1The burden of Babylon that Isaiah son of Amoz hath seen:
1आमोजचा मुलगा यशया ह्याला देवाने बाबेलोनबद्दल दु:खदायक हा संदेश दिला.
2`On a high mountain lift ye up an ensign, Raise the voice to them, wave the hand, And they go in to the openings of nobles.
2देव म्हणाला, “जेथे काहीही उगवत नाही अशा ओसाड डोंगरावर ध्वज उभारा. लोकांना हाका मारा. हातांनी खुणा करा. त्यांना प्रतिष्ठितासाठी असलेल्या दारातून प्रवेश करायला सांगा.”
3I have given charge to My sanctified ones, Also I have called My mighty ones for Mine anger, Those rejoicing at Mine excellency.`
3देव पुढे म्हणाला, “मी त्या लोकांना इतरांपासून वेगळे केले आहे. मी स्वत: त्याच्यावर सत्ता गाजवीन. मी रागावलो आहे. मी माझ्या योध्द्यांना त्या लोकांना शिक्षा करण्यासाठी, गोळा केले आहे. मला ह्या सुखी लोकांचा अभिमान वाटतो.
4A voice of a multitude in the mountains, A likeness of a numerous people, A voice of noise from the kingdoms of nations who are gathered, Jehovah of Hosts inspecting a host of battle!
4“डोंगरावर मोठा आवाज होत आहे तो लक्षपूर्वक ऐका. खूप माणसांच्या गोंगाटासारखा तो आवाज आहे कारण पुष्कळ राज्यातील माणसे एकत्र येत आहेत. सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर त्याच्या सैन्याला एकत्र बोलावीत आहे.
5They are coming in from a land afar off, From the end of the heavens, Jehovah and the instruments of His indignation, To destroy all the land.
5दूरच्या प्रदेशातून परमेश्वर व हे सैन्य येत आहे. क्षितिजापलीकडून ते येत आहेत. ह्या सैन्याचा उपयोग परमेश्वर आपला राग व्यक्त करण्याचे शस्त्र म्हणून करणार आहे. हे सैन्य सर्व देशाचा नाश करील.”
6Howl ye, for near [is] the day of Jehovah, As destruction from the Mighty it cometh.
6परमेश्वराने ठरविलेला खास दिवस जवळ आला आहे. तेव्हा आक्रोश करा व शोक करा शत्रूकडून तुमची लूट होण्याची वेळ जवळ येत आहे. सर्व शक्कितमान देव हे घडवून आणील.
7Therefore, all hands do fail, And every heart of man doth melt.
7लोकांचे धैर्य गळेल. त्यांची भीतीने गाळण उडेल.
8And they have been troubled, Pains and pangs they take, As a travailing woman they are pained, A man at his friend they marvel, The appearance of flames — their faces!
8प्रत्येक माणूस भेदरलेला असेल. बाळंत होत असलेल्या स्त्रीप्रमाणे भितीने त्यांच्या पोटात गोळा उठेल. त्यांची तोंडे अग्रीप्रमाणे लाल होतील. सर्वांच्याच तोंडावर ही कळा पाहून ते आश्चर्यचकीत होतील.
9Lo, the day of Jehovah doth come, Fierce, with wrath, and heat of anger, To make the land become a desolation, Yea, its sinning ones He destroyeth from it.
9पाहा परमेश्वराचा खास दिवस येत आहे. तो फारच भयानक दिवस असेल. देव फारच संतप्त होईल. आणि तो देशाचा नाश करील. ह्या देशातील पापी लोकांना देश सोडण्यास तो भाग पाडील.
10For the stars of the heavens, and their constellations, Cause not their light to shine, Darkened hath been the sun in its going out, And the moon causeth not its light to come forth.
10आकाश अंधकारमय होईल. सूर्य, चंद्र, तारे प्रकाश देणार नाहीत.
11And I have appointed on the world evil, And on the wicked their iniquity, And have caused to cease the excellency of the proud, And the excellency of the terrible I make low.
11देव म्हणतो, “मी जगात वाईट गोष्टी घडवून आणीन. पाप्यांना त्यांच्या पापांबद्दल मी शिक्षा करीन. मी गर्विष्ठांचे गर्वहरण करीन. दुसऱ्यांशी क्षुद्र वृत्तीने वागणाऱ्या बढाईखोरांचा तोरा उतरवीन. तेव्हा थोडेच लोक शिल्लक राहतील.
