1And Samson goeth to Gaza, and seeth there a woman, a harlot, and goeth in unto her;
1അനന്തരം ശിംശോന് ഗസ്സയില് ചെന്നു അവിടെ ഒരു വേശ്യയെ കണ്ടു അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു.
2[it is told] to the Gazathites, saying, `Samson hath come in hither;` and they go round and lay wait for him all the night at the gate of the city, and keep themselves silent all the night, saying, `Till the light of the morning — then we have slain him.`
2ശിംശോന് ഇവിടെ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഗസ്യര്ക്കും അറിവുകിട്ടി; അവര് വന്നു വളഞ്ഞു അവനെ പിടിപ്പാന് രാത്രിമുഴുവനും പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കല് പതിയിരുന്നു; നേരം വെളുക്കുമ്പോള് അവനെ കൊന്നുകളയാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു രാത്രിമുഴുവനും അനങ്ങാതിരുന്നു.
3And Samson lieth down till the middle of the night, and riseth in the middle of the night, and layeth hold on the doors of the gate of the city, and on the two side posts, and removeth them with the bar, and putteth on his shoulders, and taketh them up unto the top of the hill, which [is] on the front of Hebron.
3ശിംശോന് അര്ദ്ധരാത്രിവരെ കിടന്നുറങ്ങി അര്ദ്ധരാത്രിയില് എഴുന്നേറ്റു പട്ടണവാതിലിന്റെ കതകും കട്ടളക്കാല് രണ്ടും ഔടാമ്പലോടുകൂടെ പറിച്ചെടുത്തു ചുമലില്വെച്ചു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഹെബ്രോന്നെതിരെയുള്ള മലമുകളില് കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
4And it cometh to pass afterwards that he loveth a woman in the valley of Sorek, and her name [is] Delilah,
4അതിന്റെശേഷം അവന് സോരേക് താഴ്വരയില് ദെലീലാ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.
5and the princes of the Philistines come up unto her, and say to her, `Entice him, and see wherein his great power [is], and wherein we are able for him — and we have bound him to afflict him, and we — we give to thee, each one, eleven hundred silverlings.`
5ഫെലിസ്ത പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവളോടുനീ അവനെ വശീകരിച്ചു അവന്റെ മഹാശക്തി ഏതില് എന്നും ഞങ്ങള് അവനെ പിടിച്ചു കെട്ടി ഒതുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എങ്ങനെ സാധിക്കും എന്നും അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ക; ഞങ്ങള് ഔരോരുത്തന് ആയിരത്തൊരുനൂറു വെള്ളിപ്പണം വീതം നിനക്കു തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
6And Delilah saith unto Samson, `Declare, I pray thee, to me, wherein thy great power [is], and wherewith thou art bound, to afflict thee.`
6അങ്ങനെ ദെലീലാ ശിംശോനോടുനിന്റെ മഹാശക്തി ഏതില് ആകുന്നു? ഏതിനാല് നിന്നെ ബന്ധിച്ചു ഒതുക്കാം? എനിക്കു പറഞ്ഞുതരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7And Samson saith unto her, `If they bind me with seven green withs which have not been dried, then I have been weak, and have been as one of the human race.`
7ശിംശോന് അവളോടുഒരിക്കലും ഉണങ്ങാതെ പച്ചയായ ഏഴു ഞാണുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ ബന്ധിച്ചാല് എന്റെ ബലം ക്ഷയിച്ചു ഞാന് ശേഷം മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെ ആകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
8And the princes of the Philistines bring up to her seven green withs which have not been dried, and she bindeth him with them.
8ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ഉണങ്ങാത്ത ഏഴു പച്ച ഞാണു അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവകൊണ്ടു അവള് അവനെ ബന്ധിച്ചു.
9And the ambush is abiding with her in an inner chamber, and she saith unto him, `Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson;` and he breaketh the withs as a thread of tow is broken in its smelling fire, and his power hath not been known.
