1And Moab transgresseth against Israel after the death of Ahab,
1ആഹാബ് മരിച്ചശേഷം മോവാബ്യര് യിസ്രായേലിനോടു മത്സരിച്ചു.
2and Ahaziah falleth through the lattice in his upper chamber that [is] in Samaria, and is sick, and sendeth messengers, and saith unto them, `Go ye, inquire of Baal-Zebub god of Ekron if I recover from this sickness.`
2അഹസ്യാവു ശമര്യ്യയിലെ തന്റെ മാളികയുടെ കിളിവാതിലില്കൂടി വീണു ദീനംപിടിച്ചു; അവന് ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചുഈ ദീനം മാറി എനിക്കു സൌഖ്യം വരുമോ എന്നു എക്രോനിലെ ദേവനായ ബാല് സെബൂബിനോടു ചെന്നു ചോദിപ്പിന് എന്നു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.
3And a messenger of Jehovah hath spoken unto Elijah the Tishbite, `Rise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and speak unto them, Is it because there is not a God in Israel — ye are going to inquire of Baal Zebub god of Ekron?
3എന്നാല് യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന് തിശ്ബ്യനായ ഏലീയാവോടു കല്പിച്ചതുനീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ശമര്യ്യാരാജാവിന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു അവരോടുയിസ്രായേലില് ദൈവം ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞിട്ടോ നിങ്ങള് എക്രോനിലെ ദേവനായ ബാല് സെബൂബിനോടു അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പാന് പോകുന്നതു?
4and therefore, thus said Jehovah, The bed whither thou hast gone up, thou dost not come down from it, for thou dost certainly die;` and Elijah goeth on.
4ഇതുനിമിത്തം നീ കയറിയിരിക്കുന്ന കട്ടിലില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങാതെ നിശ്ചയമായി മരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറക. അങ്ങനെ ഏലീയാവു പോയി.
5And the messengers turn back unto him, and he saith unto them, `What [is] this — ye have turned back!`
5ദൂതന്മാര് മടങ്ങിവന്നാറെ അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് മടങ്ങിവന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
6And they say unto him, `A man hath come up to meet us, and saith unto us, Go, turn back unto the king who sent you, and ye have said unto him, Thus said Jehovah, Is it because there is not a God in Israel — thou art sending to inquire of Baal-Zebub god of Ekron? therefore, the bed whither thou hast gone up, thou dost not come down from it, for thou dost certainly die.`
6അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഒരാള് ഞങ്ങളെ എതിരേറ്റുവന്നു ഞങ്ങളോടുനിങ്ങളെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നുയിസ്രായേലില് ദൈവം ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞിട്ടോ നീ എക്രോനിലെ ദേവനായ ബാല്സെബൂബിനോടു അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പാന് അയക്കുന്നതു? ഇതുനിമിത്തം നീ കയറിയിരിക്കുന്ന കട്ടിലില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങാതെ നിശ്ചയമായി മരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു പറവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7And he saith unto them, `What [is] the fashion of the man who hath come up to meet you, and speaketh unto you these words?`
7അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങളെ എതിരേറ്റുവന്നു ഈ വാക്കു നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞ ആളുടെ വേഷം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
8And they say unto him, `A man — hairy, and a girdle of skin girt about his loins;` and he saith, `He [is] Elijah the Tishbite.`
8അവന് രോമവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു അരെക്കു തോല്വാറു കെട്ടിയ ആളായിരുന്നു എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് തിശ്ബ്യനായ ഏലീയാവു തന്നേ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.
9And he sendeth unto him a head of fifty and his fifty, and he goeth up unto him (and lo, he is sitting on the top of the hill), and he speaketh unto him, `O man of God, the king hath spoken, Come down.`
9പിന്നെ രാജാവു അമ്പതുപേര്ക്കും അധിപതിയായ ഒരുവനെയും അവന്റെ അമ്പതു ആളെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു; അവന് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു; അവന് ഒരു മലമുകളില് ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു; അവന് അവനോടുദൈവപുരുഷാ, ഇറങ്ങിവരുവാന് രാജാവു കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
10And Elijah answereth and speaketh unto the head of the fifty, `And if I [am] a man of God, fire doth come down from the heavens, and consume thee and thy fifty;` and fire cometh down from the heavens, and consumeth him and his fifty.
