1And immediately, in the morning, the chief priests having made a consultation, with the elders, and scribes, and the whole sanhedrim, having bound Jesus, did lead away, and delivered [him] to Pilate;
1 Cyn gynted ag y daeth hi'n ddydd, ymgynghorodd y prif offeiriaid 'r henuriaid a'r ysgrifenyddion a'r holl Sanhedrin; yna rhwymasant Iesu a mynd ag ef ymaith a'i drosglwyddo i Pilat.
2and Pilate questioned him, `Art thou the king of the Jews?` and he answering said to him, `Thou dost say [it].`
2 Holodd Pilat ef: "Ai ti yw Brenin yr Iddewon?" Atebodd yntau ef: "Ti sy'n dweud hynny."
3And the chief priests were accusing him of many things, [but he answered nothing.]
3 Ac yr oedd y prif offeiriaid yn dwyn llawer o gyhuddiadau yn ei erbyn.
4And Pilate again questioned him, saying, `Thou dost not answer anything! lo, how many things they do testify against thee!`
4 Holodd Pilat ef wedyn: "Onid atebi ddim? Edrych faint o gyhuddiadau y maent yn eu dwyn yn dy erbyn."
5and Jesus did no more answer anything, so that Pilate wondered.
5 Ond nid atebodd Iesu ddim mwy, er syndod i Pilat.
6And at every feast he was releasing to them one prisoner, whomsoever they were asking;
6 Ar yr u373?yl yr oedd Pilat yn arfer rhyddhau iddynt un carcharor y gofynnent amdano.
7and there was [one] named Barabbas, bound with those making insurrection with him, who had in the insurrection committed murder.
7 Ac yr oedd y dyn a elwid Barabbas yn y carchar gyda'r gwrthryfelwyr hynny oedd wedi llofruddio yn ystod y gwrthryfel.
8And the multitude having cried out, began to ask for themselves as he was always doing to them,
8 Daeth y dyrfa i fyny a dechrau gofyn i Pilat wneud yn l ei arfer iddynt.
9and Pilate answered them, saying, `Will ye [that] I shall release to you the king of the Jews?`
9 Atebodd Pilat hwy: "A fynnwch i mi ryddhau i chwi Frenin yr Iddewon?"
10for he knew that because of envy the chief priests had delivered him up;
10 Oherwydd gwyddai mai o genfigen yr oedd y prif offeiriaid wedi ei draddodi ef.
11and the chief priests did move the multitude, that he might rather release Barabbas to them.
11 Ond cyffrdd y prif offeiriaid y dyrfa i geisio ganddo yn hytrach ryddhau Barabbas iddynt.
12And Pilate answering, again said to them, `What, then, will ye [that] I shall do to him whom ye call king of the Jews?`
12 Atebodd Pilat drachefn, ac meddai wrthynt, "Beth, ynteu, a wnaf hwn yr ydych yn ei alw yn Frenin yr Iddewon?"
13and they again cried out, `Crucify him.`
13 Gwaeddasant hwythau yn l, "Croeshoelia ef."
14And Pilate said to them, `Why — what evil did he?` and they cried out the more vehemently, `Crucify him;`
14 Meddai Pilat wrthynt, "Ond pa ddrwg a wnaeth ef?" Gwaeddasant hwythau yn uwch byth, "Croeshoelia ef."
15and Pilate, wishing to content the multitude, released to them Barabbas, and delivered up Jesus — having scourged [him] — that he might be crucified.
15 A chan ei fod yn awyddus i fodloni'r dyrfa, rhyddhaodd Pilat Barabbas iddynt, a thraddododd Iesu, ar l ei fflangellu, i'w groeshoelio.
16And the soldiers led him away into the hall, which is Praetorium, and call together the whole band,
16 Aeth y milwyr ag ef ymaith i mewn i'r cyntedd, hynny yw, i'r Praetoriwm, a galw ynghyd yr holl fintai.
17and clothe him with purple, and having plaited a crown of thorns, they put [it] on him,
17 A gwisgasant ef phorffor, a phlethu coron ddrain a'i gosod am ei ben.
18and began to salute him, `Hail, King of the Jews.`
18 A dechreusant ei gyfarch: "Henffych well, Frenin yr Iddewon!"
19And they were smiting him on the head with a reed, and were spitting on him, and having bent the knee, were bowing to him,
19 Curasant ei ben gwialen, a phoeri arno, a phlygu eu gliniau ac ymgrymu iddo.
20and when they [had] mocked him, they took the purple from off him, and clothed him in his own garments, and they led him forth, that they may crucify him.
20 Ac wedi iddynt ei watwar, tynasant y porffor oddi amdano a'i wisgo ef 'i ddillad ei hun. Yna aethant ag ef allan i'w groeshoelio.
21And they impress a certain one passing by — Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the field, the father of Alexander and Rufus — that he may bear his cross,
21 Gorfodasant un oedd yn mynd heibio ar ei ffordd o'r wlad, Simon o Cyrene, tad Alexander a Rwffus, i gario ei groes ef.
22and they bring him to the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, `Place of a skull;`
22 Daethant ag ef i'r lle a elwir Golgotha, hynny yw, o'i gyfieithu, "Lle Penglog."
23and they were giving him to drink wine mingled with myrrh, and he did not receive.
