1And in the seventh year hath Jehoiada strengthened himself, and taketh the heads of the hundreds, even Azariah son of Jeroham, and Ishmael son of Jehohanan, and Azariah son of Obed, and Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son of Zichri, with him into covenant.
1यहोयादाने सहा वर्षांनंतर आपले सामर्थ्य दाखवले. त्याने यरोहामचा मुलगा अजऱ्या यहोहानानचा मुलगा इश्माएल, ओबेदचा मुलगा अजऱ्या, अदायाचा मुलगा मासेया आणि जिक्रीचा मुलगा अलीशाफाट या मुख्य अधिकाऱ्यांशी करार केला.
2And they go round about in Judah, and gather the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and heads of the fathers of Israel, and come in unto Jerusalem,
2त्यांनी यहूदाभर फिरुन यहूदात विखुरलेल्या लेवींना आणि इस्राएलच्या कुलप्रमुखांना एकत्र आणले. मग ते सर्व यरुशलेम येथे गेले.
3and all the assembly make a covenant in the house of God with the king, and he saith to them, `Lo, the son of the king doth reign, as Jehovah spake concerning the sons of David.
3तेथे देवाच्या मंदिरात सर्व समुदायाने राजाशी करार केला. यहोयादा या लोकांना म्हणाला, “परमेश्वर दावीदाच्या संततीविषयी जे बोलला आहे त्याला अनुसरुन राजाचा मुलगा गादीवर येईल.
4`This [is] the thing that ye do: The third of you, going in on the sabbath, of the priests, and of the Levites, [are] for gatekeepers of the thresholds,
4आता तुम्ही करायचे ते असे: तुमच्यापैकी जे एक तृतीयांश याजक आणि लेवी शब्बाथच्या दिवशी कामाला येतात त्यांनी मंदिरावर पहारा करावा.
5and the third [are] at the house of the king, and the third at the gate of the foundation, and all the people [are] in the courts of the house of Jehovah.
5एकतृतीयांश लोकांनी राजमहालावर पहारा करावा, आणि उरलेल्या एकतृतीयांश लोकांनी वेशीपाशी असावे. यांच्याखेरीज बाकी सर्व लोकांनी परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराच्या आवारात राहावे.
6`And none doth enter the house of Jehovah except the priests, and those ministering of the Levites (they go in for they [are] holy), and all the people keep the watch of Jehovah:
6कोणालाही परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात येऊ देऊ नये. सेवा करणारे याजक आणि लेवी यांनाच काय ते परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराच्या आत येता येईल कारण ते शुचिर्भूत असतात. पण इतरांनी परमेश्वराने नेमून दिलेली आपापली कामे करायची आहेत.
7and the Levites have compassed the king round about, each with his weapon in his hand, and he who hath gone in unto the house is put to death; and be ye with the king in his coming in and in his going out.'
7लेवींनी राजाच्या निकट राहायचे. प्रत्येकाजवळ आपली तलवार सज्ज असावी. कोणी मंदिरात घुसायाचा प्रयत्न केल्यास त्याला ठार करावे. सर्वांनी राजाची सावलीसारखी सोबत करावी.”
8And the Levites and all Judah do according to all that Jehoiada the priest hath commanded, and take each his men going in on the sabbath, with those going out on the sabbath, for Jehoiada the priest hath not let away the courses.
8लेवी आणि यहूदा या सर्व लोकांनी यहोयादा या याजकाने ज्या आज्ञा केल्या त्या सर्वांचे पालन केले. यहोयादाने याजकांपैकी कोणाचीही गय केली नाही. त्यामुळे शब्बाथच्या दिवशी आळीपाळीने आत येणाऱ्या व कामावरुन बाहेर जाणाऱ्या सर्वाची व्यवस्था केली.
9And Jehoiada the priest giveth to the heads of the hundreds the spears, and the shields, and the bucklers that [are] king David's, that [are] in the house of God;
9दावीद राजाचे भाले, छोट्या ढाली आणि मोठ्या ढाली ही शस्त्रे देवाच्या मंदिरामध्ये ठेवलेली होती. यहोयादा याजकाने शंभर सैनिकांच्या तुकड्यांच्या प्रमुखांना त्या दिल्या.
10and he stationeth the whole of the people, and each his dart in his hand, from the right shoulder of the house unto the left shoulder of the house, at the altar, and at the house, by the king, round about.
10आणि त्यांनी कुठे, कसे उभे राहायचे ते सांगितले. प्रत्येकाजवळ आपापले शस्त्र होते. मंदिराच्या थेट उजव्या कोपऱ्यापासून डाव्या बाजूपर्यंत ही शस्त्रधारी माणसे उभी राहिली. वेदी, मंदिर आणि राजा यांच्याजवळ ती उभी होतीच.
11And they bring out the son of the king, and put upon him the crown, and the testimony, and cause him to reign; and Jehoiada and his sons anoint him, and say, `Let the king live!'

