¹And we make known to you, brethren, the grace of God, that hath been given in the assemblies of Macedonia,

¹અને હવે, મારા ભાઈઓ અને બહેનો, મકદોનિયાની મંડળીઓ પર દેવની જે કૃપા છે તે વિષે અમે તમને જણાવવા ઈચ્છીએ છીએ.

²because in much trial of tribulation the abundance of their joy, and their deep poverty, did abound to the riches of their liberality;

²કઠિન મુશ્કેલીઓથી તે વિશ્વાસીઓનું પરીક્ષણ થયું હતું. અને તેઓ ઘણા જ દરિદ્ર લોકો છે. પરંતુ તેમના ઉન્મત આનંદને કારણે તેઓએ મોટી ઉદારતાથી આપ્યું.

³because, according to [their] power, I testify, and above [their] power, they were willing of themselves,

³હું તમને કહી શકુ કે તેઓમાં જેટલી શક્તિ હતી, જે તેઓએ અર્પણ કર્યુ તે તેઓને પોષાય તેના કરતાં પણ વધુ તેઓએ આપ્યું. આ સ્વૈચ્છિક રીતે કર્યુ. આમ કરવાને કોઈ વ્યક્તિએ તેમને કહ્યું નહોતું.

⁴with much entreaty calling on us to receive the favour and the fellowship of the ministration to the saints,

⁴પરંતુ તેઓએ અમને વારંવાર પૂછયું-તેઓએ દેવના ભક્તોની સેવામાં ભાગીદાર થવા અમને આજીજી કરી.

⁵and not according as we expected, but themselves they did give first to the Lord, and to us, through the will of God,

⁵અમે અપેક્ષા નહોતી રાખી તે રીતે તેમણે આપ્યું. પોતાનું ધન આપતા પહેલા પોતાની જાતને તેઓએ પ્રભુને અને અમને સમર્પિત કરી. દેવ આવું ઈચ્છે છે.

⁶so that we exhorted Titus, that, according as he did begin before, so also he may finish to you also this favour,

⁶તેથી કૃપાના આ ભલાઈના વિશિષ્ટ કાર્યને પૂર્ણ કરવામાં તમને મદદરૂપ થવા અમે તિતસને કહ્યું. તિતસે જ સૌ પ્રથમ આ કાર્યનો પ્રારંભ કર્યો.

⁷but even as in every thing ye do abound, in faith, and word, and knowledge, and all diligence, and in your love to us, that also in this grace ye may abound;

⁷તમે ઘણી વસ્તુઓમાં-વિશ્વાસમાં, વાણીમાં, જ્ઞાનમાં, અને ખરેખર મદદ કરવામાં, અને અમારી પાસે શીખ્યા તે પ્રેમમાં સમૃદ્ધ છો. અને તેથી આપવાના કૃપા દાનમાં પણ તમે સમૃદ્ધ બનો તેવી અમે આશા રાખીએ છીએ.

⁸not according to command do I speak, but because of the diligence of others, and of your love proving the genuineness,

⁸આપવા માટેનો હું તમને આદેશ નથી આપતો. પરંતુ તમારો પ્રેમ સાચો પ્રેમ છે કે કેમ તે મારે જોવું છે. બીજા લોકો ખરેખર સહાયભૂત થાય છે, એ તમને બતાવીને હું આમ કરવા માંગુ છુ.

⁹for ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that because of you he became poor — being rich, that ye by that poverty may become rich.

⁹આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તની કૃપાથી તમે જ્ઞાત છો. તમે જાણો છો કે દેવ સાથે ખ્રિસ્ત સમૃદ્ધ હતો; પરંતુ તમારા માટે તે દીન બન્યો. તેના દરિદ્રી થવાથી તમે સમૃદ્ધ બનો તેથી ખ્રિસ્તે આમ કર્યુ.

¹⁰and an opinion in this do I give: for this to you [is] expedient, who not only to do, but also to will, did begin before — a year ago,

¹⁰હું ધારું છું કે તમારે આમ કરવું જોઈએ અને તે તમારા સારા માટે છે. ગત વર્ષે તમે સૌથી પહેલા અર્પણ કરવાની ઈચ્છા દર્શાવેલી. અને તમે જ સૌ પ્રથમ દાન આપ્યું.

¹¹and now also finish doing [it], that even as [there is] the readiness of the will, so also the finishing, out of that which ye have,

¹¹તેથી જે કાર્યનો તમે પ્રારંભ કર્યો છે, તેને પૂર્ણ કરો. જેથી તમારા “કાર્યની ઈચ્છા” અને તમારું “કાર્ય” સમતુલીત થશે. તમારી પાસે જે કઈ છે તેમાંથી આપો.

¹²for if the willing mind is present, according to that which any one may have it is well-accepted, not according to that which he hath not;

¹²જો તમારી આપવાની ઈચ્છા હશે, તો તમારા દાનનો સ્વીકાર થશે. તમારી ભેટનું મૂલ્યાંકન તમારી પાસે જે છે તેના ઉપરથી થશે અને નહિ કે તમારી પાસે જે નથી.