23 Cynigiasant iddo win myrr ynddo, ond ni chymerodd ef.
24And having crucified him, they were dividing his garments, casting a lot upon them, what each may take;
24 A chroeshoeliasant ef, a rhanasant ei ddillad, gan fwrw coelbren arnynt i benderfynu beth a gi pob un.
25and it was the third hour, and they crucified him;
25 Naw o'r gloch y bore oedd hi pan groeshoeliasant ef.
26and the inscription of his accusation was written above — `The King of the Jews.`
26 Ac yr oedd arysgrif y cyhuddiad yn ei erbyn yn dweud: "Brenin yr Iddewon."
27And with him they crucify two robbers, one on the right hand, and one on his left,
27 A chydag ef croeshoeliasant ddau leidr, un ar y dde ac un ar y chwith iddo.
28and the Writing was fulfilled that is saying, `And with lawless ones he was numbered.`
28 [{cf15i A chyflawnwyd yr Ysgrythur sy'n dweud, "A chyfrifwyd ef gyda'r troseddwyr."}]
29And those passing by were speaking evil of him, shaking their heads, and saying, `Ah, the thrower down of the sanctuary, and in three days the builder!
29 Yr oedd y rhai oedd yn mynd heibio yn ei gablu ef, gan ysgwyd eu pennau a dweud, "Oho, ti sydd am fwrw'r deml i lawr a'i hadeiladu mewn tridiau,
30save thyself, and come down from the cross!`
30 disgyn oddi ar y groes ac achub dy hun."
31And in like manner also the chief priests, mocking with one another, with the scribes, said, `Others he saved; himself he is not able to save.
31 A'r un modd yr oedd y prif offeiriaid hefyd, ynghyd 'r ysgrifenyddion, yn ei watwar wrth ei gilydd, ac yn dweud, "Fe achubodd eraill; ni all ei achub ei hun.
32The Christ! the king of Israel — let him come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe;` and those crucified with him were reproaching him.
32 Disgynned y Meseia, Brenin Israel, yn awr oddi ar y groes, er mwyn inni weld a chredu." Yr oedd hyd yn oed y rhai a groeshoeliwyd gydag ef yn ei wawdio.
33And the sixth hour having come, darkness came over the whole land till the ninth hour,
33 A phan ddaeth yn hanner dydd, bu tywyllwch dros yr holl wlad hyd dri o'r gloch y prynhawn.
34and at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a great voice, saying, `Eloi, Eloi, lamma sabachthani?` which is, being interpreted, `My God, my God, why didst Thou forsake me?`
34 Ac am dri o'r gloch gwaeddodd Iesu llef uchel, "Elo, Elo, lema sabachthani", hynny yw, o'i gyfieithu, "Fy Nuw, fy Nuw, pam yr wyt wedi fy ngadael?"
35And certain of those standing by, having heard, said, `Lo, Elijah he doth call;`
35 O glywed hyn, meddai rhai o'r sawl oedd yn sefyll gerllaw, "Clywch, y mae'n galw ar Elias."
36and one having run, and having filled a spunge with vinegar, having put [it] also on a reed, was giving him to drink, saying, `Let alone, let us see if Elijah doth come to take him down.`
36 Rhedodd rhywun a llenwi ysbwng gwin sur a'i ddodi ar flaen gwialen a'i gynnig iddo i'w yfed. "Gadewch inni weld," meddai, "a ddaw Elias i'w dynnu ef i lawr."
37And Jesus having uttered a loud cry, yielded the spirit,
37 Ond rhoes Iesu lef uchel, a bu farw.
38and the veil of the sanctuary was rent in two, from top to bottom,
38 A rhwygwyd llen y deml yn ddwy o'r pen i'r gwaelod.
39and the centurion who was standing over-against him, having seen that, having so cried out, he yielded the spirit, said, `Truly this man was Son of God.`
39 Pan welodd y canwriad, a oedd yn sefyll gyferbyn ag ef, mai gyda gwaedd felly y bu farw, dywedodd, "Yn wir, Mab Duw oedd y dyn hwn."
40And there were also women afar off beholding, among whom was also Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of James the less, and of Joses, and Salome,
40 Yr oedd gwragedd hefyd yn edrych o hirbell; yn eu plith yr oedd Mair Magdalen, a Mair mam Iago Fychan a Joses, a Salome,
41(who also, when he was in Galilee, were following him, and were ministering to him,) and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.
41 gwragedd a fu'n ei ganlyn ac yn gweini arno pan oedd yng Ngalilea, a llawer o wragedd eraill oedd wedi dod i fyny gydag ef i Jerwsalem.
42And now evening having come, seeing it was the preparation, that is, the fore-sabbath,
42 Yr oedd hi eisoes yn hwyr, a chan ei bod yn ddydd Paratoad, hynny yw, y dydd cyn y Saboth,
43Joseph of Arimathea, an honourable counsellor, who also himself was waiting for the reign of God, came, boldly entered in unto Pilate, and asked the body of Jesus.
43 daeth Joseff o Arimathea, cynghorwr uchel ei barch a oedd yntau'n disgwyl am deyrnas Dduw, a mentrodd fynd i mewn at Pilat a gofyn am gorff Iesu.
44And Pilate wondered if he were already dead, and having called near the centurion, did question him if he were long dead,
44 Rhyfeddodd Pilat ei fod eisoes wedi marw, a galwodd y canwriad ato a gofyn iddo a oedd wedi marw ers meitin.
45and having known [it] from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
45 Ac wedi cael gwybod gan y canwriad, rhoddodd y corff i Joseff.
46And he, having brought fine linen, and having taken him down, wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre that had been hewn out of a rock, and he rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre,
46 Prynodd yntau liain, ac wedi ei dynnu ef i lawr, a'i amdi yn y lliain, gosododd ef mewn bedd oedd wedi ei naddu o'r graig; a threiglodd faen ar ddrws y bedd.
47and Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of Joses, were beholding where he is laid.
47 Ac yr oedd Mair Magdalen a Mair mam Joses yn edrych ym mhle y gosodwyd ef.