12And Athaliah heareth the voice of the people who are running, and who are praising the king, and she cometh in unto the people in the house of Jehovah,
12मंदिराकडे लगबगीने जाणाऱ्या लोकांचा गलका आणि राजाचा जयजयकार अथल्याने ऐकला. तेव्हा ती मंदिरात लोकांकडे आली.
13and seeth, and lo, the king is standing by his pillar in the entrance, and the heads, and the trumpets [are] by the king, and all the people of the land rejoicing and shouting with trumpets, and the singers with instruments of song, and the teachers, to praise, and Athaliah rendeth her garments, and saith, `Conspiracy, conspiracy.'
13पाहते तो तिला राजा दिसला. प्रवेशद्वाराशी तो राजस्तंभाजवळ उभा होता. कर्णे वाजवणारे कारभारी आणि लोक राजा जवळ उभे होते. देशभरचे लोक कर्णे वाजवून आनंद व्यक्त करत होते. गाणारे वाद्ये वाजवत होते आणि त्यांनी म्हटलेल्या स्तवनगीतापाठोपाठ लोक म्हणत होते. तेव्हा आपली तीव्र नापसंती दाखवण्यासाठी अथल्याने आपले कपडे फाडले आणि “फितुरी, फितुरी” असे ती ओरडली.
14And Jehoiada the priest bringeth out the heads of the hundreds, inspectors of the force, and saith unto them, `Take her out from within the rows, and he who hath gone after her is put to death by the sword;' for the priest said, `Put her not to death [in] the house of Jehovah.'
14याजक यहोयादा याने सेनापतींना पुढे आणले. त्यांना तो म्हणाला, “तिला सैन्याच्या रांगांमधून बाहेर काढा. तिच्या मागे जो जाईल त्याला तलवारीने मारुन टाका.” मग याजकाने सैन्याला आज्ञा दिली, “परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात अथल्याचा वध करु नका.”
15And they make for her sides, and she cometh in unto the entrance of the gate of the horses at the house of the king, and they put her to death there.

16And Jehoiada maketh a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, to be for a people to Jehovah;

17and all the people enter the house of Baal, and break it down, yea, his altars and his images they have broken, and Mattan priest of Baal they have slain before the altars.

18And Jehoiada putteth the offices of the house of Jehovah into the hand of the priests the Levites whom David had apportioned over the house of Jehovah, to cause to ascend the burnt-offerings of Jehovah, as written in the law of Moses, with joy, and with singing, by the hands of David;
18यहोयादाने मग परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरातील याजकांची नेमणूक केली. हे याजक लेवी होते आणि दावीदाने त्यांना मंदिराचे मुखत्यारपद दिले होते. मोशेच्या नियमशास्त्राप्रमाणे परमेश्वराला होमबली अर्पण करणे, हे त्यांचे काम होते. दावीदाच्या आज्ञेनुसार आनंदाने गायन करत त्यांनी होमबली अर्पण केले
19and he stationeth the gatekeepers over the gates of the house of Jehovah, and the unclean in anything doth not go in.
19सर्वार्थाने शुध्द-शुचिर्भूत होऊनच मंदिरात यावे, तसे नसणाऱ्याना अडवले जावे म्हणून यहोयादाने परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराच्या प्रवेशद्वाराशीच द्वारपाल नेमले.
20And he taketh the heads of the hundreds, and the honourable ones, and the rulers among the people, and all the people of the land, and bringeth down the king from the house of Jehovah, and they come in through the high gate to the house of the king, and cause the king to sit on the throne of the kingdom.
20सर्व सैन्याधिकारी, लोकनायक, सरदार आणि सर्व प्रजा यांना यहोयादाने आपल्याबरोबर घेतले. मग त्याने राजाला परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराबाहेर काढले. तिथून वरच्या वेशीतून ते राजमहालात पोचले. तेथे त्यांनी राजाला सिंहासनावर बसवले.
21And all the people of the land rejoice, and the city hath been quiet, and Athaliah they have put to death by the sword.
21अथल्याचा तलवारीने वध झाला त्या नंतर यहूदा लोकांमध्ये आनंदी आनंद पसरला आणि यरुशलेम नगर शांत झाले.
