1And there were certain in Antioch, in the assembly there, prophets and teachers; both Barnabas, and Simeon who is called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen also — Herod the tetrarch`s foster-brother — and Saul;

2and in their ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, `Separate ye to me both Barnabas and Saul to the work to which I have called them,`
2આ બધા માણસો પ્રભુની સેવા અને ઉપવાસ કરતા હતા. પવિત્ર આત્માએ તેઓને કહ્યું, “બાર્નાબાસ અને શાઉલ વિશિષ્ટ કાર્યો કરવા માટે મને આપો. મેં આ કામ કરવા માટે તેઓની પસંદગી કરેલ છે.”
3then having fasted, and having prayed, and having laid the hands on them, they sent [them] away.
3તેથી મંડળીએ પ્રાર્થના અને ઉપવાસ કર્યા. તેઓએ તેઓના હાથ બાર્નાબાસ અને શાઉલ પર મૂક્યા અને તેઓને બહાર મોકલ્યા.
4These, indeed, then, having been sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, thence also they sailed to Cyprus,

5and having come unto Salamis, they declared the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews, and they had also John [as] a ministrant;

6and having gone through the island unto Paphos, they found a certain magian, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name [is] Bar-Jesus;
6તેઓ આખો ટાપુ ઓળંગીને પાફસના શહેરમાં ગયા. ત્યાં તેઓ એક યહૂદિ માણસને મળ્યા જે જાદુના ખેલ કરતો હતો. તેનું નામ બર્યેશું હતું. તે એક જૂઠો પ્રબોધક હતો.
7who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man; this one having called for Barnabas and Saul, did desire to hear the word of God,
7બર્યેશુ હંમેશા સર્ગિયુસ પાઉલની નજીક રહેતો, સર્ગિયુસ પાઉલ એક હાકેમ હતો. અને તે ખૂબ જ શાણો માણસ હતો. તેણે બાર્નાબાસ અને શાઉલને તેની પાસે આવવા કહ્યું. દેવનો સંદેશ સાંભળવાની તેની ઈચ્છા હતી.
8and there withstood them Elymas the magian — for so is his name interpreted — seeking to pervert the proconsul from the faith.
8પરંતુ અલિમાસ જાદુગર, બાર્નાબાસ અને શાઉલની વિરૂદ્ધ હતો. (ગ્રીક ભાષામાં બર્યેશુ માટે અલિમાસ નામ છે.) અલિમાસે હાકેમને ઈસુના વિશ્વાસમાંથી અટકાવવાનો પ્રયત્ન કર્યો.
9And Saul — who also [is] Paul — having been filled with the Holy Spirit, and having looked stedfastly on him,
9પણ શાઉલ તો પવિત્ર આત્માથી ભરપૂર હતો. પાઉલે (શાઉલનું બીજું નામ) અલિમાસ (બર્યેશુ) તરફ જોયું.
10said, `O full of all guile, and all profligacy, son of a devil, enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease perverting the right ways of the Lord?
10અને કહ્યું, “ઓ, શેતાનના દીકરા! તું જે કંઈ બધું ન્યાયી છે તેનો દુશ્મન છે. તું દુષ્ટ યુક્તિઓ અને જૂઠાણાંથી ભરપૂર છે. તું હંમેશા દેવના સત્યને અસત્યમાં ફેરવવા માટે પ્રયત્ન કરે છે.
11and now, lo, a hand of the Lord [is] upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season;` and presently there fell upon him a mist and darkness, and he, going about, was seeking some to lead [him] by the hand;
11હવે પ્રભુ તને સ્પર્શ કરશે અને તું આંધળો થઈશ. કેટલાક સમય માટે તું કંઈ જોઈ શકીશ નહિ-સૂર્યનો પ્રકાશ પણ નહિ.” પછી અલિમાસ માટે બધુંજ અંધકારમય બની ગયું. તે આજુબાજુ ચાલતા ભૂલો પડી ગયો. તે કોઈકને શોધવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરતો હતો, જે તેનો હાથ પકડીને દોરી શકે.
12then the proconsul having seen what hath come to pass, did believe, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.

