1And they journey from Elim, and all the company of the sons of Israel come in unto the wilderness of Sin, which [is] between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month of their going out from the land of Egypt.
1मग इस्राएल लोक प्रवास करीत एलीम या ठिकाणाहून निघाले व मिसरमधून निघाल्यानंतर दुसऱ्या महिन्याच्या पंधराव्या दिवशी एलीम व सीनाय यांच्या दरम्यान असलेल्या सीनायच्या रानात आले.
2And all the company of the sons of Israel murmur against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness;
2लोक पुन्हा, रानात मोशे व अहरोन यांच्याकडे कुरकुर करु लागले;
3and the sons of Israel say unto them, `Oh that we had died by the hand of Jehovah in the land of Egypt, in our sitting by the flesh-pot, in our eating bread to satiety — for ye have brought us out unto this wilderness to put all this assembly to death with hunger.`
3ते म्हणाले, “परमेश्वराने आम्हाला मिसरमध्येच मारून टाकले असते तर बरे झाले असते कारण तेथे आम्हास खावयास लागणारे सर्व प्रकारचे अन्न भरपूर होते; परंतु तुम्ही आम्हांस येथे रानात आणले आहे; येथे आम्ही सर्वजण भुकेने तडफडून मरून जाऊ.”
4And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Lo, I am raining to you bread from the heavens — and the people have gone out and gathered the matter of a day in its day — so that I try them whether they walk in My law, or not;
4मग परमेश्वर मोशेला म्हणाला, “तुम्हाला खाण्याकरिता मी आकाशातून अन्न पडावे असे करीन; दर दिवशी लोकांनी आपल्याला त्या दिवसाला पुरेल एवढे अन्न बाहेर जाऊन गोळा करावे. मी सांगतो त्याप्रमाणे लोक करतात की नाही हे पाहण्यासाठी मी हे करीन.
5and it hath been on the sixth day, that they have prepared that which they bring in, and it hath been double above that which they gather day [by] day.`
5दरदिवशी लोकांनी एक दिवस पुरेल एवढेच अन्न गोळा करावे, परंतु शुक्रवारी जेव्हा ते जेवण तयार करतील तेव्हा मात्र ते जेवण दोन दिवस पुरेल इतके करावे.”
6And Moses saith — Aaron also — unto all the sons of Israel, `Evening — and ye have known that Jehovah hath brought you out from the land of Egypt;
6म्हणून मोशे व अहरोन लोकांना म्हणाले, “आज रात्री तुम्ही परमेश्वराचे सामर्थ्य पाहाल; तेव्हा मिसरमधून तुम्हाला वाचविणारा परमेश्वर हाच आहे हे तुम्हाला कळेल.
7and morning — and ye have seen the honour of Jehovah, in His hearing your murmurings against Jehovah, and what [are] we, that ye murmur against us?`
7उद्या सकाळी तुम्ही परमेश्वराचे तेज पाहाल; तुम्ही परमेश्वराकडे तक्रार केली आणि त्याने ती ऐकली; आणि तुम्ही उगीच आम्हाकडे पुन्हा पुन्हा तक्रार करीत आला आहात. आता आपण जरा आराम करु या.”
8And Moses saith, `In Jehovah`s giving to you in the evening flesh to eat, and bread in the morning to satiety — in Jehovah`s hearing your murmurings, which ye are murmuring against Him, and what [are] we? your murmurings [are] not against us, but against Jehovah.`
8आणि मोशे म्हणाला, “तुम्ही एक सारखी तक्रार करीत आहात; परमेश्वराने तर तुमची तक्रार ऐकली आहे; तेव्हा आज रात्री परमेश्वर तुम्हाला मांस देणार आहे; आणि दर दिवशी सकाळी तुम्हाला पाहिजे तेवढ्या भाकरी मिळतील; तुम्ही अहरोनाकडे व मजकडे तक्रार करीत आहात तुम्ही माझ्या किंवा अहरोनाच्याविरुद्ध कुरकुर करीत नाही तर परमेश्वराविरुद्ध तक्रार करीत आहात हे लक्षात घ्या.”
9And Moses saith unto Aaron, `Say unto all the company of the sons of Israel, Come ye near before Jehovah, for He hath heard your murmurings;`
9मग मोशे अहरोनाला म्हणाला, “तू इस्राएल लोकांशी बोल; त्यांना सांग, ‘तुम्ही परमेश्वराकडे एकत्र या कारण त्याने तुमच्या तक्रारी ऐकल्या आहेत.”
10and it cometh to pass, when Aaron is speaking unto all the company of the sons of Israel, that they turn towards the wilderness, and lo, the honour of Jehovah is seen in the cloud.
10मग अहरोन सर्व इस्राएल लोकांशी बोलला. ते सर्वजण एके ठिकाणी जमले होते; अहरोन बोलत असताना सर्व लोकांनी वळून रानाकडे पाहिले; आणि त्यांना एका ढगात परमेश्वराचे तेज दिसले.