9അവളുടെ ഉള്മുറിയില് പതിയിരിപ്പുകാര് പാര്ത്തിരുന്നു. അവള് അവനോടുശിംശോനേ, ഫെലിസ്ത്യര് ഇതാ വരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടനെ അവന് തീ തൊട്ട ചണനൂല്പോലെ ഞാണുകളെ പൊട്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവന്റെ ശക്തിയുടെ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെട്ടതുമില്ല.
10And Delilah saith unto Samson, `Lo, thou hast played upon me, and speakest unto me lies; now, declare, I pray thee, to me, wherewith thou art bound.`
10പിന്നെ ദെലീലാ ശിംശോനോടുനീ എന്നെ ചതിച്ചു എന്നോടു ഭോഷകു പറഞ്ഞു; നിന്നെ ഏതിനാല് ബന്ധിക്കാം എന്നു ഇപ്പോള് എനിക്കു പറഞ്ഞുതരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
11And he saith unto her, `If they certainly bind me with thick bands, new ones, by which work hath not been done, then I have been weak, and have been as one of the human race.`
11അവന് അവളോടുഒരിക്കലും പെരുമാറീട്ടില്ലാത്ത പുതിയ കയര്കൊണ്ടു എന്നെ ബന്ധിച്ചാല് എന്റെ ബലം ക്ഷയിച്ചു ഞാന് ശേഷം മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെ ആകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
12And Delilah taketh thick bands, new ones, and bindeth him with them, and saith unto him, `Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson;` and the ambush is abiding in an inner chamber, and he breaketh them from off his arms as a thread.
12ദെലീലാ പുതിയ കയര് വാങ്ങി അവനെ ബന്ധിച്ചിട്ടുശിംശോനേ, ഫെലിസ്ത്യര് ഇതാ വരുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. പതിയിരിപ്പുകാര് ഉള്മുറിയില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവനോ ഒരു നൂല്പോലെ തന്റെ കൈമേല്നിന്നു അതു പൊട്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
13And Delilah saith unto Samson, `Hitherto thou hast played upon me, and dost speak unto me lies; declare to me wherewith thou art bound.` And he saith unto her, `If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.`
13ദെലീലാ ശിംശോനോടുഇതുവരെ നീ എന്നെ ചതിച്ചു എന്നോടു ഭോഷകു പറഞ്ഞു; നിന്നെ ഏതിനാല് ബന്ധിക്കാമെന്നു എനിക്കു പറഞ്ഞു തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവന് അവളോടുഎന്റെ തലയിലെ ഏഴു ജട നൂല്പാവില് ചേര്ത്തു നെയ്താല് സാധിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
14And she fixeth [it] with the pin, and saith unto him, `Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson;` and he awaketh out of his sleep, and journeyeth with the pin of the weaving machine, and with the web.
14അവള് അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു കുറ്റി അടിച്ചുറപ്പിച്ചുംവെച്ചു അവനോടുശിംശോനേ, ഫെലിസ്ത്യര് ഇതാ വരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന് ഉറക്കമുണര്ന്നു നെയ്ത്തുതടിയുടെ കുറ്റിയും പാവും പറിച്ചെടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.
15And she saith unto him, `How dost thou say, I have loved thee, and thy heart is not with me? these three times thou hast played upon me, and hast not declared to me wherein thy great power [is].`
15അപ്പോള് അവള് അവനോടുനിന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കെ നീ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? ഈ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം നീ എന്നെ ചതിച്ചു; നിന്റെ മഹാശക്തി ഏതില് ആകന്നു എന്നു എനിക്കു പറഞ്ഞുതന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
16And it cometh to pass, because she distressed him with her words all the days, and doth urge him, and his soul is grieved to death,
16ഇങ്ങനെ അവള് അവനെ ദിവസംപ്രതി വാക്കുകളാല് ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിച്ചു അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്തി; അവന് മരിപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം വ്യസനപരവശനായി തീര്ന്നിട്ടു തന്റെ ഉള്ളം മുഴുവനും അവളെ അറിയിച്ചു.