10ഏലീയാവു അമ്പതുപേര്ക്കും അധിപതിയായവനോടുഞാന് ദൈവപുരുഷനെങ്കില് ആകശത്തുനിന്നു തീ ഇറങ്ങി നിന്നെയും നിന്റെ അമ്പതു ആളെയും ദഹിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടനെ ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീ ഇറങ്ങി അവനെയും അവന്റെ അമ്പതു ആളെയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
11And he turneth and sendeth unto him another head of fifty and his fifty, and he answereth and speaketh unto him, `O man of God, thus said the king, Haste, come down.`
11അവന് അമ്പതുപേര്ക്കും അധിപതിയായ മറ്റൊരുത്തനെയും അവന്റെ അമ്പതു ആളെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു; അവനും അവനോടുദൈവപുരുഷാ, വേഗത്തില് ഇറങ്ങിവരുവാന് രാജാവു കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
12And Elijah answereth and speaketh unto them, `If I [am] a man of God, fire doth come down from the heavens, and consume thee and thy fifty;` and fire of God cometh down from the heavens, and consumeth him and his fifty.
12ഏലീയാവു അവനോടുഞാന് ദൈവപുരുഷനെങ്കില് ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീ ഇറങ്ങി നിന്നെയും നിന്റെ അമ്പതു ആളെയും ദഹിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തീ ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി അവനെയും അവന്റെ അമ്പതു ആളെയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
13And he turneth and sendeth a third head of fifty and his fifty, and the third head of fifty goeth up, and cometh in, and boweth on his knees over-against Elijah, and maketh supplication unto him, and speaketh unto him, `O man of God, let be precious, I pray thee, my soul and the soul of thy servants — these fifty — in thine eyes.
13മൂന്നാമതും അവന് അമ്പതുപേര്ക്കും അധിപതിയായ ഒരുത്തനെയും അവന്റെ അമ്പതു ആളെയും അയച്ചു; ഈ മൂന്നാമത്തെ അമ്പതുപേര്ക്കും അധിപതിയായവന് ചെന്നു ഏലീയാവിന്റെ മുമ്പില് മുട്ടുകുത്തി അവനോടുദൈവപുരുഷനായുള്ളോവേ, എന്റെ പ്രാണനെയും നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ ഈ അമ്പതു ആളുടെ പ്രാണനെയും ആദരിക്കേണമേ.
14Lo, come down hath fire from the heavens, and consumeth the two heads of the former fifties and their fifties; and, now, let my soul be precious in thine eyes.`
14ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു തീ ഇറങ്ങി അമ്പതുപേര്ക്കധിപതിമാരായ മുമ്പിലത്തെ രണ്ടുപേരെയും അവരുടെ അമ്പതീതു ആളെയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; എന്നാല് എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ ആദരിക്കേണമേ എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
15And a messenger of Jehovah speaketh unto Elijah, `Go down with him, be not afraid of him;` and he riseth and goeth down with him unto the king,
15അപ്പോള് യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന് ഏലീയാവോടുഇവനോടുകൂടെ പോക; അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവനോടുകൂടെ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു.
16and speaketh unto him, `Thus said Jehovah, Because that thou hast sent messengers to inquire of Baal-Zebub god of Ekron — is it because there is not a God in Israel to inquire of His word? therefore, the bed whither thou hast gone up — thou dost not come down from it, for thou dost certainly die.`
16അവനോടുയഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പാന് യിസ്രായേലില് ദൈവം ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞിട്ടോ നീ എക്രോനിലെ ദേവനായ ബാല്സെബൂബിനോടു അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പാന് ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചതു? ഇതുനിമിത്തം നീ കയറിയിരിക്കുന്ന കട്ടിലില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങാതെ നിശ്ചയമായി മരിക്കും.
17And he dieth, according to the word of Jehovah that Elijah spake, and Jehoram reigneth in his stead, in the second year of Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, for he had no son.
17ഏലീയാവു പറഞ്ഞ യഹോവയുടെ വചനപ്രകാരം തന്നേ അവന് മരിച്ചു പോയി; അവന്നു മകനില്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു പകരം യെഹോരാം യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോരാമിന്റെ രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടില് രാജാവായി.
18And the rest of the matters of Ahaziah that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
18അഹസ്യാവു ചെയ്ത മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങള് യിസ്രായേല്രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
