1As the former time made light The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, So the latter hath honoured the way of the sea, Beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
1എന്നാല് കഷ്ടതയില് ഇരുന്ന ദേശത്തിന്നു തിമിരം നില്ക്കയില്ല; പണ്ടു അവന് സെബൂലൂന് ദേശത്തിന്നു നഫ്താലിദേശത്തിന്നും ഹീനത വരുത്തിയെങ്കിലും പിന്നത്തേതില് അവന് കടല്വഴിയായി യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയുള്ള ജാതികളുടെ മണ്ഡലത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം വരുത്തും.
2The people who are walking in darkness Have seen a great light, Dwellers in a land of death-shade, Light hath shone upon them.
2ഇരുട്ടില് നടന്ന ജനം വലിയൊരു വെളിച്ചം കണ്ടു; അന്ധതമസ്സുള്ള ദേശത്തു പാര്ത്തവരുടെ മേല് പ്രകാശം ശോഭിച്ചു.
3Thou hast multiplied the nation, Thou hast made great its joy, They have joyed before Thee as the joy in harvest, As [men] rejoice in their apportioning spoil.
3നീ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ജാതിയെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവര് നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് സന്തോഷിക്കുന്ന സന്തോഷം കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്തിലെ സന്തോഷംപോലെയും കൊള്ളപങ്കിടുമ്പോള് ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നതു പോലെയും ആകുന്നു.
4Because the yoke of its burden, And the staff of its shoulder, the rod of its exactor, Thou hast broken as [in] the day of Midian.
4അവന് ചുമക്കുന്ന നുകവും അവന്റെ ചുമലിലെ കോലും അവനെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവന്റെ വടിയും മിദ്യാന്റെ നാളിലെപ്പോലെ നീ ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
5For every battle of a warrior [is] with rushing, and raiment rolled in blood, And it hath been for burning — fuel of fire.
5ഒച്ചയോടെ ചവിട്ടി നടക്കുന്ന യോദ്ധാവിന്റെ ചെരിപ്പൊക്കെയും രക്തംപിരണ്ട വസ്ത്രവും വിറകുപോലെ തീക്കു ഇരയായിത്തീരും.
6For a Child hath been born to us, A Son hath been given to us, And the princely power is on his shoulder, And He doth call his name Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
6നമുക്കു ഒരു ശിശു ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നമുക്കു ഒരു മകന് നല്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ആധിപത്യം അവന്റെ തോളില് ഇരിക്കും; അവന്നു അത്ഭുതമന്ത്രി, വീരനാം ദൈവം, നിത്യപിതാവു, സമാധാന പ്രഭു എന്നു പേര് വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.
7To the increase of the princely power, And of peace, there is no end, On the throne of David, and on his kingdom, To establish it, and to support it, In judgment and in righteousness, Henceforth, even unto the age, The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts doth this.
8കര്ത്താവു യാക്കോബില് ഒരു വചനം അയച്ചു; അതു യിസ്രായേലിന്മേല് വീണും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
8A word hath the Lord sent into Jacob, And it hath fallen in Israel.
9ഇഷ്ടികകള് വീണുപോയി എങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങള് വെട്ടുകല്ലുകൊണ്ടു പണിയും; കാട്ടത്തികളെ വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു എങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങള് അവേക്കു പകരം ദേവദാരുക്കളെ നട്ടുകൊള്ളും
9And the people have known — all of it, Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, In pride and in greatness of heart, saying,
10എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഡംഭത്തോടും ഹൃദയഗര്വ്വത്തോടുംകൂടെ പറയുന്ന എഫ്രയീമും ശമര്യ്യനിവാസികളുമായ ജനമൊക്കെയും അതു അറിയും.
10`Bricks have fallen, and hewn work we build, Sycamores have been cut down, and cedars we renew.`
11അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ രെസീന്റെ വൈരികളെ അവന്റെ നേരെ ഉയര്ത്തി, അവന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ഇളക്കിവിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
11And Jehovah setteth the adversaries of Rezin on high above him, And his enemies he joineth together,
12അരാമ്യര് കിഴക്കും ഫെലിസ്ത്യര് പടിഞ്ഞാറും തന്നേ; അവര് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വായ് പിളര്ന്നു വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയും. ഇതെല്ലാംകൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.
12Aram from before, and Philistia from behind, And they devour Israel with the whole mouth. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.
13എന്നിട്ടും ജനം തങ്ങളെ അടിക്കുന്നവങ്കലേക്കു തിരിയുന്നില്ല; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
13And the people hath not turned back unto Him who is smiting it, And Jehovah of Hosts they have not sought.
14അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലില്നിന്നു തലയും വാലും പനമ്പട്ടയും പോട്ടപ്പുല്ലും ഒരു ദിവസത്തില് തന്നേ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.
14And Jehovah cutteth off from Israel head and tail, Branch and reed — the same day,
15മൂപ്പനും മൂന്യപുരുഷനും തന്നേ തല; അസത്യം ഉപദേശിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന് തന്നേ വാല്.
15Elder, and accepted of face, he [is] the head, Prophet, teacher of falsehood, he [is] the tail.
16ഈ ജനത്തെ നടത്തുന്നവര് അവരെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്നു; അവരാല് നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നവര് നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു.
16And the eulogists of this people are causing to err, And its eulogised ones are consumed.
17അതുകൊണ്ടു കര്ത്താവു അവരുടെ യൌവനക്കാരില് സന്തോഷിക്കയില്ല; അവരുടെ അനാഥന്മാരോടും വിധവമാരോടും അവന്നു കരുണ തോന്നുകയുമില്ല; എല്ലാവരും വഷളന്മാരും ദുഷ്കര്മ്മികളും ആകുന്നു; എല്ലാവായും ഭോഷത്വം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു എല്ലാം കൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.
17Therefore, over its young men the Lord rejoiceth not, And its orphans, and its widows He pitieth not, For every one [is] profane, and an evil doer, And every mouth is speaking folly. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.
18ദുഷ്ടത തീപോലെ ജ്വലിക്കുന്നു; അതു പറക്കാരയും മുള്ളും ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; വനത്തിലെ പള്ളക്കാടുകളില് കത്തുന്നു; പുകത്തൂണുകളായി ഉരുണ്ടുപൊങ്ങും.
18For burned as a fire hath wickedness, Brier and thorn it devoureth, And it kindleth in thickets of the forest, And they lift themselves up, an exaltation of smoke!
19സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ കോപംനിമിത്തം ദേശം ദഹിച്ചുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; ജനവും തീക്കു ഇരയായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഒരുത്തനും തന്റെ സഹോദരനെ ആദരിക്കുന്നില്ല.
19In the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts Hath the land been consumed, And the people is as fuel of fire; A man on his brother hath no pity,
20ഒരുത്തന് വലത്തുഭാഗം കടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ടും വിശന്നിരിക്കും; ഇടത്തുഭാഗവും തിന്നും; തൃപ്തിവരികയുമില്ല; ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ ഭുജത്തിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകളയുന്നു.
20And cutteth down on the right, and hath been hungry, And he devoureth on the left, And they have not been satisfied, Each the flesh of his own arm they devour.
21മനശ്ശെ എഫ്രയീമിനെയും എഫ്രയീം മനശ്ശെയെയും തന്നേ; അവര് ഇരുവരും യെഹൂദെക്കു വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതെല്ലാംകൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.
21Manasseh — Ephraim, and Ephraim — Manasseh, Together they [are] against Judah, With all this not turned back hath His anger. And still His hand is stretched out!