17that he declareth to her all his heart, and saith to her, `A razor hath not gone up on my head, for a Nazarite to God I [am] from the womb of my mother; if I have been shaven, then hath my power turned aside from me, and I have been weak, and have been as any of the human race.`
17ക്ഷൌരക്കത്തി എന്റെ തലയില് തൊട്ടിട്ടില്ല; ഞാന് അമ്മയുടെ ഗര്ഭംമുതല് ദൈവത്തിന്നു വ്രതസ്ഥന് ആകുന്നു; ക്ഷൌരം ചെയ്താല് എന്റെ ബലം എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകും; ഞാന് ബലഹീനനായി ശേഷം മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെ ആകും എന്നു അവളോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
18And Delilah seeth that he hath declared to her all his heart, and she sendeth and calleth for the princes of the Philistines, saying, `Come up this time, for he hath declared to me all his heart;` and the princes of the Philistines have come up unto her, and bring up the money in their hand.
18തന്റെ ഉള്ളം മുഴുവനും അവന് അറിയിച്ചു എന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോള് ദെലീലാ ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെ വിളിപ്പാന് ആളയച്ചുഇന്നു വരുവിന് ; അവന് തന്റെ ഉള്ളം മുഴുവനും എന്നെ അറിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയിച്ചു. ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് അവളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു, പണവും കയ്യില് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
19and she maketh him sleep on her knees, and calleth for a man, and shaveth the seven locks of his head, and beginneth to afflict him, and his power turneth aside from off him;
19അവള് അവനെ മടിയില് ഉറക്കി, ഒരു ആളെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു തലയിലെ ജട ഏഴും കളയിച്ചു; അവള് അവനെ ഒതുക്കിത്തുടങ്ങി; അവന്റെ ശക്തി അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി. പിന്നെ അവള്ശിംശോനേ,
20and she saith, `Philistines [are] upon thee, Samson;` and he awaketh out of his sleep, and saith, `I go out as time by time, and shake myself;` and he hath not known that Jehovah hath turned aside from off him.
20ഫെലിസ്ത്യര് ഇതാ വരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടനെ അവന് ഉറക്കമുണര്ന്നു; യഹോവ തന്നെ വിട്ടു എന്നറിയാതെഞാന് മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ കുടഞ്ഞൊഴിഞ്ഞുകളയും എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു.
21And the Philistines seize him, and pick out his eyes, and bring him down to Gaza, and bind him with two brazen fetters; and he is grinding in the prison-house.
21ഫെലിസ്ത്യരോ അവനെ പിടിച്ചു കണ്ണു കുത്തിപ്പൊട്ടിച്ചു ഗസ്സയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി ചെമ്പുചങ്ങലകൊണ്ടു ബന്ധിച്ചു; അവന് കാരാഗൃഹത്തില് മാവു പൊടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
22And the hair of his head beginneth to shoot up, when he hath been shaven,
22അവന്റെ തലമുടി കളഞ്ഞശേഷം വീണ്ടും വളര്ന്നുതുടങ്ങി.
23and the princes of the Philistines have been gathered together to sacrifice a great sacrifice to Dagon their god, and to rejoice; and they say, `Our god hath given into our hand Samson our enemy.`
23അനന്തരം ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്നമ്മുടെ വൈരിയായ ശിംശോനെ നമ്മുടെ ദേവന് നമ്മുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവനായ ദാഗോന്നു ഒരു വലിയ ബലികഴിപ്പാനും ഉത്സവം ഘോഷിപ്പാനും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി.
24And the people see him, and praise their god, for they said, `Our god hath given in our hand our enemy, and he who is laying waste our land, and who multiplied our wounded.`
24പുരുഷാരം അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള്നമ്മുടെ ദേശം ശൂന്യമാക്കുകയും നമ്മില് അനേകരെ കൊല്ലുകയും ചെയ്ത നമ്മുടെ വൈരിയെ നമ്മുടെ ദേവന് നമ്മുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി.