11And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
11परमेश्वर मोशेला म्हणाला,
12`I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel; speak unto them, saying, Between the evenings ye eat flesh, and in the morning ye are satisfied [with] bread, and ye have known that I [am] Jehovah your God.`
12“मी इस्राएल लोकांच्या तक्रारी ऐकल्या आहेत तेव्हा त्यांना सांग, ‘रात्री तुम्ही मांस खाल आणि दररोज सकाळी तुम्हाला पाहिजे तितक्या भाकरी खाल; मग परमेश्वर मी तुमचा देव आहे हे तुम्हाला समजेल.”‘
13And it cometh to pass in the evening, that the quail cometh up, and covereth the camp, and in the morning there hath been the lying of dew round about the camp,
13त्या संध्याकाळच्या वेळी, रात्र पडण्याच्या सुमारास तेथे लावे पक्षी आले व छावणीभर ते पसरले (आणि त्यांना खाण्याकरिता इस्राएल लोकांनी ते पकडले) आणि सकाळी छावणीच्या सभोंवती जमिनीवर दंव पडले.
14and the lying of the dew goeth up, and lo, on the face of the wilderness a thin, bare thing, thin as hoar-frost on the earth.

15And the sons of Israel see, and say one unto another, `What [is] it?` for they have not known what it [is]; and Moses saith unto them, `It [is] the bread which Jehovah hath given to you for food.
15ते पाहून इस्राएल लोकांनी एकमेकांना विचारले, “ते काय आहे?” त्यांनी असे विचारले कारण ते काय आहे हे त्यांना माहीत नव्हते. तेव्हा मोशेने त्यांना सांगितले, “परमेश्वर हे अन्न तुम्हाला खाण्याकरिता देत आहे.
16`This [is] the thing which Jehovah hath commanded: Gather of it each according to his eating, an omer for a poll; and the number of your persons, take ye each for those in his tent.`
16परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “आपल्याला जेवढ्या अन्नाची गरज आहे तेवढे प्रत्येक जणाने घ्यावे; तुम्हापैकी प्रत्येकाने तुमच्या कुटूंबातील लोकांकरिता दर माणशी आठवाट्या म्हणजे एक ओमर गोळा करावे.”‘
17And the sons of Israel do so, and they gather, he who is [gathering] much, and he who is [gathering] little;
17तेव्हा इस्राएल लोकांनी तसे केले, म्हणजे प्रत्येकाने हे अन्न गोळा करून घेतले.
18and they measure with an omer, and he who is [gathering] much hath nothing over, and he who is [gathering] little hath no lack, each according to his eating they have gathered.
18लोकांनी ते आपल्या कुटुंबातील प्रत्येकास दिले; ते मोजल्यानंतर प्रत्येकासाठी पुरेसे भरले; परंतु कमी अधिक गोळा केले असले तरी ते कधीही कमी किंवा जास्त नव्हते कारण प्रत्येक जण आपल्या स्वत:साठी व आपल्या घरातील सर्व माणसास पुरेल एवढे गोळा करी.
19And Moses saith unto them, `Let no man leave of it till morning;`
19मोशेने लोकांना सांगितले, “दुसऱ्या दिवसासाठी ते अन्न ठेवू नका.”
20and they have not hearkened unto Moses, and some of them do leave of it till morning, and it bringeth up worms and stinketh; and Moses is wroth with them.
20परंतु लोकांनी मोशेचे ऐकले नाही, काही लोकांनी त्या अन्नातून काही बाकी ठेवले आणि त्या ठेवलेल्या अन्नात किडे पडले व त्याची घाण येऊ लागली. तेव्हा असे करणाऱ्यावर मोशे फार रागावला.
21And they gather it morning by morning, each according to his eating; when the sun hath been warm, then it hath melted.
21दर दिवशी ते लोक आपल्याला पुरेसे अन्न गोळा करीत परंतु दुपारी सूर्याच्या उष्णतेमुळे ते अन्न वितळून जाई व नाहीसे होई.
22And it cometh to pass on the sixth day, they have gathered a second bread, two omers for one, and all the princes of the company come in, and declare to Moses.
22शुक्रवारी लोकांनी दुप्पट अन्न म्हणजे दर माणशी सोळा वाट्या किंवा दोन ओमर अन्न गोळा केले. तेव्हा सर्व पुढारी लोक मोशेकडे आले व त्यांनी हे त्याला कळविले.
23And he saith unto them, `It [is] that which Jehovah hath spoken [of]; a rest — a holy sabbath to Jehovah — [is] to-morrow; that which ye bake, bake; and that which ye boil, boil; and all that is over, let rest for yourselves in charge till the morning.`
23मोशेने त्यांना सांगितले, “हे असे होईल असे परमेश्वराने सांगितले होते; हे असे झाले कारण उद्या शब्बाथ दिवस आज तुम्हाला लागणारे सर्व अन्न शिजवून तयार ठेवावे परंतु उरलेले दुसऱ्या दिवशी सकाळसाठी ठेवावे.”
