¹And working together also we call upon [you] that ye receive not in vain the grace of God —

¹દેવ સાથે આપણે સહકાર્યકર છીએ. તેથી અમે તમને અરજ કરીએ છીએ. દેવ તરફથી તમને જે કૃપા મળી છે તેને વ્યર્થ ન જવા દેશો.

²for He saith, `In an acceptable time I did hear thee, and in a day of salvation I did help thee, lo, now [is] a well-accepted time; lo, now, a day of salvation,` —

²દેવ કહે છે કે, “યોગ્ય સમયે મેં તમને સાંભળ્યા, અને તારણના દિવસે મેં તમને મદદ કરી.” યશાયા 49:8 હું તમને કહું છું કે, “યોગ્ય સમય” હમણાં છે. અને “તારણનો દિવસ” પણ હમણાં છે.

³in nothing giving any cause of offence, that the ministration may be not blamed,

³અમે નથી ઈચ્છતા કે લોકો અમારા કાર્યમાં કશી ક્ષતિ જુએ. જેથી અન્ય લોકો માટે સમસ્યારૂપ બને તેવું અમે કશું જ કરતા નથી.

⁴but in everything recommending ourselves as God`s ministrants; in much patience, in tribulations, in necessities, in distresses,

⁴પરંતુ બધા જ સંજોગોમાં હું દર્શાવવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરું છું કે અમે દેવના સેવકો છીએ: આપત્તિમાં મુશ્કેલીમાં અને ગંભીર સમસ્યાઓમાં, ઘણી કઠિન વસ્તુઓનો સ્વીકાર કરીને.

⁵in stripes, in imprisonments, in insurrections, in labours, in watchings, in fastings,

⁵જ્યારે અમને મારવામાં આવ્યા છે અને જેલમાં પૂરવામાં આવ્યા છે. જ્યારે લોકો બેચેન થઈ જાય છે અને અમારી સાથે ઝઘડે છે, જ્યારે અમે સખત કામ કરીએ છીએ અને જ્યારે અમને આહાર કે નિંદ્રા મળતાં નથી.

⁶in pureness, in knowledge, in long-suffering, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in love unfeigned,

⁶અમારી સમજશક્તિથી, અમારા ધૈર્યથી, અમારી મમતાથી અને અમારા નિર્મળ જીવનથી અમે દર્શાવીએ છીએ કે અમે દેવના સેવકો છીએ. પવિત્ર આત્મા થકી, સાચા પ્રેમ થકી,

⁷in the word of truth, in the power of God, through the armour of the righteousness, on the right and on the left,

⁷સત્ય કહેવાથી, અને દેવના પરાક્રમથી, અમે અમારા ન્યાયી રીતે જીવવાના માર્ગનો ઉપયોગ અમારા વિરૂદ્ધની દરેક વસ્તુથી અમારી જાતને બચાવવા અમે કરીએ છીએ.

⁸through glory and dishonour, through evil report and good report, as leading astray, and true;

⁸કેટલાએક લોકો અમને માન આપે છે, પરંતુ બીજા લોકોથી અમે શરમિંદા થઈએ છીએ. કેટલાએક લોકો અમારા વિષે સારું બોલે છે, પરંતુ બીજા કેટલાએક લોકો અમારા વિષે ખરાબ બોલે છે. કેટલાએક લોકો કહે છે કે અમે જૂઠા છીએ, પરંતુ અમે સત્ય બોલીએ છીએ.

⁹as unknown, and recognized; as dying, and lo, we live; as chastened, and not put to death;

⁹કેટલાએક લોકો અમારાથી અજાણ્યા છે, પરંતુ અમે ખૂબ જાણીતા છીએ. અમે મૃતપ્રાય: દેખાઈએ છીએ, પરંતુ જુઓ! અમે જીવી રહ્યા છીએ. અમને શિક્ષા થઈ છે. પરંતુ માર્યા નથી ગયા.

¹⁰as sorrowful, and always rejoicing; as poor, and making many rich; as having nothing, and possessing all things.

¹⁰અમારામાં ઘણો જ વિષાદ છે, પરંતુ અમે કાયમ પ્રફૂલ્લિત રહીએ છીએ, અમે દરિદ્ર છીએ, પરંતુ ઘણા લોકોને અમે વિશ્વાસમાં સમૃદ્ધ બનાવ્યા છે. અમારી પાસે કશું જ નથી, પરંતુ વાસ્તવમાં અમારી પાસે બધું જ છે.

¹¹Our mouth hath been open unto you, O Corinthians, our heart hath been enlarged!

¹¹ઓ કરિંથના લોકો, તમારા લોકોની સાથે અમે મુક્ત રીતે વાતો કરી. અમે અમારું હૈયું તમારી આગળ ખોલ્યું.

¹²ye are not straitened in us, and ye are straitened in your [own] bowels,

¹²તમારા પ્રત્યેની અમારી સ્નેહની લાગણી અટકી નથી ગઈ. તમે લોકોએ અમારા પ્રત્યેની તમારા પ્રેમની લાગણીએ ગુંગળાવી નાખી છે.

¹³and [as] a recompense of the same kind, (as to children I say [it],) be ye enlarged — also ye!

¹³તમે મારાં બાળકો છો તે રીતે હું તમારી સાથે વાત કરું છું. જે રીતે અમે કર્યુ. તે રીતે તમે કરો, તમારા અંતરને પણ મુક્ત અને વિશાળ કરી દો.

¹⁴Become not yoked with others — unbelievers, for what partaking [is there] to righteousness and lawlessness?

¹⁴જે લોકો અવિશ્વાસી છે તેવા તમે નથી. તેથી તેઓની સોબત ન રાખો. સારા અને નરસાનું સહઅસ્તિત્વ નથી હોતું. પ્રકાશને અંધકાર સાથે સંગત ન હોઈ શકે.

¹⁵and what fellowship to light with darkness? and what concord to Christ with Belial? or what part to a believer with an unbeliever?

¹⁵ખ્રિસ્ત અને શેતાન વચ્ચે કોઈ કરાર કેવી રીતે હોઈ શકે? વિશ્વાસીને અવિશ્વાસી સાથે શો ભાગ હોય?

¹⁶and what agreement to the sanctuary of God with idols? for ye are a sanctuary of the living God, according as God said — `I will dwell in them, and will walk among [them], and I will be their God, and they shall be My people,

¹⁶દેવના મંદિર અને મૂર્તિઓ વચ્ચે કોઈ જાતનો કરાર હોઈ શકે? આપણે જીવતા દેવનું મંદિર છીએ, જેમ દેવ કહે છે કે: “હું તેઓની સાથે જીવીશ અને તેઓની સાથે ચાલીશ, હું તેઓનો દેવ થઈશ, અને તેઓ મારા લોક થશે.” લેવીય 26:11-12

¹⁷wherefore, come ye forth out of the midst of them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and an unclean thing do not touch, and I — I will receive you,

¹⁷“તેથી તે લોકોથી વિમુખ થાઓ અને તમારી જાતને તેઓનાથી જુદી તારવો, એમ પ્રભુ કહે છે. જે કઈ નિર્મળ નથી તેનો સ્પર્શ ન કરો, અને હું તમને અપનાવીશ.” યશાયા 52:11

¹⁸and I will be to you for a Father, and ye — ye shall be to Me for sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.`

¹⁸“હું તમારો પિતા થઈશ, અને તમે મારા દીકરા દીકરીઓ થશો, એમ સર્વશક્તિમાન પ્રભુ કહે છે.” 2 શમુએલ 7:14, 7:8
