1Words of Nehemiah son of Hachaliah. And it cometh to pass, in the month of Chisleu, the twentieth year, and I have been in Shushan the palace,
1ഹഖല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ നെഹെമ്യാവിന്റെ ചരിത്രം. ഇരുപതാം ആണ്ടില് കിസ്ളേവ് മാസത്തില് ഞാന് ശൂശന് രാജധാനിയില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്
2and come in doth Hanani, one of my brethren, he and men of Judah, and I ask them concerning the Jews, the escaped part that have been left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem;
2എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തനായ, ഹനാനിയും യെഹൂദയില്നിന്നു ചില പുരുഷന്മാരും വന്നു; ഞാന് അവരോടു പ്രവാസത്തില്നിന്നു തെറ്റി ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയ യെഹൂദന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചും യെരൂശലേമിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ചോദിച്ചു.
3and they say to me, `Those left, who have been left of the captivity there in the province, [are] in great evil, and in reproach, and the wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burnt with fire.`
3അതിന്നു അവര് എന്നോടുപ്രവാസത്തില്നിന്നു തെറ്റി ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി ശേഷിപ്പു അവിടെ ആ സംസ്ഥാനത്തു മഹാകഷ്ടത്തിലും അപമാനത്തിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതില് ഇടിഞ്ഞും അതിന്റെ വാതിലുകള് തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടും കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4And it cometh to pass, at my hearing these words, I have sat down, and I weep and mourn [for] days, and I am fasting and praying before the God of the heavens.
4ഈ വര്ത്തമാനം കേട്ടപ്പോള് ഞാന് ഇരുന്നു കരഞ്ഞു; കുറെനാള് ദുഃഖിച്ചും ഉപവസിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തോടു ഞാന് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്
5And I say, `I beseech thee, O Jehovah, God of the heavens, God, the great and the fearful, keeping the covenant and kindness for those loving Him, and for those keeping His commands,
5സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു നിന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും നിയമവും ദയയും പാലിക്കുന്ന മഹാനും ഭയങ്കരനുമായ ദൈവമേ,
6let Thine ear be, I pray Thee, attentive, and Thine eyes open, to hearken unto the prayer of Thy servant, that I am praying before Thee to-day, by day and by night, concerning the sons of Israel Thy servants, and confessing concerning the sins of the sons of Israel, that we have sinned against Thee; yea, I and the house of my father have sinned;
6നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി രാവും പകലും നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കയും യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളായ ഞങ്ങള് നിന്നോടു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റുപറകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന അടിയന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേള്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ചെവി ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചും നിന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നും ഇരിക്കേണമേ; ഞാനും എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനവും പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
7we have acted very corruptly against Thee, and have not kept the commands, and the statutes, and the judgments, that Thou didst command Moses Thy servant.
7ഞങ്ങള് നിന്നോടു ഏറ്റവും വഷളത്വമായി പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെയോടു നീ കല്പിച്ച കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും ഞങ്ങള് പ്രമാണിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.
8`Remember, I pray Thee, the word that Thou didst command Moses Thy servant, saying, Ye — ye trespass — I scatter you among peoples;
8നിങ്ങള് ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്താല് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് ചിന്നിച്ചുകളയും;
9and ye have turned back unto Me, and kept My commands, and done them — if your outcast is in the end of the heavens, thence I gather them, and have brought them in unto the place that I have chosen to cause My name to tabernacle there.
9എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് എങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചു അവയെ അനുസരിച്ചുനടന്നാല്, നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭ്രഷ്ടന്മാര് ആകാശത്തിന്റെ അറുതിവരെയും എത്തിയിരുന്നാലും ഞാന് അവിടെനിന്നു അവരെ ശേഖരിച്ചു, എന്റെ നാമം സ്ഥാപിപ്പാന് ഞാന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത സ്ഥലത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരും എന്നു നിന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെയോടു നീ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം ഔര്ക്കേണമേ.
10And they [are] Thy servants, and Thy people, whom Thou hast ransomed by Thy great power, and by Thy strong hand.
10അവര് നിന്റെ മഹാശക്തികൊണ്ടും ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടും നീ വീണ്ടെടുത്ത നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരും നിന്റെ ജനവുമല്ലോ.
11`I beseech Thee, O Lord, let, I pray Thee, Thine ear be attentive unto the prayer of Thy servant, and unto the prayer of Thy servants, those delighting to fear Thy Name; and give prosperity, I pray Thee, to Thy servant to-day, and give him for mercies before this man;` and I have been butler to the king.
11കര്ത്താവേ, നിന്റെ ചെവി അടിയന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനെക്കും നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുവാന് താല്പര്യപ്പെടുന്ന നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനെക്കും ശ്രദ്ധയുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണമേ. ഇന്നു അടിയന്നു കാര്യം സാധിപ്പിച്ചു ഈ മനുഷ്യന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ എനിക്കു ദയ ലഭിക്കുമാറാക്കേണമേ. ഞാന് രാജാവിന്നു പാനപാത്രവാഹകനായിരുന്നു.