24And they let it rest until the morning, as Moses hath commanded, and it hath not stank, and a worm hath not been in it.
24म्हणून लोकांनी उरलेले अन्न दुसऱ्या दिवसाकरिता ठेवले आणि त्यातील थोडे ही वाईट झाले नाही किंवा त्यात कोठेही किडे पडले नाहीत.
25And Moses saith, `Eat it to-day, for to-day [is] a sabbath to Jehovah; to-day ye find it not in the field:
25शनिवारी मोशेने लोकांना सांगितले, “आज शब्बाथ दिवस म्हणजे विसावा घेण्याचा आणि परमेश्वराची उपकार स्तुती करण्याचा विशेष दिवस आहे; तेव्हा तुम्हापैकी कोणीही बाहेर जाऊ नये तर तुम्ही काल गोळा केलेल्या अन्नातून जेवण खावे.
26six days ye do gather it, and in the seventh day — the sabbath — in it there is none.`
26तुम्ही सहा दिवस अन्न गोळा करावे परंतु आठवड्याचा सातवा दिवस हा विसाव्याचा दिवस आहे; या दिवशी अन्न मिळणार नाही.”
27And it cometh to pass on the seventh day, some of the people have gone out to gather, and have not found.
27शनिवारी काही लोक अन्न गोळा करावयास बाहेर गेले परंतु त्यांना काहीच मिळाले नाही.
28And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `How long have ye refused to keep My commands, and My laws?
28नंतर परमेश्वर मोशेला म्हणाला, “माझ्या आज्ञा व माझे नियम पाळावयास तुम्ही कोठवर नाकारणार?
29see, because Jehovah hath given to you the sabbath, therefore He is giving to you on the sixth day bread of two days; abide ye each [in] his place, no one doth go out from his place on the seventh day.`
29पाहा तुम्ही विसावा घ्यावा यासाठी परमेश्वराने शब्बाथ दिवस बनविला आहे; म्हणून शुक्रवारी परमेश्वर तुम्हाला दोन दिवस पुरेल एवढे अन्न देतो, तेव्हा शब्बाथ दिवशी तुम्ही आहात तेथे बसून विसावा घ्यावा.”
30And the people rest on the seventh day,
30म्हणून मग लोक शब्बाथ दिवशी विसावा घेऊ लागले.
31and the house of Israel call its name Manna, and it [is] as coriander seed, white; and its taste [is] as a cake with honey.
31लोक त्या विशेष अन्नला “मान्ना” म्हणू लागले; ते धण्यासारखे पांढऱ्या रंगाचे होते त्याची चव मध घालून केलेल्या सपाट पोळी सारखी होती.
32And Moses saith, `This [is] the thing which Jehovah hath commanded: Fill the omer with it, for a charge for your generations, so that they see the bread which I have caused you to eat in the wilderness, in My bringing you out from the land of Egypt.`
32मोशे म्हणाला, “परमेश्वराने सांगितले, ‘या अन्नातील आठवाट्या म्हणजे एक ओमर इतके किंवा एका एफाचा दहावा भाग इतके अन्न तुमच्या पुढील पिढ्यांसाठी राखून ठेवा म्हणजे मग तुम्हाला मिसर देशातून काढून नेल्यावर मी तुम्हाला रानात कसे अन्न दिले हे त्यांना समजेल.”‘
33And Moses saith unto Aaron, `Take one pot, and put there the fulness of the omer of manna, and let it rest before Jehovah, for a charge for your generations;`
33तेव्हा मोशेने अहरोनाला सांगितले, “एक मोठ्या तोंडाचे खोल भांडे घे आणि त्यात आठवाट्या म्हणजे एक ओमर मान्ना घाल. तो परमेश्वरापुढे सादर करण्यासाठी देव तो आपल्या पुढील पिढ्यांसाठी राखून ठेव.”
34as Jehovah hath given commandment unto Moses, so doth Aaron let it rest before the Testimony, for a charge.
34मग अहरोनाने, परमेश्वराने मोशेला दिलेल्या आज्ञे प्रमाणे केले. अहरोनाने परमेश्वराच्या आज्ञापटा पुढे मान्ना भरलेले ते भांडे ठेवले.
35And the sons of Israel have eaten the manna forty years, until their coming in unto the land to be inhabited; the manna they have eaten till their coming in unto the extremity of the land of Canaan.
35इस्राएल लोक तो मान्ना चाळीस वर्षे म्हणजे वस्ती असलेल्या देशाला पोहोंचेपर्यंत म्हणजे कनान देशाच्या सरहद्दीला पोहोंचेपर्यंत, खात होते.
36and the omer is a tenth of the ephah.
36एक ओमर मान्ना म्हणजे त्यांचा मोजमापाप्रमाणे सुमारे आठवाट्या किंवा “एका एफाचा दहावाभाग” होता.