25And it cometh to pass, when their heart [is] glad, that they say, `Call for Samson, and he doth play before us;` and they call for Samson out of the prison-house, and he playeth before them, and they cause him to stand between the pillars.
25അവര് ആനന്ദത്തിലായപ്പോള്നമ്മുടെ മുമ്പില് കളിപ്പാന് ശിംശോനെ കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ശിംശോനെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തില്നിന്നു വരുത്തി; അവന് അവരുടെ മുമ്പില് കളിച്ചു; തൂണുകളുടെ ഇടയിലായിരുന്നു അവനെ നിര്ത്തിയിരുന്നതു.
26And Samson saith unto the young man who is keeping hold on his hand, `Let me alone, and let me feel the pillars on which the house is established, and I lean upon them.`
26ശിംശോന് തന്നെ കൈകൂ പിടിച്ച ബാല്യക്കാരനോടുക്ഷേത്രം നിലക്കുന്ന തൂണു ചാരിയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അവയെ തപ്പിനോക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
27And the house hath been full of men and of women, and thither [are] all the princes of the Philistines, and on the roof [are] about three thousand men and women, who are looking on the playing of Samson.
27എന്നാല് ക്ഷേത്രത്തില് പുരുഷന്മാരും സ്ത്രീകളും നിറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; സകല ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ശിംശോന് കളിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാരും സ്ത്രീകളുമായി ഏകദേശം മൂവായിരം പേര് മാളികയില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
28And Samson calleth unto Jehovah, and saith, `Lord Jehovah, remember me, I pray Thee, and strengthen me, I pray Thee, only this time, O God; and I am avenged — vengeance at once — because of my two eyes, on the Philistines.`
28അപ്പോള് ശിംശോന് യഹോവയോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചുകര്ത്താവായ യഹോവേ, എന്നെ ഔര്ക്കേണമേ; ദൈവമേ, ഞാന് എന്റെ രണ്ടുകണ്ണിന്നും വേണ്ടി ഫെലിസ്ത്യരോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു ഈ ഒരു പ്രാവശ്യം മാത്രം എനിക്കു ശക്തി നല്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29And Samson turneth aside [to] the two middle pillars, on which the house is established, and on which it is supported, [to] the one with his right hand, and one with his left;
29ക്ഷേത്രം നിലക്കുന്ന രണ്ടു നടുത്തുണും ഒന്നു വലങ്കൈകൊണ്ടും മറ്റേതു ഇടങ്കൈകൊണ്ടും ശിംശോന് പിടിച്ചു അവയോടു ചാരി
30and Samson saith, `Let me die with the Philistines,` and he inclineth himself powerfully, and the house falleth on the princes, and on all the people who [are] in it, and the dead whom he hath put to death in his death are more than those whom he put to death in his life.
30ഞാന് ഫെലിസ്ത്യരോടുകൂടെ മരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ശിംശോന് പറഞ്ഞു ശക്തിയോടെ കുനിഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ ക്ഷേത്രം അതിലുള്ള പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും സകലജനത്തിന്റെയും മേല് വീണു. അങ്ങനെ അവന് മരണസമയത്തുകൊന്നവര് ജീവകാലത്തു കൊന്നവരെക്കാള് അധികമായിരുന്നു.
31And his brethren come down, and all the house of his father, and lift him up, and bring him up, and bury him between Zorah and Eshtaol, in the burying-place of Manoah his father; and he hath judged Israel twenty years.
31അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരും പിതൃഭവനമൊക്കെയും ചെന്നു അവനെ എടുത്തു സോരെക്കും എസ്തായോലിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേ അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ മാനോഹയുടെ ശ്മശാനസ്ഥലത്തു അടക്കം ചെയ്തു. അവന് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ഇരുപതു സംവത്സരം ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