¹³for not that for others release, and ye pressured, [do I speak,]

¹³જ્યારે અન્ય લોકોને રાહત પ્રાપ્ત હોય ત્યારે તમને મુશ્કેલી પડે તેવું અમે ઈચ્છતા નથી. ત્યાં સમાનતા હોવી જોઈએ.

¹⁴but by equality, at the present time your abundance — for their want, that also their abundance may be for your want, that there may be equality,

¹⁴અત્યારે તમારી પાસે ઘણું છે. તમારી પાસે જે છે તે લોકોને જે વસ્તુની જરૂર છે તેઓને તે ઘણું મદદરૂપ થઈ શકે તેમ છે. ત્યાર બાદ, જ્યારે તેઓની પાસે પુષ્કળ હશે ત્યારે તેઓ તમારે જોઈતી વસ્તુ પ્રાપ્ત કરવામાં તમને મદદરૂપ થઈ શકે. અને ત્યાર પછી સમાનતા આવશે.

¹⁵according as it hath been written, `He who [did gather] much, had nothing over; and he who [did gather] little, had no lack.`

¹⁵જેમ પવિત્રશાસ્ત્રોમાં લખ્યું છે, “જે વ્યક્તિ એ ઘણું ભેગું કર્યુ છે તેની પાસે ઘણુ વધારે ન હતું, અને જે વ્યક્તિએ ધણું ઓછું ભેગું કર્યુ હતું તેની પાસે ખૂબ ઓછુ ન હતું.” નિર્ગમન 16:18

¹⁶And thanks to God, who is putting the same diligence for you in the heart of Titus,

¹⁶દેવની સ્તુતિ થાઓ કે તેણે તિતસને એટલો પ્રેમ આપ્યો જેટલો મને તમારા માટે છે.

¹⁷because indeed the exhortation he accepted, and being more diligent, of his own accord he went forth unto you,

¹⁷અમે તિતસને જે વસ્તુ કરવાની કહી તેનો સ્વીકાર કર્યો. તે તમારી પાસે આવવા ઘણું જ ઈચ્છતો હતો. આ તેનો પોતાનો વિચાર હતો.

¹⁸and we sent with him the brother, whose praise in the good news [is] through all the assemblies,

¹⁸અમે તિતસની સાથે તે ભાઈને મોકલીએ છીએ જે બધી જ મંડળીઓ સાથે પ્રસંશાને પાત્ર બન્યો છે. આ ભાઈની તેની સુવાર્તાની સેવા માટે તેનું અભિવાદન થયું છે.

¹⁹and not only so, but who was also appointed by vote by the assemblies, our fellow-traveller, with this favour that is ministered by us, unto the glory of the same Lord, and your willing mind;

¹⁹જ્યારે અમે આ ભેટ લઈ જતા હતા, ત્યારે પણ અમારી સાથે આવવા, મંડળીઓ દ્વારા આ ભાઈની પસંદગી થઈ હતી. અમે આ સેવા કરીએ છીએ. પ્રભુનો મહિમા વધારવા, અને એ દર્શાવવા કે અમે ખરેખર મદદરૂપ થવા માગીએ છીએ.

²⁰avoiding this, lest any one may blame us in this abundance that is ministered by us,

²⁰અમે ઘણા જ સજાગ છીએ કે જેથી કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિ અમે જે રીતે આટલી મોટી ભેટની સાથે કામ કરીએ છીએ તેની ટીકા ન કરે.

²¹providing right things, not only before the Lord, but also before men;

²¹અમે આ વસ્તુઓ એ રીતે કરવા ધારીએ છીએ. જે પ્રભુની આંખો સમક્ષ ન્યાયી છે. લોકો જેને ન્યાયી ગણે છે તેવું કરવાનો અમારો ઈરાદો છે.

²²and we sent with them our brother, whom we proved in many things many times being diligent, and now much more diligent, by the great confidence that is toward you,

²²અમે તેઓની સાથે અમારા ભાઈને પણ મોકલીએ છીએ, જે હમેશા મદદરૂપ થવાને તૈયાર હોય છે. ઘણી રીતે તેણે આ બાબતમાં અમને સાબિતી આપી છે. અને હવે જ્યારે તેને તમારામાં ઘણો વિશ્વાસ છે ત્યારે તો તે વધુ મદદરૂપ થવા ઈચ્છે છે.

²³whether — about Titus — my partner and towards you fellow-worker, whether — our brethren, apostles of assemblies — glory of Christ;

²³હવે તિતસ વિષે-તે મારો સાથીદાર છે. તમને મદદરૂપ થવા તે મારી સાથે કામ કરે છે. અને બીજા ભાઈઓ માટે તેઓ મંડળીઓ દ્વારા મોકલવામાં આવ્યા છે. અને તેઓ દેવને મહિમા આપે છે.

²⁴the shewing therefore of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf, to them shew ye, even in the face of the assemblies.

²⁴તેથી આ માણસોને દર્શાવો કે તમારી પાસે પ્રેમ છે. તેઓને બતાવો કે અમે કેમ તમારા માટે ગર્વ અનુભવીએ છીએ. પછી બધી જ મંડળીઓ આ જોશે.