13And those about Paul having set sail from Paphos, came to Perga of Pamphylia, and John having departed from them, did turn back to Jerusalem,
13પાઉલ અને તેની સાથે જે લોકો હતા તેઓ પાફસથી દૂર હોડી હંકારી ગયા. તેઓ પર્ગે નામના પમ્ફલિયા શહેરમાં આવ્યા. યોહાન માર્ક તેઓને છોડીને યરૂશાલેમમાં પાછો ફર્યો.
14and they having gone through from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia, and having gone into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, they sat down,

15and after the reading of the law and of the prophets, the chief men of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, `Men, brethren, if there be a word in you of exhortation unto the people — say on.`
15મૂસાના નિયમશાસ્ત્ર અને પ્રબોધકનાં લખાણો વંચાયા. પછી સભાસ્થાનના આગેવાનોએ પાઉલ અને બાર્નાબાસને સંદેશો મોકલ્યો, “ભાઈઓ, જો તમારી પાસે અહી લોકો માટે બોધરૂપી સંદેશ હોય તો, મહેરબાની કરીને બોલો!”
16And Paul having risen, and having beckoned with the hand, said, `Men, Israelites, and those fearing God, hearken:
16પાઉલ ઊભો થયો. તેણે તેનો હાથ ઊચો કર્યો અને કહ્યું, “મારા યહૂદિ ભાઈઓ અને બીજા લોકો તમે જે સાચા દેવની ભક્તિ કરો છો, કૃપા કરીને મને સાંભળો!
17the God of this people Israel did choose our fathers, and the people He did exalt in their sojourning in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm did He bring them out of it;
17ઈસ્ત્રાએલના દેવે આપણા પૂર્વજોને પસંદ કર્યા છે. તેઓ મિસર દેશમાં અજ્ઞાત રીતે રહેતા હતા, ત્યારે તે સમય દરમ્યાન દેવે તેના લોકોને સફળ થવામાં મદદ કરી. દેવ તેઓને તે દેશમાંથી વધારે સાર્મથ્યથી બહાર લાવ્યો.
18and about a period of forty years He did suffer their manners in the wilderness,

19and having destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, He did divide by lot to them their land.