12I make man more rare than fine gold, And a common man than pure gold of Ophir.
12दुर्मिळ सोन्याप्रमाणे चांगले लोकही थोडेच राहतील आणि शुध्द सोन्याहून त्यांची किंमत जास्त असेल.
13Therefore the heavens I cause to tremble, And the earth doth shake from its place, In the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts, And in a day of the heat of his anger.
13माझ्या रागाने मी आकाशाला हलवेन व पृथ्वी तिच्या स्थानावरून ढळविली जाईल.” हे सर्व, सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर रागावेल तेव्हा घडून येईल.
14And it hath been, as a roe driven away, And as a flock that hath no gatherer, Each unto his people — they turn, And each unto his land — they flee.
14त्या वेळी बाबेलोनमधील प्रजा घायाळ हरणाप्रमाणे पळ काढेल. मेंढपाळ नसलेल्या मेंढराप्रमाणे ते सैरावैरा धावतील. प्रत्येकजण आपल्या देशात व आपल्या लोकात पळून जाईल.
15Every one who is found is thrust through, And every one who is added falleth by sword.
15पण शत्रू त्यांचा पाठलाग करील. आणि शत्रूच्या हाती सापडणाऱ्याला शत्रू तलवारीने ठार मारील.
16And their sucklings are dashed to pieces before their eyes, Spoiled are their houses, and their wives lain with.
16त्यांची घरे लुटली जातील. त्यांच्या स्त्रियांवर बलात्कार होतील, त्यांच्या डोळ्यादेखत लहान मुलांना मरेपर्यंत मारले जाईल.
17Lo, I am stirring up against them the Medes, Who silver esteem not, And gold — they delight not in it.
17देव म्हणतो, “पाहा! बाबेलोनवर हल्ला करण्यासाठी मी मेदीचे सैन्य वापरीन. मेदीच्या सैन्याला चांदी, सोने दिले तरी ते हल्ला करीतच राहील.
18And bows dash young men to pieces, And the fruit of the womb they pity not, On sons their eye hath no pity.
18ते बाबेलोनमधील तरूणावर हल्ला करून त्यांना मारतील मुलांना ते दया दाखविणार नाहीत. लहानग्यांची ते कीव करणार नाहीत. सदोम व गमोरा यांच्याप्रमाणे बाबेलोनचा संपूर्ण नाश होईल. देव सर्वनाश घडवून आणील मागे काहीही उरणार नाही.
19And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, The glory, the excellency of the Chaldeans, Hath been as overthrown by God, With Sodom and with Gomorrah.
19“बाबेलोन सर्व देशांहून सुंदर आहे. बाबेलोनच्या रहिवाशांना आपल्या शहराबद्दल गर्व आहे.
20She doth not sit for ever, Nor continueth unto many generations, Nor doth Arab pitch tent there, And shepherds lie not down there.
20पण बाबेलोनचे सौंदर्य टिकणार नाही. भविष्यकाळात लोक तेथे राहणार नाहीत. अरब आपले तंबू तेथे ठोकणार नाहीत. मेंढपाळ मेंढ्या चारण्यास तेथे येणार नाहीत.
21And Ziim have lain down there, And full have been their houses of howlings, And dwelt there have daughters of an ostrich, And goats do skip there.
21वाळवंटातील जंगली प्राण्यांशिवाय तेथे कोणी राहणार नाही. बाबेलोनमधील घरे ओस पडतील. वटवाघुळांची व घुबडांची तेथे वस्ती असेल. बोकडांच्या रूपातील पिशाच्चे त्या घरात खेळतील.
22And Aiim have responded in his forsaken habitations, And dragons in palaces of delight, And near to come [is] her time, And her days are not drawn out!
22बाबेलोनच्या भव्य आणि सुंदर इमारतीतून रानकुत्री आणि लांडगे केकाटतील, बाबेलोन नष्ट होईल. त्याचा शेवट जवळ आला आहे. मी त्याचा नाश लांबणीवर टाकू देणार नाही.”
