1My son! keep my sayings, And my commands lay up with thee.
1Anaka, tandremo ny teniko, Ary raketo ao aminao ny didiko.
2Keep my commands, and live, And my law as the pupil of thine eye.
2Tandremo ny didiko, dia ho velona ianao; Ary tandremo toy ny anakandriamasonao ny lalàko.
3Bind them on thy fingers, Write them on the tablet of thy heart.
3Afehezo eo amin'ny rantsan-tananao izy, Soraty ao amin'ny fonao tahaka ny amin'ny vato fisaka izy.
4Say to wisdom, `My sister Thou [art].` And cry to understanding, `Kinswoman!`
4Ny fahendrena dia ilazao hoe: Anabaviko ianao; Ary ny fahafantarana dia antsoy hoe: Sakaiza mahazatra ianao;
5To preserve thee from a strange woman, From a stranger who hath made smooth her sayings.
5Mba hiarovana anao amin'ny vehivavy jejo, Dia amin'ny vahiny janga izay manao teny mandrobo.[Heb. vehivavy tsy vadinao]
6For, at a window of my house, Through my casement I have looked out,
6Fa teo amin'ny varavarankelin'ny tranoko, Dia teo amin'ny makarakara, no nitsirihako,
7And I do see among the simple ones, I discern among the sons, A young man lacking understanding,
7Ka nahita anankiray tamin'ny kely saina aho, Eny, nandinika ny tovolahy aho ka nahita zazalahy anankiray tsy ampy saina,
8Passing on in the street, near her corner, And the way [to] her house he doth step,
8Izay nandeha tamin'ny lalana akaikin'ny zoron-tranon'ny vehivavy janga Sy nizotra nankany an-tranony,
9In the twilight — in the evening of day, In the darkness of night and blackness.
9Nony takariva ilay somambisamby iny Sy tamin'ny alina efa maizina dia maizina.
10And, lo, a woman to meet him — (A harlot`s dress, and watchful of heart,
10Dia, indro, nisy vehivavy nitsena azy Sady manao fitafin'ny janga no mifetsy am-po,
11Noisy she [is], and stubborn, In her house her feet rest not.
11Sady vavàna no maditra, Tsy mahajanona ao an-tranony ny tongony;
12Now in an out-place, now in broad places, And near every corner she lieth in wait) —
12Fa vetivety mby eny an-dalam-be izy, ary vetivety mby eny an-tsena, Ary mamitsaka eny an-joron-trano rehetra eny izy.
13And she laid hold on him, and kissed him, She hath hardened her face, and saith to him,
13Ka dia nisavika ilay tovolahy izy ka nanoroka azy Sady nisolantsolana taminy ka nilaza hoe:
14`Sacrifices of peace-offerings [are] by me, To-day I have completed my vows.
14Efa nivoady hanatitra fanati-pihavanana aho; Ary androany no nanefako ny voadiko.
15Therefore I have come forth to meet thee, To seek earnestly thy face, and I find thee.
15Koa dia nivoaka hitsena anao aho, Mba hitady fatratra ny tarehinao, ka dia nahita anao tokoa.
16[With] ornamental coverings I decked my couch, Carved works — cotton of Egypt.
16Ny fandriako efa nasiako firakotra tsara, Dia lambam-pandriana misoratsoratra voafoly hatrany Egypta.
17I sprinkled my bed — myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
17Efa norarahako zava-manitra ny fandriako, Dia miora sy hazomanitra ary havozo manitra.[Heb. ahalima]
18Come, we are filled [with] loves till the morning, We delight ourselves in loves.
18Andeha, aoka isika hivoky fitia ambara-pahamarain'ny andro, Aoka ho feno fahafinaretana amin'ny fitiavana isika.
19For the man is not in his house, He hath gone on a long journey.
19Fa tsy ao an-trano ny lehilahy, Fa lasa nivahiny lavitra izy;
20A bag of money he hath taken in his hand, At the day of the new moon he cometh to his house.`
20Ny kitampom-bola dia nentiny any an-tànany, Ka tsy mbola hody izy mandra-pahafenon'ny volana.
21She turneth him aside with the abundance of her speech, With the flattery of her lips she forceth him.
21Tamin'ny teny maro no nampanekeny azy, Tamin'ny fandroboan'ny molony no nitaomany azy,
22He is going after her straightway, As an ox unto the slaughter he cometh, And as a fetter unto the chastisement of a fool,
22Ka dia nandeha nanaraka azy niaraka tamin'izay ilay zatovo, Tahaka ny omby entina hovonoina, Ary tahaka ny adala hogadrana, [Na: Na iza na iza mandeha manaraka azy dia][Heb. tahaka ny gadra ho famaizana ny adala]
23Till an arrow doth split his liver, As a bird hath hastened unto a snare, And hath not known that it [is] for its life.
23Ambara-piboroaky ny lefom-pohy amin'ny atiny, Ary tahaka ny vorona mipaoka ny fandrika, Fa tsy fantany hahafaty ny ainy izany.
24And now, ye sons, hearken to me, And give attention to sayings of my mouth.
24Koa mihainoa ahy ianareo, anaka, Ary tandremo ny teny aloaky ny vavako.
25Let not thy heart turn unto her ways, Do not wander in her paths,
25Aoka tsy hivily ho any amin'ny lalany ny fonareo, Ary aza mania ho amin'ny alehany.
26For many [are] the wounded she caused to fall, And mighty [are] all her slain ones.
26Fa betsaka no naripany ka maty; Ary maro be no efa matiny.Ny tranony dia lalana mankany amin'ny fiainan-tsi-hita, Eny, midina ho any amin'ny efi-tranon'ny fahafatesana.[Heb. Sheola]
27The ways of Sheol — her house, Going down unto inner chambers of death!
27Ny tranony dia lalana mankany amin'ny fiainan-tsi-hita, Eny, midina ho any amin'ny efi-tranon'ny fahafatesana.[Heb. Sheola]
