¹And these [are] words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the remnant of the elders of the removal, and unto the priests, and unto the prophets, and unto all the people — whom Nebuchadnezzar removed from Jerusalem to Babylon,

¹ Dyma eiriau'r llythyr a anfonodd y proffwyd Jeremeia o Jerwsalem at weddill yr henuriaid yn y gaethglud, a'r offeiriaid a'r proffwydi, ac at yr holl bobl a gaethgludodd Nebuchadnesar o Jerwsalem i Fabilon.

²After the going forth of Jeconiah the king, and the mistress, and the officers, heads of Judah and Jerusalem, and the artificer, and the smith, from Jerusalem —

² Bu hyn wedi i'r Brenin Jechoneia, a'r fam frenhines a'r eunuchiaid, swyddogion Jwda a Jerwsalem, a'r seiri a'r gofaint, adael Jerwsalem.

³By the hand of Eleasah son of Shaphan, and Gemariah son of Hilkijah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon — to Babylon, saying,

³ Anfonodd y llythyr trwy law Elasa fab Saffan a Gemareia fab Hilceia, a anfonwyd gan Sedeceia brenin Jwda i Fabilon at Nebuchadnesar brenin Babilon.

⁴`Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, to all the removal that I removed from Jerusalem to Babylon,

⁴ Dyma ei eiriau: "Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, Duw Israel: 'At yr holl gaethglud a gaethgludais o Jerwsalem i Fabilon.

⁵Build ye houses, and abide; and plant ye gardens, and eat their fruit;

⁵ Codwch dai a thrigwch ynddynt; plannwch erddi a bwyta o'u ffrwyth;

⁶Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take for your sons wives, and your daughters give to husbands, and they bear sons and daughters; and multiply there, and ye are not few;

⁶ priodwch wragedd, a magu meibion a merched; cymerwch wragedd i'ch meibion a rhoi gwu375?r i'ch merched, i fagu meibion a merched; amlhewch yno, ac nid lleihau.

⁷And seek the peace of the city whither I have removed you, and pray for it unto Jehovah, for in its peace ye have peace.

⁷ Ceisiwch heddwch y ddinas y caethgludais chwi iddi, a gwedd�wch drosti ar yr ARGLWYDD, oherwydd yn ei heddwch hi y bydd heddwch i chwi.'

⁸`For thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Let not your prophets who [are] in your midst, and your diviners, lift you up, nor hearken ye unto their dreams, thay ye are causing [them] to dream;

⁸ "Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, Duw Israel: 'Peidiwch � chymryd eich twyllo gan eich proffwydi sydd yn eich mysg, na'ch dewiniaid, a pheidiwch � gwrando ar y breudd-wydion a freuddwydiant.

⁹For with falsehood they are prophesying to you in My name; I have not sent them, an affirmation of Jehovah.

⁹ Proffwydant i chwi gelwydd yn f'enw i; nid anfonais hwy,' medd yr ARGLWYDD.

¹⁰`For thus said Jehovah, Surely at the fulness of Babylon — seventy years — I inspect you, and have established towards you My good word, to bring you back unto this place.

¹⁰ "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: 'Pan gyflawnir deng mlynedd a thrigain i Fabilon, ymwelaf � chwi a chyflawni fy mwriad daionus tuag atoch, i'ch adfer i'r lle hwn.

¹¹For I have known the thoughts that I am thinking towards you — an affirmation of Jehovah; thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give to you posterity and hope.

¹¹ Oherwydd myfi sy'n gwybod fy mwriadau a drefnaf ar eich cyfer,' medd yr ARGLWYDD, 'bwriadau o heddwch, nid niwed, i roi ichwi ddyfodol gobeithiol.

¹²`And ye have called Me, and have gone, and have prayed unto Me, and I have hearkened unto you,

¹² Yna galwch arnaf, a dewch i wedd�o arnaf, a gwrandawaf arnoch.

¹³And ye have sought Me, and have found, for ye seek Me with all your heart;

¹³ Fe'm ceisiwch a'm cael; pan chwiliwch �'ch holl galon

¹⁴And I have been found of you — an affirmation of Jehovah; and I have turned back [to] your captivity, and have gathered you out of all the nations, and out of all the places whither I have driven you — an affirmation of Jehovah — and I have brought you back unto the place whence I removed you.

¹⁴ fe'm cewch,' medd yr ARGLWYDD, 'ac adferaf ichwi lwyddiant, a'ch casglu o blith yr holl genhedloedd, ac o'r holl leoedd y gyrrais chwi iddynt,' medd yr ARGLWYDD; 'ac fe'ch dychwelaf i'r lle y caethgludwyd chwi ohono.'

¹⁵`Because ye have said, Jehovah hath raised up to us prophets in Babylon,

¹⁵ "Yr ydych yn dweud, 'Cododd yr ARGLWYDD broffwydi i ni draw ym Mabilon.'

¹⁶Surely thus said Jehovah concerning the king who is sitting on the throne of David, and concerning all the people that is dwelling in this city, your brethren who went not forth with you in the removal;

¹⁶ Ond dywed yr ARGLWYDD fel hyn am y brenin sy'n eistedd ar orsedd Dafydd, ac am yr holl bobl sy'n trigo yn y ddinas hon, a'r rhai nad aethant gyda chwi i'r gaethglud;

¹⁷Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Lo, I am sending among them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and I have given them up as figs that [are] vile, that are not eaten for badness.

¹⁷ ie, fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd: 'Dyma fi'n anfon arnynt y cleddyf a newyn a haint; a gwnaf hwy fel ffigys drwg, na ellir eu bwyta gan mor ddrwg ydynt.