20`And after these things, about four hundred and fifty years, He gave judges — till Samuel the prophet;
20આ બધું લગભગ 450 વર્ષમાં બન્યું. “આ પછી, દેવે આપણા લોકોને શમુએલ પ્રબોધકના સમય સુધી ન્યાયાધીશો આપ્યા.
21and thereafter they asked for a king, and God did give to them Saul, son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years;
21પછી તે લોકોએ રાજાની માંગણી કરી. તેથી દેવે તેઓને કીશનો દીકરો શાઉલ આપ્યો. શાઉલ બિન્યામીનના કુળનો હતો. તે 40 વર્ષ રાજા રહ્યો.
22and having removed him, He did raise up to them David for king, to whom also having testified, he said, I found David, the [son] of Jesse, a man according to My heart, who shall do all My will.
22પછી દેવે શાઉલને દૂર કરીને દાઉદને રાજા બનાવ્યો. દેવે દાઉદ વિષે જે કહ્યું તે આ છે, ‘દાઉદ, એ યશાઇનો દીકરો કે જે તેના વિચારોમાં મારા જેવો છે. હું તેની પાસે જે કરાવવા ઇચ્છું છું તે બધુંજ તે કરશે.’
23`Of this one`s seed God, according to promise, did raise to Israel a Saviour — Jesus,
23“દેવે દાઉદના વંશમાંથી એકને ઈસ્રાએલનો તારનાર તરીકે ઊભો કર્યો. તે વંશજ ઈસુ છે. દેવે આ કરવાનું વચન આપ્યું.
24John having first preached, before his coming, a baptism of reformation to all the people of Israel;
24ઈસુના આગમન પહેલા, યોહાને બધા યહૂદિ લોકોને બોધ આપ્યો. તેઓ પુસ્તાવો ઈચ્છે છે તે બતાવવા માટે યોહાને તે લોકોને બાપ્તિસ્મા લેવા કહ્યું.
25and as John was fulfilling the course, he said, Whom me do ye suppose to be? I am not [he], but, lo, he doth come after me, of whom I am not worthy to loose the sandal of [his] feet.
25જ્યારે યોહાન તેનું કાર્ય પુરું કરતો હતો, ત્યારે તેણે કહ્યું, ‘હું કોણ છું એ વિષે તમે શું ધારો છો? હું તે ખ્રિસ્ત નથી. તે મોડેથી આવશે. હું તો તેના જોડા છોડવાને પણ યોગ્ય નથી.’
26`Men, brethren, sons of the race of Abraham, and those among you fearing God, to you was the word of this salvation sent,
26“મારા ભાઈઓ, ઈબ્રાહિમના વંશજોના દીકરાઓ અને તમે બિનયહૂદિઓ કે જેઓ સાચા દેવને ભજો છો, ધ્યાનથી સાંભળો! આ તારણ વિષેના સમાચાર અમને મોકલવામાં આવેલ છે.
27for those dwelling in Jerusalem, and their chiefs, this one not having known, also the voices of the prophets, which every sabbath are being read — having judged [him] — did fulfill,
27યરૂશાલેમમાં રહેતા યહૂદિઓ અને યહૂદિ અધિકારીઓ ઈસુ તારનાર હતો તેનો અનુભવ કરતા નથી. પ્રબોધકોએ ઈસુ વિષે જે વચન કહ્યા છે તે પ્રત્યેક વિશ્રામવારે યહૂદિઓ સમક્ષ વાંચવામાં આવતા હતાં. પણ તેઓ સમજતા નહોતા. યહૂદિઓએ ઈસુનો તિરસ્કાર કર્યો, આ રીતે તેઓએ પ્રબોધકોના શબ્દોને સાચા બનાવ્યા!
28and no cause of death having found, they did ask of Pilate that he should be slain,
28ઈસુના મૃત્યુદંડ માટે તેઓને કોઇ ચોક્કસ કારણ જડ્યું નહિ પરંતુ તેઓએ પિલાતને તેને મારી નાખવા કહ્યું.
29and when they did complete all the things written about him, having taken [him] down from the tree, they laid him in a tomb;
29“ઈસુના વિષે થનારા ખરાબ બનાવોના લખાણો મુજબ યહૂદિઓએ સઘળું ખરાબ કર્યુ. પછી તેઓએ ઈસુને વધસ્તંભ પરથી ઉતારીને તેને કબરમાં મૂક્યો.
30and God did raise him out of the dead,
30પણ દેવે તેને મૃત્યુમાંથી ઉઠાડ્યો!
31and he was seen for many days of those who did come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
31આ પછી ઘણા દિવસો માટે જે લોકો ગાલીલથી યરૂશાલેમ ઈસુ સાથે ગયા હતા, તેઓએ ઈસુને જોયો. તેઓ હમણાં લોકોની આગળ તેના સાક્ષી છે.
32`And we to you do proclaim good news — that the promise made unto the fathers,
32“અમે દેવે અમારા પૂર્વજોને આપેલાં વચન વિષેની વધામણી કહીએ છીએ.
33God hath in full completed this to us their children, having raised up Jesus, as also in the second Psalm it hath been written, My Son thou art — I to-day have begotten thee.
33અમે તેનાં બાળકો છીએ. અને દેવે આ વચન અમારા માટે પરિપૂર્ણ કર્યુ છે. દેવે ઈસુને મૃત્યુમાંથી ઉઠાડીને આ કર્યુ છે. આપણે આ વિષે ગીતશાસ્ત્રમાં પણ વાંચીએ છીએ. ‘તુ મારો દીકરો છે, આજે હું તારો પિતા થયો છું.’ ગીતશાસ્ત્ર: 2:7
34`And that He did raise him up out of the dead, no more to return to corruption, he hath said thus — I will give to you the faithful kindnesses of David;
34દેવે ઈસુને મૃત્યુમાંથી ઉઠાડ્યો છે. ઈસુ ફરીથી કબરમાં કદાપિ જશે નહિ અને ધૂળમાં ફેરવાશે નહિ. તેથી દેવે કહ્યું: ‘હું તને સાચા અને પવિત્ર વચનો (આશીર્વાદો) આપીશ જે મેં દાઉદને આપ્યાં હતા.’ યશાયા 55:3
35wherefore also in another [place] he saith, Thou shalt not give Thy kind One to see corruption,
35પણ બીજી એક જગ્યાએ દેવ કહે છે: ‘તું તારા પવિત્રનાં શરીરને કબરમાં સડવા દઇશ નહિ.’ ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 16:10
36for David, indeed, his own generation having served by the will of God, did fall asleep, and was added unto his fathers, and saw corruption,
36દાઉદ જ્યારે જીવતો હતો ત્યારે તેણે દેવની ઈચ્છા પ્રમાણે કર્યુ. પછી તે મૃત્યુ પામ્યો. દાઉદને તેના પૂર્વજોની સાથે દાટવામાં આવ્યો અને કબરમાં તેના શરીરને સડો લાગ્યો.
37but he whom God did raise up, did not see corruption.
37પણ એક જેને દેવે મૃત્યુમાંથી ઉઠાડ્યો તેનું કબરમાં કોહવાણ થયું નહિ.
38`Let it therefore be known to you, men, brethren, that through this one to you is the forgiveness of sins declared,

39and from all things from which ye were not able in the law of Moses to be declared righteous, in this one every one who is believing is declared righteous;

