¹Let brotherly love remain;

¹તમે ખ્રિસ્તમાં ભાઈઓ અને બહેનો છો આથી એકબીજા પર પ્રીતિ કરવાનું ચાલું રાખો.

²of the hospitality be not forgetful, for through this unawares certain did entertain messengers;

²મહેમાનોનો સત્કાર કરવાનું ના ભૂલશો. એમ કરવાથી કેટલાક લોકોએ અજાણતા પણ આકાશના દૂતોનું સ્વાગત કર્યુ છે.

³be mindful of those in bonds, as having been bound with them, of those maltreated, as also yourselves being in the body;

³જેઓ કારાવાસમાં છે તેઓને ભૂલો નહિ, જાણે તમે તેઓની સાથે જેલમાં હોય એમ તેઓની યાતનાઓના સહભાગી બનો. અત્યાચાર સહન કરે છે તેઓની સ્થિતિમાં તમે પણ છો એમ માની તેઓના દુ:ખમાં સહભાગી બનો.

⁴honourable [is] the marriage in all, and the bed undefiled, and whoremongers and adulterers God shall judge.

⁴સર્વમાં લગ્ન માન યોગ્ય માનો. લગ્નમાં બે જણ વચ્ચેના સંબંધો શુદ્ધ હોવા જોઈએ. જેથી બિછાનું નિર્મળ રહે; કેમ કે દેવ લંપટોનો તથા વ્યભિચારીઓનો ન્યાય કરશે.

⁵Without covetousness the behaviour, being content with the things present, for He hath said, `No, I will not leave, no, nor forsake thee,`

⁵નાણાનાં લોભથી દૂર રહો તમારી પાસે જેટલું હોય તેટલામાં સંતોષ માનો. દેવે કહ્યું છે: “હું તને કદી મૂકી દઇશ નહિ; અને તને તજીશ પણ નહિ.” પુનર્નિયમ 31:6

⁶so that we do boldly say, `The Lord [is] to me a helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me.`

⁶તેથી જરા પણ સંકોચ રાખ્યા વગર આપણે કહી શકીએ કે, “પ્રભુ મને સહાય કરનાર છે; હું ડરીશ નહિ. માણસ મને શું કરનાર છે?” ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 118:6

⁷Be mindful of those leading you, who did speak to you the word of God, whose faith — considering the issue of the behaviour — be imitating,

⁷તમને દેવના વચનો શીખવનાર તમારા આગેવાનોને યાદ કરો. તેઓ જે રીતે જીવ્યા અને તેમનું જીવન પૂર્ણ કર્યુ તેનો વિચાર કરો અને તેઓની માફક દેવમાં વિશ્વાસ રાખો.

⁸Jesus Christ yesterday and to-day the same, and to the ages;

⁸ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત ગઈકાલે આજે અને સદાને માટે એવો ને એવો જ છે.

⁹with teachings manifold and strange be not carried about, for [it is] good that by grace the heart be confirmed, not with meats, in which they who were occupied were not profited;

⁹તમે દરેક જાતના વિચિત્ર ઉપદેશથી ભરમાઈ જશો નહિ. જે તમને અવળા માર્ગે દોરી જાય, સાચી વસ્તુ એ છે કે દેવની કૃપાથી જ તમારા હ્રદયને બળવાન બનાવવું. ખોરાક વિષેના નિયમો પાળવાથી એ મળતું નથી. આ નિયમો પાળનારને કશો જ ફાયદો થતો નથી.

¹⁰we have an altar, of which to eat they have no authority who the tabernacle are serving,

¹⁰અમારી પાસે બલિદાન છે. પરંતુ યાજકો જેઓ પવિત્ર મંડપોમાં સેવા કરે છે તેઓ તે બલિદાનમાંથી ખાઇ શકતા નથી.

¹¹for of those beasts whose blood is brought for sin into the holy places through the chief priest — of these the bodies are burned without the camp.

¹¹યહૂદી નિયમ પ્રમાણે પ્રમુખયાજક વધ કરેલાં પશુઓનું રક્ત પવિત્ર સ્થાનમાં લઈ તો જતાં હતા, પરંતુ પાપો માટે તે પશુઓના શરીર શહેર બહાર બાળી નાખવામાં આવતા.

