¹In the freedom, then, with which Christ did make you free — stand ye, and be not held fast again by a yoke of servitude;

¹સ્વતંત્રતામાં જીવવા ખ્રિસ્તે આપણને મુક્ત બનાવ્યા. તેથી દઢ રહો, બદલાશો નહિ અને નિયમની ગુલામી તરફ પાછા ન વળશો.

²lo, I Paul do say to you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing;

²સાંભળો! હું પાઉલ છું. હું તમને કહું છું કે સુન્નત કરાવીને તમે નિયમ તરફ પાછા ફરશો, તો પણ તમને ખ્રિસ્તનું કોઈ મહત્વ નથી.

³and I testify again to every man circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law;

³ફરીથી હું દરેક માણસને ચેતવું છું: જો તમે સુન્નતને આવકારી, તો તમારે બધા જ નિયમો અનુસરવા જોઈએ.

⁴ye were freed from the Christ, ye who in law are declared righteous; from the grace ye fell away;

⁴નિયમશાસ્ત્ર થકી જો તમે દેવ સાથે ન્યાયી થવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરશો, તો ખ્રિસ્ત સાથેના તમારા જીવનનો અંત આવશે તમે દેવની કૃપાથી વિમુખ થયા છો.

⁵for we by the Spirit, by faith, a hope of righteousness do wait for,

⁵પરતું અમે આશા રાખીએ છીએ. દેવની સાથે ન્યાયી બનીશું. અને અમે આ માટે આત્મા દ્વારા આશાની રાહ જોઈએ છે.

⁶for in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith through love working.

⁶જ્યારે વ્યક્તિ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તમય બને છે, ત્યારે તેની સુન્નત થઈ છે કે નહિ તે મહત્વનું નથી. મહત્વનો તે વિશ્વાસ છે, એ પ્રકારનો વિશ્વાસ કે જે તેની જાતે પ્રેમ દ્વારા વ્યક્ત થાય છે.

⁷Ye were running well; who did hinder you — not to obey the truth?

⁷તમે સારી રીતે દોડી રહ્યા હતા. તમે સત્યથી આજ્ઞાંકિત હતા. તમને કોણે હવે વધુ લાંબા સમય માટે સત્યનો માર્ગ નહિ અનુસરવા સમજાવ્યા?

⁸the obedience [is] not of him who is calling you!

⁸એ એક (દેવ) જેણે તમને પસંદ કર્યા છે તેના તરફથી તો તે સમજાવટ નથી જ આવી.

⁹a little leaven the whole lump doth leaven;

⁹સાવધ રહેજો! “માત્ર થોડું ખમીર આખા લોદાને ફુલાવે છે.”

¹⁰I have confidence in regard to you in the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded; and he who is troubling you shall bear the judgment, whoever he may be.

¹⁰મને પ્રભુમાં વિશ્વાસ છે કે તમે તે જુદા વિચારોમાં માનશો નહિ. તે વિચારોથી કેટલાક લોકો તમને મુંઝવણમાં મૂકે છે. તે વ્યક્તિ જે કોઈ હશે તેને શિક્ષા થશે.

¹¹And I, brethren, if uncircumcision I yet preach, why yet am I persecuted? then hath the stumbling-block of the cross been done away;

¹¹મારા ભાઈઓ અને બહેનો, લોકોએ સુન્નત કરાવવી જ જોઈએ તેવો ઉપદેશ હું આપતો નથી. જો હું સુન્નતનો ઉપદેશ આપતો હોઉં તો મને શા માટે સતાવાય છે? જો હજુ પણ હું એવો ઉપદેશ આપતો હોઉં કે લોકોએ સુન્નત કરાવવી જ જોઈએ, તો વધસ્તંભ માટેના મારા ઉપદેશ માટે કોઈ સમસ્યા નથી.

¹²O that even they would cut themselves off who are unsettling you!

¹²હું ઈચ્છું છું કે જે લોકો તમારી કનડગત કરે છે તેઓ સુન્નતની સાથે ખમીરનો પણ સમાવેશ કરશે.

¹³For ye — to freedom ye were called, brethren, only not the freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through the love serve ye one another,

¹³મારા ભાઈઓ અને બહેનો, દેવ તમને મુક્ત થવા બોલાવે છે. પરંતુ તમારી સ્વતંત્રતાના બહાના હેઠળ એવી વસ્તુ ના કરશો જે તમારા પાપી સ્વભાવને પ્રફૂલ્લિત કરે. પરંતુ પ્રેમથી એકબીજાની સેવા કરો.