40see, therefore, it may not come upon you that hath been spoken in the prophets:
40ધ્યાનથી સાંભળો! રખેને પ્રબોધકોના લેખમાંનુ આ વચન તમારા પર આવી પડે કે:
41See, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish, because a work I — I do work in your days, a work in which ye may not believe, though any one may declare [it] to you.`
41“ઓ તિરસ્કાર કરનારાઓ! સાંભળો, તમે આશ્ચર્ય પામશો, અને નાશ પામશો; કારણ કે તમારા સમય દરમ્યાન હું (દેવ) કંઈક કરીશ જે તમે માનશો નહિ. કદાચ જો કોઇ તમને તે સમજાવે તો પણ તમે તે માનશો નહિ!”‘ હબાકકુક 1:5
42And having gone forth out of the synagogue of the Jews, the nations were calling upon [them] that on the next sabbath these sayings may be spoken to them,
42જ્યારે પાઉલ અને બાર્નાબાસ સભાસ્થાન છોડતા હતા, લોકોએ પાઉલ અને બાર્નાબાસને આ પછીના બીજા વિશ્રામવારે આ વિષે વધારે કહેવા માટે ફરીથી આવવા કહ્યું.
43and the synagogue having been dismissed, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes did follow Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were persuading them to remain in the grace of God.
43સભા વિસર્જન થયા પછી, યહૂદિઓ અને ઘણા લોકો જે યહૂદિધર્મમાં પરિવર્તન થયા હતા અને સાચા દેવની ભક્તિ કરતા હતા તેઓ પાઉલ અને બાર્નાબાસને અનુસર્યા. પાઉલ અને બાર્નાબાસે તેઓને વાત કરી અને દેવની કૃપામાં ચાલુ રહેવા સમજાવ્યા.
44And on the coming sabbath, almost all the city was gathered together to hear the word of God,
44બીજા વિશ્રામવારે, લગભગ શહેરના બધા જ લોકો પ્રભુનો બોધ સાંભળવા ભેગા મળ્યા.
45and the Jews having seen the multitudes, were filled with zeal, and did contradict the things spoken by Paul — contradicting and speaking evil.
45યહૂદિઓએ આ બધા લોકોને ત્યાં જોયા. તેથી યહૂદિઓને વધારે ઈર્ષા થઈ. તેઓએ થોડાક અપશબ્દો કહ્યા. અને પાઉલે જે કહ્યું હતું તેના વિરોધમાં દલીલો કરી.
46And speaking boldly, Paul and Barnabas said, `To you it was necessary that first the word of God be spoken, and seeing ye do thrust it away, and do not judge yourselves worthy of the life age-during, lo, we do turn to the nations;
46પણ પાઉલ તથા બાર્નાબાસે ઘણી હિંમત રાખીને કહ્યું, તેઓએ કહ્યું, “અમારે પ્રથમ તમને યહૂદિઓને દેવના વચનો કહેવા જોઈએ. પણ તમે ધ્યાનથી સાંભળવાની ના પાડી. તમે તમારી જાતે ખોવાઇ જાઓ છો, અનંતજીવન પામવાને તમે પોતાને અયોગ્ય ઠરાવો છો! તેથી અમે હવે બીજા રાષ્ટ્રોના લોકો પાસે જઈશું.
47for so hath the Lord commanded us: I have set thee for a light of nations — for thy being for salvation unto the end of the earth.`
47પ્રભુ એ આપણને જે કરવાનું કહ્યું છે તે આ છે. પ્રભુએ કહ્યું છે: ‘મેં તમને બીજા રાષ્ટ્રો માટેનો પ્રકાશ થવા બનાવ્યા છે, જેથી કરીને તમે આખા વિશ્વમાં લોકોને તારણનો માર્ગ બતાવી શકશો.”‘ યશાયા 49:6
48And the nations hearing were glad, and were glorifying the word of the Lord, and did believe — as many as were appointed to life age-during;
48જ્યારે બિનયહૂદિઓએ પાઉલને આમ કહેતા સાંભળ્યો, ત્યારે તેઓએ ખુશ થઈને દેવનું વચન મહિમાવાન માન્યું અને લોકોમાંના ઘણાએ વિશ્વાસ કર્યો. તે લોકોની પસંદગી અનંતજીવન માટે કરવામાં આવી હતી.
49and the word of the Lord was spread abroad through all the region.
49અને તેથી આખા દેશમાં પ્રભુનો સંદેશ કહેવામાં આવ્યો હતો.
50And the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the first men of the city, and did raise persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and did put them out from their borders;
50પરંતુ યહૂદિઓએ ધાર્મિક તથા કુલીન સ્ત્રીઓને તથા શહેરના અધિકારીઓને ઉશ્કેરણી કરીને પાઉલ અને બાર્નાબાસની સતાવણી કરાવી. પરિણામે આ લોકોએ પાઉલ અને બાર્નાબાસને શહેરની બહાર હાંકી કાઢ્યા.
51and they having shaken off the dust of their feet against them, came to Iconium,
51તેથી પાઉલ અને બાર્નાબાસે તેમનાં પગોની ધૂળ ખંખેરી નાખી. પછી તેઓ ઈકોનિયા શહેરમાં ગયા.
52and the disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.
52પરંતુ અંત્યોખમાં ઈસુના શિષ્યો ખુશ હતા અને પવિત્ર આત્માથી ભરપૂર હતા.