¹²Wherefore, also Jesus — that he might sanctify through [his] own blood the people — without the gate did suffer;

¹²આ કારણને લીધે અને તેના લોકોને તેની પોતાના લોહી સાથે પવિત્ર બનાવવાના હેતુથી ઈસુ દુ:ખ ભોગવીને શહેરની બહાર મરણ પામ્યો.

¹³now, then, may we go forth unto him without the camp, his reproach bearing;

¹³આપણે પણ શહેરની બહાર એટલે કે છાવણીની બહાર તેની પાસે જવું જોઈએ. અને તેની સાથે તેણે જે દુ:ખ તથા અપમાન સહન કર્યા છે તે આપણે સ્વીકારીએ.

¹⁴for we have not here an abiding city, but the coming one we seek;

¹⁴આ પૃથ્વી પર જે શહેર છે તે આપણું કાયમી ઘર નથી. આપણે સદાકાળ થનાર ભવિષ્યમાં જે મળવાનું છે તે શહેરની રાહ જોઈ રહ્યા છીએ.

¹⁵through him, then, we may offer up a sacrifice of praise always to God, that is, the fruit of lips, giving thanks to His name;

¹⁵તેથી ઈસુ દ્ધારા આપણા અર્પણો દેવને આપવાનું સતત ચાલું રાખવાનું છે. તેનું નામ કબૂલ કરનારા હોઠોના ફળનું અર્પણ એ આપણી સ્તુતિ છે.

¹⁶and of doing good, and of fellowship, be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God is well-pleased.

¹⁶બીજાના માટે ભલું કરવાનંુ ભૂલશો નહિ. તમારી પાસે જે કાંઈ છે તે બીજા સાથે વહેંચો. કારણ કે દેવ આવાં અર્પણોથી પ્રસન્ન થાય છે.

¹⁷Be obedient to those leading you, and be subject, for these do watch for your souls, as about to give account, that with joy they may do this, and not sighing, for this [is] unprofitable to you.

¹⁷તમારા આગેવાનોની આજ્ઞા માનો અને તેમની સત્તાને આધીન થાઓ. તેઓ હિસાબ રાખનારાઓની જેમ તમારા આત્માઓની ચોકી કરે છે. એ માટે કે તેઓ આનંદથી તે કરે. પણ શોકથી નહિ, કારણ કે એથી તમને ગેરલાભ થશે.

¹⁸Pray for us, for we trust that we have a good conscience, in all things willing to behave well,

¹⁸અમારા માટે પ્રાર્થના કરો, કેમ કે અમે જે કરીએ છીએ, તે અમને ન્યાયી લાગે છે. કારણ કે અમારો ધ્યેય હંમેશા જે સૌથી ઉત્તમ છે તે કરવાનો છે.

¹⁹and more abundantly do I call upon [you] to do this, that more quickly I may be restored to you.

¹⁹હું તમને વિનંતી કરું છું, આના માટે ખાસ પ્રાર્થના કરો અને તમે મારા માટે પ્રાર્થના કરો જેથી હું તમારી પાસે જલદી પાછો આવી શકું. બીજી કોઈ વસ્તુ નહિ પણ મારે આજ જોઈએ છે.

²⁰And the God of the peace, who did bring up out of the dead the great shepherd of the sheep — in the blood of an age-during covenant — our Lord Jesus,

²¹make you perfect in every good work to do His will, doing in you that which is well-pleasing before Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom [is] the glory — to the ages of the ages! Amen.

²²And I entreat you, brethren, suffer the word of the exhortation, for also through few words I have written to you.

²²મારા ભાઈઓ અને બહેનો, મેં જે તમને કહ્યું છે તે તમને ધ્યાનથી સાંભળવા વિનંતી કરું છું. તમને મજબૂત કરવા મેં કહ્યુ છે અને ટૂંકમાં લખ્યું છે. ભાઈઓ મારે તમને એ જણાવવું છે કે તિમોથી હવે જેલમાંથી છૂટ્યો છે, જો તે અહીં વહેલો આવશે તો, હું તેની સાથે તમારી પાસે આવીને તમને મળીશ.

²³Know ye that the brother Timotheus is released, with whom, if he may come more shortly, I will see you.