¹⁴for all the law in one word is fulfilled — in this: `Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself;`

¹⁴સમગ્ર નિયમ આ એક જ આજ્ઞામાં સમાવેશ થયો છે: “તું જેમ પોતા પર પ્રેમ રાખે છે તેમ તારા પડોશી પર પ્રેમ રાખ.”

¹⁵and if one another ye do bite and devour, see — that ye may not by one another be consumed.

¹⁵તમે એક બીજાને નુકસાન પહોંચાડવાનું અને એકબીજાને તોડી પાડવાનું ચાલુ રાખો છો; સાવધ રહો! તમે એકબીજાનો સંપૂર્ણ નાશ કરશો.

¹⁶And I say: In the Spirit walk ye, and the desire of the flesh ye may not complete;

¹⁶તો હું તમને કહું છું: આત્માને અનુસરીને જીવો. તો તમારો પાપી દેહ ઈચ્છે છે તેવા પાપી કામો તમે નહિ કરો.

¹⁷for the flesh doth desire contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit contrary to the flesh, and these are opposed one to another, that the things that ye may will — these ye may not do;

¹⁷આપણો દેહ આત્માની વિરુદ્ધ ઈચ્છા કરે છે. અને આત્મા જે આપણા પાપી દેહની વિરુંદ્ધ છે તે ઈચ્છે છે. આ બે ભિન્ન વસ્તુઓ એકબીજાની વિરુંદ્ધ છે. તેથી તમે જે ખરેખર ઈચ્છો છો, તે વસ્તુ તમે કરતા નથી૤

¹⁸and if by the Spirit ye are led, ye are not under law.

¹⁸પરંતુ જો તમે આત્માથી દોરાશો, તો તમે નિયમને આધિન નથી.

¹⁹And manifest also are the works of the flesh, which are: Adultery, whoredom, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

¹⁹આપણા દેહનાં કામ તો ખુલ્લા છે એટલે: વ્યભિચાર, અપવિત્રતા, વિશ્વાસઘાત,

²⁰idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strifes, emulations, wraths, rivalries, dissensions, sects,

²⁰જુઠા દેવની પૂજા, મેલીવિદ્યા, વૈરભાવ, મુશ્કેલીઓ ઊભી કરવી, ઈર્ષા, અતિક્રોધ, સ્વાર્થપણું, લોકોને એકબીજાની વિરુંદ્ધ ઉશ્કેરવા, પક્ષાપક્ષી,

²¹envyings, murders, drunkennesses, revellings, and such like, of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that those doing such things the reign of God shall not inherit.

²¹અદેખાઈ, છાકટાઈ, વિલાસ અને આ પ્રકારના એવા કામ, જેમ મે તમને પહેલા જે રીતે ચેતવ્યા હતા, તેમ અત્યારે ચેતવું છું. જે લોકો આવા કામો કરે છે, તેઓનું દેવના રાજ્યમાં સ્થાન નથી.

²²And the fruit of the Spirit is: Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith,

²²પરંતુ પવિત્ર આત્માનું ફળ પ્રેમ, આનંદ, શાંતિ, સહનશીલતા, માયાળુપણું, ભલાઈ, વિશ્વાસુપણું,

²³meekness, temperance: against such there is no law;

²³નમ્રતા, તથા સંયમ છે એવાંની વિરુંદ્ધ કોઈ નિયમ નથી જે કહી શકે કે આ વસ્તુઓ ખોટી છે.

²⁴and those who are Christ`s, the flesh did crucify with the affections, and the desires;

²⁴જે લોકો ખ્રિસ્તના છે તેઓએ દેહને તેના વિષયો તથા ઈચ્છાઓ સુદ્ધાં બધસ્તંભે જડ્યો છે. તેઓએ તેઓની જૂની સ્વાર્થી લાગણીઓનો ત્યાગ કર્યો છે અને દુષ્ટ કામો જે તેઓ કરવા ઈચ્છતા હતા તેનો પણ ત્યાગ કર્યો છે.

²⁵if we may live in the Spirit, in the Spirit also we may walk;

²⁵આપણને આપણું નવજીવન આત્માથી પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે. તેથી આપણે આત્માને અનુસરવો જોઈએ.

²⁶let us not become vain-glorious — one another provoking, one another envying!

²⁶આપણે ઘમંડી થઈને એકબીજાને ખીજવવા જોઈએ નહિ. આપણે એકબીજા માટે મુશ્કેલી ઊભી ન કરવી જોઈએ. અને આપણે એકબીજાની ઈર્ષા ન કરવી જોઈએ.