¹⁸And I have pursued after them with sword, with famine, and with pestilence, and have given them for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth, for a curse and for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for a reproach among all the nations whither I have driven them,

¹⁸ Ymlidiaf hwy �'r cleddyf a newyn a haint, a gwnaf hwy'n arswyd i holl deyrnasoedd y ddaear, yn felltith ac arswyd a syndod a chywilydd ymhlith yr holl genhedloedd y gyrraf hwy atynt.

¹⁹Because that they have not hearkened unto My words — an affirmation of Jehovah — that I sent unto them by My servants the prophets, rising early and sending, and ye hearkened not — an affirmation of Jehovah.

¹⁹ Megis na wrandawsant ar fy ngeiriau, a anfonais atynt yn gyson trwy fy ngweision y proffwydi,' medd yr ARGLWYDD, 'felly ni wrandawsoch chwithau,' medd yr ARGLWYDD.

²⁰`And ye, hear ye a word of Jehovah, all ye of the captivity that I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon,

²⁰ 'Ond yn awr gwrandewch air yr ARGLWYDD, chwi yr holl gaethglud a yrrais o Jerwsalem i Fabilon.'

²¹Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, concerning Ahab son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you in My name falsehood: Lo, I am giving them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he hath smitten them before your eyes,

²¹ "Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, Duw Israel, am Ahab fab Colaia, ac am Sedeceia fab Maaseia, sy'n proffwydo i chwi gelwydd yn fy enw i: 'Dyma fi'n eu rhoi yn llaw Neb-uchadnesar brenin Babilon, a bydd ef yn eu lladd yn eich gu373?ydd chwi.

²²And taken from them hath been a reviling by all the removed of Judah that [are] in Babylon, saying, Jehovah doth set thee as Zedekiah, and as Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted with fire;

²² Ac o'u hachos hwy fe gyfyd ymhlith holl gaethglud Jwda ym Mabilon y ffurf hon o felltith: "Boed i'r ARGLWYDD dy drin di fel Sedeceia ac fel Ahab, y rhai a rostiodd brenin Babilon yn y t�n."

²³Because that they have done folly in Israel, and commit adultery with the wives of their neighbours, and speak a word in My name falsely that I have not commanded them, and I [am] He who knoweth and a witness — an affirmation of Jehovah.

²³ Oherwydd gwnaethant yn ysgeler yn Israel, gan odinebu � gwragedd eu cymdogion, a dweud yn f'enw i gelwydd nas gorchmynnais iddynt. Myfi sy'n gwybod, ac yn tystio,' medd yr ARGLWYDD."

²⁴`And unto Shemaiah the Nehelamite thou dost speak, saying,

²⁴ "Wrth Semaia y Nehelamiad fe ddywedi,

²⁵Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, saying, Because that thou hast sent in thy name letters unto all the people who [are] in Jerusalem, and unto Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, and unto all the priests, saying,

²⁵ 'Fel hyn y dywed ARGLWYDD y Lluoedd, Duw Israel: Anfonaist lythyrau yn d'enw dy hun at holl bobl Jerwsalem, ac at yr offeiriad Seffaneia fab Maaseia ac at yr holl offeiriaid, gan ddweud:

²⁶Jehovah hath made thee priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, for there being inspectors of the house of Jehovah, for every one mad and making himself a prophet, and thou hast put him unto the torture and unto the stocks.

²⁶ Gosododd yr ARGLWYDD di yn offeiriad yn lle Jehoiada'r offeiriad, i arolygu yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD ar bob gu373?r gorffwyll sy'n proffwydo, a'i osod mewn cyffion a rhigod.

²⁷And now, why hast thou not pushed against Jeremiah of Anathoth, who is making himself a prophet to you?

²⁷ Yn awr pam na cheryddaist Jeremeia o Anathoth, sy'n proffwydo i chwi?

²⁸Because that he hath sent unto us to Babylon, saying, It [is] long, build ye houses, and abide; and plant ye gardens, and eat their fruit.`

²⁸ Oherwydd anfonodd ef atom i Fabilon a dweud: Bydd y gaethglud hon yn hir; codwch dai a thrigwch ynddynt, a phlannwch erddi a bwyta'u ffrwyth.'"

²⁹And Zephaniah the priest readeth this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.

²⁹ Ac yr oedd yr offeiriad Seffaneia wedi darllen y llythyr hwn yng nghlyw y proffwyd Jeremeia.

³⁰And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah, saying,

³⁰ A daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD at Jeremeia a dweud,

³¹`Send unto all the removal, saying, Thus said Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite, Because that Shemaiah prophesied to you, and I — I have not sent him, and he doth cause you to trust on falsehood,

³¹ "Anfon at yr holl gaethglud a dweud, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD wrth Semaia y Nehelamiad: Oherwydd i Semaia broffwydo i chwi, a minnau heb ei anfon, a pheri ichwi ymddiried mewn celwydd �

³²Therefore, thus said Jehovah, Lo, I am seeing after Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and after his seed, he hath none dwelling in the midst of this people, nor doth he look on the good that I am doing to My people — an affirmation of Jehovah — for apostacy he hath spoken against Jehovah.`

³² am hynny, fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Dyma fi'n ymweld � Semaia y Nehelamiad, ac �'i hil. Ni adewir yr un o'i eiddo ymhlith y bobl hyn, ac ni w�l y daioni yr wyf fi am ei roi i'm pobl, medd yr ARGLWYDD, oherwydd dysgodd wrthryfel yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD.'"
