3 pa fodd y dihangwn ni, os esgeuluswn iachawdwriaeth mor fawriachawdwriaeth a gafodd ei chyhoeddi gyntaf drwy enau'r Arglwydd, a'i chadarnhau wedyn i ni gan y rhai oedd wedi ei glywed,
4God also bearing joint-witness both with signs and wonders, and manifold powers, and distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to His will.
4 a Duw yn cyd-dystio drwy arwyddion a rhyfeddodau, a gwyrthiau amrywiol, a thrwy gyfraniadau'r Ysbryd Gln, yn l ei ewyllys ei hun?
5For not to messengers did He subject the coming world, concerning which we speak,
5 Oherwydd nid i angylion y darostyngodd ef y byd a ddaw, y byd yr ydym yn sn amdano.
6and one in a certain place did testify fully, saying, `What is man, that Thou art mindful of him, or a son of man, that Thou dost look after him?
6 Tystiolaethodd rhywun yn rhywle yn y geiriau hyn: "Beth yw dyn, iti ei gofio, a mab dyn, iti ofalu amdano?
7Thou didst make him some little less than messengers, with glory and honour Thou didst crown him, and didst set him over the works of Thy hands,
7 Gwnaethost ef am ryw ychydig yn is na'r angylion; coronaist ef gogoniant ac anrhydedd.
8all things Thou didst put in subjection under his feet,` for in the subjecting to him the all things, nothing did He leave to him unsubjected, and now not yet do we see the all things subjected to him,
8 Darostyngaist bob peth dan ei draed ef." Wrth ddarostwng pob peth iddo, ni adawodd ddim heb ei ddarostwng iddo. Ond yn awr nid ydym hyd yma yn gweld pob peth wedi ei ddarostwng iddo;
9and him who was made some little less than messengers we see — Jesus — because of the suffering of the death, with glory and honour having been crowned, that by the grace of God for every one he might taste of death.
9 eithr yr ydym yn gweld Iesu, yr un a wnaed am ryw ychydig yn is na'r angylion, wedi ei goroni gogoniant ac anrhydedd oherwydd iddo ddioddef marwolaeth, er mwyn iddo, trwy ras Duw, brofi marwolaeth dros bob dyn.
10For it was becoming to Him, because of whom [are] the all things, and through whom [are] the all things, many sons to glory bringing, the author of their salvation through sufferings to make perfect,
10 Oherwydd yr oedd yn gweddu i Dduw, yr hwn y mae popeth yn bod er ei fwyn a phopeth yn bod drwyddo, wrth ddwyn pobl lawer i ogoniant, wneud tywysog eu hiachawdwriaeth yn berffaith trwy ddioddefiadau.
11for both he who is sanctifying and those sanctified [are] all of one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
11 Canys yr hwn sydd yn sancteiddio, a'r rhai sy'n cael eu sancteiddio, o'r un cyff y maent oll. Dyna pam nad oes arno gywilydd eu galw hwy'n berthnasau iddo'i hun.
12saying, `I will declare Thy name to my brethren, in the midst of an assembly I will sing praise to Thee;` and again, `I will be trusting on Him;`
12 Y mae'n dweud: "Fe gyhoeddaf dy enw i'm perthnasau, a chanu mawl iti yng nghanol y gynulleidfa";
13and again, `Behold I and the children that God did give to me.`
13 ac eto: "Ynddo ef y byddaf fi'n ymddiried"; ac eto fyth: "Wele fi a'r plant a roes Duw imi."
14Seeing, then, the children have partaken of flesh and blood, he himself also in like manner did take part of the same, that through death he might destroy him having the power of death — that is, the devil —
14 Felly, gan fod y plant yn cydgyfranogi o'r un cig a gwaed, y mae yntau, yr un modd, wedi cyfranogi o'r cig a gwaed hwnnw, er mwyn iddo, trwy farwolaeth, ddiddymu'r hwn sydd grym dros farwolaeth, sef y diafol,
15and might deliver those, whoever, with fear of death, throughout all their life, were subjects of bondage,
15 a rhyddhau'r rheini oll oedd, trwy ofn marwolaeth, wedi eu dal mewn caethiwed ar hyd eu hoes.
16for, doubtless, of messengers it doth not lay hold, but of seed of Abraham it layeth hold,
16 Yn sicr, gafael y mae yn nisgynyddion Abraham ac nid mewn angylion.
17wherefore it did behove him in all things to be made like to the brethren, that he might become a kind and stedfast chief-priest in the things with God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people,
17 Am hynny, yr oedd yn rhaid iddo, ym mhob peth, gael ei wneud yn debyg i'w berthnasau, er mwyn iddo fod yn archoffeiriad tosturiol a ffyddlon, gerbron Duw, i fod yn aberth cymod dros bechodau'r bobl.
18for in that he suffered, himself being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
18 Oherwydd, am iddo ef ei hun ddioddef a chael ei demtio, y mae'n gallu cynorthwyo'r rhai sydd yn cael eu temtio.
