¹To everything — a season, and a time to every delight under the heavens:

²A time to bring forth, And a time to die. A time to plant, And a time to eradicate the planted.

²Ao ny andro ahaterahana, ary ao ny andro ahafatesana; Ao ny andro ambolena, ary ao ny andro anongotana na nambolena;

³A time to slay, And a time to heal, A time to break down, And a time to build up.

³Ao ny andro amonoana, ary ao ny andro anasitranana; Ao ny andro andravana, ary ao ny andro ananganana;

⁴A time to weep, And a time to laugh. A time to mourn, And a time to skip.

⁴Ao ny andro itomaniana, ary ao ny andro ihomehezana; Ao ny andro isaonana, ary ao ny andro andihizana;

⁵A time to cast away stones, And a time to heap up stones. A time to embrace, And a time to be far from embracing.

⁵Ao ny andro anariam-bato, ary ao ny andro anangonam-bato; Ao ny andro anohonana, ary ao ny andro ifadiana tsy hanohona;

⁶A time to seek, And a time to destroy. A time to keep, And a time to cast away.

⁶Ao ny andro itadiavana, ary ao ny andro ahaverezana; Ao ny andro itehirizana, ary ao ny andro anariana;

⁷A time to rend, And a time to sew. A time to be silent, And a time to speak.

⁷Ao ny andro andriarana, ary ao ny andro anjairana; Ao ny andro anginana, ary ao ny andro itenenana;

⁸A time to love, And a time to hate. A time of war, And a time of peace.

⁸Ao ny andro itiavana, ary ao ny andro ankahalana; Ao ny andro iadiana, ary ao ny andro ihavanana.

⁹What advantage hath the doer in that which he is labouring at?

⁹Inona no soa azon'ny miasa amin'izay isasarany?

¹⁰I have seen the travail that God hath given to the sons of man to be humbled by it.

¹⁰Efa hitako ny asa mampahory izay nomen'Andriamanitra ny zanak'olombelona hisasarany.

¹¹The whole He hath made beautiful in its season; also, that knowledge He hath put in their heart without which man findeth not out the work that God hath done from the beginning even unto the end.

¹¹Ny zavatra rehetra samy nataony ho mendrika amin'ny fotoany avy; ary ny mandrakizay dia efa nataony tao am-pony, kanefa tsy hitan'ny olona ny asan'Andriamanitra hatramin'ny voalohany ka hatramin'ny farany.[na: izao tontolo izao]

¹²I have known that there is no good for them except to rejoice and to do good during their life,

¹²Fantatro fa tsy misy tsara amin'ny olombelona afa-tsy ny mifaly sy ny manao tsara, raha mbola velona koa izy.[Na: mahazo soa]

¹³yea, even every man who eateth and hath drunk and seen good by all his labour, it [is] a gift of God.

¹³Ary koa, raha mihinana sy misotro ary finaritra amin'ny fisasarany rehetra ny olombelona, dia fanomezan'Andriamanitra izany.

¹⁴I have known that all that God doth is to the age, to it nothing is to be added, and from it nothing is to be withdrawn; and God hath wrought that they do fear before Him.

¹⁴Fantatro fa izay rehetra ataon'Andriamanitra dia haharitra mandrakizay; tsy azo ampiana ary tsy azo analana izany; ka dia ataon'Andriamanitra matahotra eo imasony ny olona.

¹⁵What is that which hath been? already it is, and that which [is] to be hath already been, and God requireth that which is pursued.

¹⁵Izay atao izao dia efa natao fahiny; ary izay mbola ho avy dia efa nisy fahiny ihany koa; ary mbola tadiavin'Andriamanitra indray izay efa lasa. [Heb. voaroaka]

¹⁶And again, I have seen under the sun the place of judgment — there [is] the wicked; and the place of righteousness — there [is] the wicked.

¹⁶Ary izao koa no efa hitako atỳ ambanin'ny masoandro: ny fitoeran'ny fitsarana nisy faharatsiana tao; ary ny fitoeran'ny fahamarinana nisy faharatsiana koa tao.

¹⁷I said in my heart, `The righteous and the wicked doth God judge, for a time [is] to every matter and for every work there.`

¹⁷Hoy izaho anakampo: Samy hotsarain'Andriamanitra na ny marina na ny meloka; fa any dia samy manana ny androny avy ny zavatra rehetra sy ny asa rehetra.

¹⁸I said in my heart concerning the matter of the sons of man that God might cleanse them, so as to see that they themselves [are] beasts.

¹⁸Hoy izaho anakampo: Noho ny amin'ny zanak'olombelona izany, mba hizahan'Andriamanitra toetra azy, ka ho hitany fa raha ny tenany ihany, dia biby izy.[Na: hanadiovan'Andriamanitra]

¹⁹For an event [is to] the sons of man, and an event [is to] the beasts, even one event [is] to them; as the death of this, so [is] the death of that; and one spirit [is] to all, and the advantage of man above the beast is nothing, for the whole [is] vanity.

¹⁹Fa zavatra sendrasendra foana ny zanak'olombelona, ary zavatra sendrasendra foana koa ny biby, mitovy ihany ny mihatra amin'izy roa tonta; fa toy ny ahafatesan'ny iray no ahafatesan'ny iray koa; eny, iray ihany no fofonaina ananan'izy rehetra; ary tsy misy ihoaran'ny olona noho ny biby; fa samy zava-poana izy rehetra.[Na: Fa izay manjo ny zanak'olombelona dia manjo ny biby koa]

²⁰The whole are going unto one place, the whole have been from the dust, and the whole are turning back unto the dust.

²⁰Izy rehetra samy mankamin'ny fitoerana iray: avy tamin'ny vovoka izy rehetra, ary hiverina ho amin'ny vovoka indray izy rehetra.[Na: hody]

²¹Who knoweth the spirit of the sons of man that is going up on high, and the spirit of the beast that is going down below to the earth?

²¹Iza no mahalala ny fanahin'ny olombelona, na miakatra any ambony izy, na tsia, ary ny fanahin'ny biby, na midina amin'ny tany izy, na tsia? [Na: Iza no mahalala ny fanahin'ny olombelona izay miakatra any ambony, na ny fanahin'ny biby izay midina amin'ny tany?]Dia efa hitako fa tsy misy tsara noho ny ifalian'ny olona amin'ny asany, satria izany no anjarany; fa iza no hampahalala azy izay ho avy any aoriany?

²²And I have seen that there is nothing better than that man rejoice in his works, for it [is] his portion; for who doth bring him in to look on that which is after him?
